  • Wassup! In this video I'll be showing you how to make a top-down raglan style crop top. I suggest a lighter weight 4 yarn or a size 3 yarn will work for this project. If you are using a weight 4 I do suggest using a 5.5 mm hook. I actually made this top with a bunch of cotton scrap yarn.
When working your body in the round, to bring in the top closer to your body you can add a decrease row every other row. I show how to decrease in the portion of the video where I show you how to work the sleeve. You can apply the same method to the body of the top.
You'll need a 5 mm hook, yarn and scissors
For the rainbow like top which I wore in the" get to know me" video I used

I made this with my hand spun alpaca its a size 3-3.5 yarn 2 ply it looks so cute this pattern is adorable I did the decreases on the sleeve a little differently so they turned out more puffy along the top of the sleeve but i have bigger arms then you so decreases under my arm is uncomfy. It turned out so cute my hubby said it was adorable lol and he hates crochet so there ya go! ~*~

Thanks for the very clear instructions on how to make this really cute top. I made it with a size 4 yarn and a 5 hook. Turned out too bulky around the sleeves. Then i made another one with a size 3 yarn and a 5.5 hook and it turned out perfect. My fashionista daughter is going to love this. Hopefully I'll be able to post a picture for you. Thanks again. Great pattern and good instructions.

June, I was wondering about the "Guage" because everybody's tension is different. The sleeves that she shows for her demo/video look puffy. I'm thinking of using a different size hook after watching. Also don't know if I like the holes from the chain 2 for the "points for the Yoke" will see... Glad your second one turned out 💫

I make top down Raglan tops and dresses all the time but I never thought when doing in a front post stitch on a decrease to skip the 1st one and do the front post on the 2nd stitch. makes it so less bulky.it looks so much neater I don't know why I never thought of that.
