    Nice review. Thank you. I just learned about the Velasca brand of shoes. I’m now considering ordering the black classic Derby’s with leather soles

    Nice video , glad you loved these too, I’ve got their BRUMISTA brogue captoe … Gorgeous quality and leather , comparable to many High end English shoes… I would recommend WOODEN SHOE TREES instead of the plastic though!! Be well … God bless

    Hi Patrick. This past month, I've been looking for white low profile sneakers, similar to Common Projects. Just last night, I came across Valesca via PayPal promo. While I'm not overly keen on their shoes, they do a low profile minimal sneaker. Leather upper , leather interior ( I think) , & uppers stitched to the sole ( as opposed to glued) . Also made in Italy ( as opposed to China) . All for €188. And I got a 10% discount with the PayPal promo. So I'm feeling very pleased with myself today. Having said that, I know I will be returning them for a smaller size. But their returns seem to the hassle free & free, if u see what I mean. I wanted to order the navy as Well, but my two size options were out of stock.

      You could also try suit supply or nolabel. They also have a minimal sneaker made in spain if i remember corectly. However i think that the valesca offers a more quality. Not saying the other ones are bad but just differant price range.

    I wear black Broncos and they are just absolutely amazing ! Very good quality, and confortable at the very beginning, which is rare enough to be told... I'm on my way for the Honchos and the Willys soon :-)
    Note that mine are 41, and i'm wearing 42 to 43 as well on a regular basis.

    Thanks for this video! I'm debating getting either their Belgian loafer or a brown suede semi brogue with rubber sole. They seem to be a good price for the quality! :)

      They are both amazing quality for the price. I personaly love leather soles, so i would go for the Belgian loafer! But is you are in a wetter climate or winter the rubber sole is definitly the way to go ;) Eitherway you can't choose wrong ;)

    When it comes to cheapest full grain shoes Velasca and Scarosso are OK, if a bit on the lower side of leather quality, for not much more you can get Septieme Largeur that has top notch leather but for suede shoes V and S are excellent. Not so sure about this particular model, though. You should also shine your shoes, probably have metal toe plates installed and use wooden shoe trees as they will absorb sweat and remove any odor..

      The price/quality point was (when i bought the shoes) amazing of Velasca. Over the years they have slowly increased the prices, stil great valeu but they are getting closer to other brands indeed. Highly recommmend the metal toe plate indeed since I had the issue that i am scraping my toes and the sole split at the front, easy fix at the shoemaker though!

    I’m 41 is ok for velasca?

    • @PatrickvanderEst
      @PatrickvanderEst  Před rokem

      Yes, my size is 41 aswell and its a perfect fit! just make sure you take the size of a comparable shoe and not sneakers.

    Thanks for the review. A few comments:
    Size: My experience is different. I have bought two different models in size 43 which are pretty much exactly the same as Ecco's size 43 and most other shoes I have in that size.
    Build: the Polidor model has a fabric edging between the lining and outside. This edging has a colour matched plastic top coating which unfortunately wears away quickly, leaving the light fabric very visible in some places. This ruins what is otherwise a good shoe as far as i can judge after half a year's use. (There is also a plastic strip between the sole and upper which I think some people may find odd, but that is is a minor thing). The Urtulan model does not have these issues.
    Hype: You say the shoes are handmade. I find this very hard to believe and you should not say it unless you can verify it. Velasca's webpages with pictures of lovely old craftsmen with leather aprons - come on! - does anyone believe that? Are they using North African slave labour in their factories? Probably not, but if a company is, let me say... "grossly misleading" in one part of its advertising, I can't help but start to wonder what else they are presenting "not quite correctly".

      im not advertising velasca in general. but there is a strick rule in italy (EU in general) as to how you cna use the word "artiginal" or "hand made" those kind of informations are controlled and certified.
      FYI: in italy there is a region called MARCHE where a lot of people does shoes by hand. a lot of "made in italy" shoes are produced in there.

    • @toobalkain
      @toobalkain Před 2 lety +1

      @@edrianquintos they're not handmade, at least not in the sense the term is commonly used in the industry, they'd be at least €500 if they were, they're 90% machine made with a bit of manual work in key stages. Terms like Swiss Made or Made in Italy are controlled and certified, if problematic, afak handmade is not.
