Shannon left Undisputed at the perfect time tbh, he was outgrowing the show and Skip was probably becoming jealous of how he was being overshadowed by Shannon’s huge personality in media. Now look at him, he has a huge following and his own successful podcast while debating sports on First Take as a side hustle a couple days out the week. It’s almost as if him being fired from Undisputed was a blessing in disguise because he’s done so much more since being let go. In other words, he won 🏆

I have also thought this…..I think Skip and the network underestimated Shannon’s popularity. There is a humbleness and gratefulness for his life that he exudes. He admits his faults with family and women….he makes himself vulnerable. And he seems like such a great guy We always root for him.

That’s wildly inaccurate. It takes a lot to be a business owner and to do your own thing. Most people aren’t able to cut it or willing to take on that amount of risk. IF you can hack it and IF you’re willing to take on the risk, yes, it has higher ceiling potential. But that isn’t for everyone, and if it was, what would business be if everyone was their own business owner, there would be no employees to run businesses so the world would just be 7 billion self employed people, makes literally zero sense

People keep regurgitating that Skip gave Shannon the job as if Skip was doing charity for him. Shannon made Skip a lot of money and gave him credibility. It was a quid pro quo. He didn't deserve to be desecrated on like Skip was doing. Just because you're an employee doesn't mean you don't deserve dignity. It's been a year look where Undisputed is without Shannon.

Skip was rich and successful before Shannon. That said, Sharpe is a natural star on the screen, Undisputed isn’t the same without him, and I believe the ratings, and Shanon’s success going solo will reflect that.

Same here. After the blowups about Skip’s reaction to Damar Hamlin and then Skip popping off cracks about Shannon and his HOF status, it was hard to watch. After Shannon left, I have not watched Undisputed. And I love Shannon and Stephen A together!! They are hilarious. When they trash the Cowboys it is so dang funny and better than watching Skip whine
I didn't think about how much he put into the other show... Having to watch all that media in order to be able to effectively do your job... Just wow. Something about Shannon I just love.

He probably had to do it more than a typical sports journalist because people's expectation is that he's a former football player, what could he possibly know about other sports? That's the thing I love about Shannon, you can tell that he not just reading stats, but that he studies so that he actually knows what he is talking about.

One of the reasons I respect Shannon so much (would love to have a beer with him if ever possible) is because even when speaking about any particular subject, he never mentions anyone specifically and keeps it generic and relatable for all to understand. He never slanders. He never talks down. He is always a positive individual, and that is just something that’s hard to come by nowadays. Keep it up, good sir!!

The executives had a meeting with Skip and Shannon to patch things up at least on air between the two. Shannon walked out of the meeting within 5 minutes. Shannon being unprofessional is what got him fired.

Skip brought him on, but if he didn't get his contract renewed and actually wanted to stay on its his good fortune Fox/Skip whoever didn't want him back. For most people especially Shannon's age you are not doing them any favors letting them go, but this is an exception. He was really carrying the show at the end.

Uncle Shay Shay we all are hurt with you OG. But to see you shynee even though the world was on your back is nothing but amazing. The crazy part about that at the same time u was going thru it I was at my job as a Chef for 18 years and to get terminated from my job a worked so hard for defending myself against a work bully. Watching your struggle helped me have the strength to make it thru a similar situation. When it hit I didn't know where to go and what to do but I put my trust in God and he for me a Security job working at the same place that let me go but now I had more power and got paid $2 dollars more and hour doing less work. Your story and struggle help me realize that God put his strongest soldiers in the hardest of battles. I no longer watch undisputed since you're not on there but I'm always tuned into Club Shay Shay and First Take. Keep up the good work OG and Keep the faith. We never know what God has planned for us but watching you I know if I approach everyday right foot over left foot nothing is impossible for God. Love OG Triple OG Uncle Shay Shay. 💯

The viewers speak for themselves, undisputed was the #1 most watched sports show on fox. Nothing was close and their peak they reached 386k views. Still away from first take but they kept getting closer and closer every year. Go check the views undisputed gets now, they aren’t even among the top3 on fox. They dropped so bad and Skip takes part of that blame

I recently got furloughed from a really good job, and the disappointment shook me to my core but this video has given me so much hope for the future. I didn’t come this far in life just for it to end here.
Keep your head up, man. I got laid off in 2021 because of covid, but with help I'm back on my feet and providing for my family. There's always a way, but it may take some time to find it. And sometimes things have to wait until the right time to happen, even if we can't see why.

Shannon Sharpe was a great, HOFER and literally upgraded the TE position. Since he's been in the media, I respect and admire him even more because it seems like he was born to do this work. I subscribed to "Club Shay Shay as soon as I heard that he had a Podcast. Although the "Headline" in this interview had us thinking that they would go into detail about what happened and why he left "Undisputed" with Skip Bayless. I didn't hear or see much of anything on the subject that brought me here.

I knew unc would be successful just from seeing his personality as a player. A really funny, charismatic, and HARD WORKING man. I am not at all surprised where he is. I saw this coming as soon as he said "we are killing the new england patriots" :D :D :D I remember feeling like he wasn't allowed to be himself at all on CBS and was supposed to just be a boring analyst, and I thought this man is too great of an entertainer for this and they are not on his level, they are just analysts. I just wish I was older and could have scooped him up as my client, LOL!
Shannon's work ethic is evident, the drop off on undisputed from him to keyshawn is big, especially during peak basketball season. He has a vision and goes and gets it, anybody can have dreams, few actually have the will yo put the work in to bring them to reality. His shows blow away undisputed, karma is still undefeated.

For the guy asking for advice on becoming a sports analysis. He should be getting on social media and posting videos, and building an audience and platform. Don't just wait around for any media company to give you an opportunity. We're in the social media era, where you can grind your way there.
Skip and Shanon were a solid duo.
As a casual viewer, undisputed lost me when they lost SS. Him joining first take must’ve been a no brainer
Shannon brought up a great point - Skip is like 75 with a good marriage, sober, not much of a social life, early riser. Skip just sits at home with his wife and dogs and watches sports all day long. Shannon is 20 years younger, single, and therefore NEEDS to have time for his personal relationships, to keep his friends close and maybe one day find a wifey. It was for the best that Shannon make his own company and set his own schedule.
I don't see how this schedule isn't more difficult. What did he have to watch? The NBA playoffs and the NFL playoffs. The rest of the segments for the rest of the year were just meaningless Cowboys talk, Brady, or is LeBron better than MJ? What else did they talk about on that show?
