- The Speer website gives a muzzle velocity as 2820 which might be possible thru a much longer barrel than what I was testing it thru (18"). The website also says that this round is optimized for barrel lengths shorter than 16". Nevertheless a great round with great results. But I'm definitely going to have to get some 308 controlled chaos from Underwood or Buffalo Bore and test those.
Also, that grouping was pretty good too!

Fantastic performance. These are very similar to the Federal Fusion. Great for deer, hogs, black bear and I would think elk within range. Thank you.
From what I know federal fusion and Speer gold dot use the same gold dot projectile.
Thanks, Andrew always good info
Great video. My SHTF load.
If there is one best round for everything it’s probably the Speer Gold Dot.
I’ve become a soft point aficionado for all my defensive long guns lately. Would love to see you go head to head with the similar (but cheaper) load from PSA’s AAC.
Good stuff for sure gold dot is one of the best.
I would like to see how open tip match ammo does in the gel, that's what military and police snipers use in either the 175g M118 or the 168g OTM. I've shot deer with the OTM 168g 308 and it's absolutely devastating.
Love my 308. Sad my local range won't let me shoot it and I have to travel quite a bit to use. At least the drive is to an indoor 100 yard range. ;)
Great video quick question what range I’m just north of tarpon springs and I love that location. If you don’t wanna say, I understand.
It's called Immokalee Range and Gun Club
