Can we talk about Jojo’s mom? She handled the situation perfectly calm and civil and properly thought Jojo not only to be the bigger person, but how. In this scene she was a great mother, way better than other scene I have seen in this show. There was no yelling back, or unnecessary 10min+ drama. Jojo also acted very mature and I’m glad she stood up for herself!
That entire situation was so hard to watch. Of course a child will cry when yelled at! Heck I'm an adult and I cr6when yelled at!
The only way to handle this situation perfectly would’ve been to take her child out of this show. It’s not a one time thing. Abby was very abusive verbally towards the children. I wouldn’t let my child be abused for all the money in the world.

While yes this is a show, the things Abby talks about and teaches are very real and very true to how she explains it. Abby honestly was just trying to raise professionals, and if people think she was mean they are in a rude awakening if they ever try to audition for anything. This is 100% child abuse. You don't yell at a parent saying that "their kid deserves nothing" because it destroys a child's confidence. Jojo was definitely right to stood up for herself and Jess was also right, Abby doesn't understand how horror films can traumatize a child.

I am floored at JoJo's confidence. When I was a dancer at her age, I was told I deserved nothing by my dance director and I BELIEVED IT, and it scarred me for life. I've been working on reversing what that did to me for 10 years, and my confidence still suffers from it. She's an inspiration. Don't let ANYBODY manipulate you into thinking you're not worthy of something you deserve.

@@californiadoll6273 except it literally was, if you check on any of the girls that were on dance moms almost all of them feel the consequences of the treatment abby was giving them. it's not just yelling, the one in the video wasn't even close to her worst moments, abby was yelling at these little girls for no reason a lot of the times by picking at what ahe knew were their biggest insecurities. she took out anger she had towards some moms on the kids, talked about and dug at their personal lives and parents' issues and at some point mocked one of the girls' medical condition (which she even got surgery for, to the point it was the reason she and her mom left for good). dance teachers are harsh and yell a lot but even the worst I've seen weren't on her level
