I am 47 and about a year away from finishing an MDiv at SBTS. I pastor two small rural Baptist churches in MS, and had planned, upon starting seminary, to do some sort of doctoral research. Now that I am closer to completing the degree, I have been leaning to not doing that. I love my churches and can’t see the benefit for them or my family by doing that research. This Q&A has helped me by giving me more to think about.
