A talented & versatile duo, vidwans Malladi brothers gave an awesome concert. Excellent pAdAntaram, distilled carnatic music without much fireworks or fanfare. Very good coordination, nice selection of kritis, good diction & well executed ; the alApanais, swaraprastarams, etc were with full bhava. Wonderful. 👍Starting with dhanyAsi (rAmAbhirAma manasu by the saint where he pleads to perumal to direct him to sing to Him) nAyaki (kanugonu soukhyamu by the saint where he rejoices in the vision of perumAL) nArayanagowla ( sri rAmam by dikshitar on tirupullAni perumAL) simmendramadhyamam (pAmarajana pAlini by dikshitar on brihaNNAyaki thAyAr of thanjavur) bAlahamsa (virAjaturaga by the saint, wherein to pleads to perumAL to free him from any illness) mohanam (rA rA rAjeeva lochana by mysore vasudevacharya) khamAs ( thEruvadeppO nenjE by nilakanta sivan) ananda bhairavi (rAmayya bhadrAchala by BR) & concluding with SB (dEva dEvam by narAyana teerthar) Wonderful✨
The violin support by vidwan varadarajan was wonderful. His ragam essays were graceful👌The percussion support by vidwan Neyveli narayanan (mridangam) & vidwan sree sundarkumar (ganjira) was sparkling & brilliant.👍 Thanks to Mudhra for bringing this live 🙏

It would be nice to refer to pAmarajana pAlini as being in Seemantini rAgam (as opposed to Simhendramadhyamam) to be consistent with the nomenclature that Dikshitar followed. The discussions around "what is the big difference?" can come later :)

brilliant nayaki raga essay...... it takes a lot of skill to elaborate a raga that is quite similar to darbar while also maintaining its pleasing integrity.........
Perfect and traditional as always! The two Brothers have that special aesthetic combination which never fails to delight the listener. Have to specifically mention the beautiful accompaniment by Neyveli Narayanan that simply enhanced the beauty of each keerthanam!

The Malladi Sagodhargall have always earned our keen attention with their unusual style, exciting creativity, and sensitive mutual support for each other. Such is their depth of talent that, in Mohanam for example, they offerred some new phrases. Varadharaajan and Neyvelli Naraayanan lent brilliant support.
Good start with Ramar in dhanyasi. Swaraprastharam by both was very nice. Varadharajan excelled in his swaravali.

The concert is very well rendered. However, the recording is less that perfect….over saturation at peak frequencies. I am sure a good Sound Engineer can take care of it.

In my opinion the mrudangam may keep without jarring sound. The artist playing well.
Too many advertisements in between pallavi_ anupallavi , anupallavi_charanam, and between thani avarthanam, between end and beginning of songs. Overall I had to watch 25 advertisements. Very horrible experience watching this concert.
