    @Johnnysshop I tried that but I ended up just grinding the top nut down to get it off, got a whole new set of clamps so it's not really a loss lol

    Great man, now for re assembly, does it mater if you rotated them a little bit when you put them back in or is there a correct "front"? And does the height they stick out from matter? Or as long as they are the same distance above? Ive got some moose racing shock covers that are waiting to go on..

    How hard would it be to install new steering stem bearings and do I need any special tools?

    @Johnnysshop I figured it would have to be replaced anyway, right now the only problem is that I can't even remove it to be replaced lol

    Great video, I have a feeling I'll be watching it a few times! I'm currently considering swapping the front end off my CB400 super four project bike for something else(basically all I have is the frame). I was wondering if you have any info on triple trees more generally and what the key measurements are to make sure they fit. I have photos and measurements if they're of use to you.

    that 30mm nut that you took off, I'm trying to take it off my bike and it wont come off. It just spins the whole stem. Any Idea what's going on?

    do you have to take the fork legs off or is there away that the upper and lower triple tree will come off with both of the forks with it all in one?

    • @Johnnysshop
      @Johnnysshop  Před 10 lety

      You could take just the upper clamp off and slide the rest off from the bottom.

    How to you remove the stem. I got forks and stem out of bike. I got one fork tube slid out but the other tube is still in the one clamp. I want to powder coat my clamps so i figure taking it completely top and bottom clamps apart. Dpes the steering stem unscrew or it is pressed into the clamps and not suppose to come apart?

    Yeah, there seems to be no end of research when it comes to swapping out front ends. Thanks anyways.

    What are the bearings called in the blue middle top that keep the handle bars from moving around? I need those

    hi, I have a play in motorbike handlebars I mean when I apply breaks handlebar moves front and back few millimeters. it is ok with steering the handlebars. How to fix or tight it. As I understand if I tight the top middle nut it should be fine right or wrong?

    • @Johnnysshop
      @Johnnysshop  Před 6 lety

      Tighten the stem nut a bit. It could also be the bearings. When you tighten it up and it still steers easily, you're probably fine.
