    love the concept and it looks really well constructed. wish he Back protector covered the whole of the lumbar spine at least though.Would love to see a longer back protector in version 2.0!! Looks like it stops at about L2-L3 level. Spinal cord damage there means possible paralysis from the thighs down. I dont understand why the CE tests only consider impact transmission/reduction and not adequate coverage. Frustrating. I may just buy a super shirt and modify it to fit a larger back protector though.

      Hi there,
      In the EU, in order to sell motorcycle clothing suitable for road riding we need CE certification, which requires The Linesman Jacket to be sold with armour. However we would like to hear your thoughts, we have a section on our website 'Tell us how to improve our gear' if you'd like to add your feedback: www.adventurespec.com/product-development
      Thanks

    Look at 6:22 when the guy takes off the Supershirt, he needed a separate protetctor for the middle and lower back. That's what is missing from the Supershirt, the back/spine protector is quite short, it doesn't make sense to wear it without an extra protector for that area. Other than that, it's a great product, but in it's present state it feels incomplete. I don't really understand why you designed the Supershirt this way, hope you will upgrade it in the next version.

    how well does it breathe/flow air?

    • @adventurespec
      @adventurespec  Před rokem +1

      Hi! The Supershirt benefits from an open knit material construction that allows air to flow freely through the garment. When you are riding you feel the air flow against your skin.
      The UHDPE material used is hydrophobic, it does not absorb water. Sweat build up passes through the shirt and wicks away!
      Thanks

    My old Garmin satnav once read almost 200mph and it stayed as the maximum speed on it until I replaced it. I know exactly where it happened, it’s was where the A1 just north of Paris goes under the Charles de Gaulle runway while a plane was taxiing overhead.

    I like the concept of a minimalist cut/abrasion resistant shirt for off-road riding. I wouldn't wear this on the road though, except maybe a run to the corner shop.
    I will make some constructive suggestions to make a better v2.
    1) A slip liner is needed to avoid shear force injuries, as seen in the area of contact on the rider's flank. Do NOT wear this against the skin. In fact, I'd avoid any PPE garment without a liner.
    2) Leather overlays at the elbows and shoulders would substantially improve impact abrasion performance. If you don't want to use leather (due to washing restrictions), some non-stretch high performing textile would not be as good but still result an improvement. Non-stretch keprotec might be an option. Stretch materials should never be used in impact zones.
    Although your video is visceral and entertaining, it shouldn't be taken as evidence for a buying decision.

    • @davejhlomax
      @davejhlomax Před rokem +1

      Rob is indeed a Stuntman and you will almost certainly have seen his work before on TV or in various Holywood movies (although you won't have known it was him obviously!). In order to try and conduct this crash 'safely', we had two very experienced members of the crash team. One Stunt Coordinator and one Stuntman. Although we weren't clocking the exact crash speed, Rob estimated he was travelling between 45-50mph when he 'crashed' the bike.

      Klim Marrakesh has level 1 protectors on elbows and shoulders as well as on the back, Supershirt has level 2 protectors in those areas and additional chest protector so maybe that's the reason why it looks more bulky?
