this is my 2001 dodge 2500 cummins turbo diesel truck. i thought id shoot a video showing yall me shifting through the gears. let me know if you like it!
@NPC #303 You are so correct. As a 22 year old, it disgusts me the amount of pussies that are in my generation. I drive a 04 Dodge Neon that's a 5 speed and I swear not anyone that is my age can drive a manual these days besides my brothers. Cheers.
@@doyscott6329 well they all sound different but a lot of cummins are in semis but really a 12 valve sounds more like a semi cause they are manually injected
when i was i kid my dad had a 12 valve cummins, he eventually sold it and i miss that clattering awsome diesel sound. i soo want to cummins swap my 98 silverado
AKweldshop They would pull anything you'd put behind them, just don't expect to go very fast. The 6.2 with pistons/rods and a turbo is a great package, very fuel efficient. Get a SM465 behind it and you have a very reliable package that will pull anything and get great mileage. The 6.5 was good providing you relocated the computer, it too was very efficient.
is it ok for me to drive a diesel regularly like I'm not going to pull shit i just love these trucks and was wondering if it would be good to jus drive around daily?
pointless but it would be fine. dont get a 3500 not worth it for you. but its fine for just driving again its pointless to have because they are built to pull but to each their own
It's a free market ain't it? Buy whatever you want who cares if you use something as it is intended, if it is what you want, get it, this isn't china its the good ole USA
LOVE THAT SOUND!!!!! The annoyance of shifting the 6 speed is worth the music from that lovely motor. Who needs a sound system when you got a Cummins under the hood.
Cool truck! I have a 2000 5.9 cummins 2500 2wd with the 6 speed manual. Currently have 287,000K on it. Wonderful trucks for long highway trips and towing heavy stuff- now I can pull home every junk car I find! If I didn't have mine already I'd like to get yours. Good luck selling it! Thanks for the video.
I find it a bit hard to think of these overgrown utes as "trucks" after a bloody long time of driving trucks with 12-17 litre diesels and Eaton Fuller crash boxes (13spd, 15spd, 18spd; EATON RTLO18918B, for example), weighing (gross) anywhere between 37,5t and 64,5t. It doesn't help that the sound this truck makes reminds me of an old Isuzu SBR I once drove when I started out. She wasn't very quick! Anyway, good to see you're having fun. Just one word of advice. Don't leave your right hand on the shift when you aren't changing gears. It puts pressure on the selector forks in the gearbox and causes them to wear out faster. Bitter experience.
My grandpa had 2 of these truck, he gave my family one of them and we had it up until 2 years ago, when the transmission went out. I miss the old Dodge
I much prefer the 6 spd box in my '02 than the 5 speed in the non HO's and older Dodges. MUCH better for towing and/or hauling my truck camper. Good video right up to the point you talked on your cell phone while driving.
lol its funny.. its just you shifting through gears but i cant stop watching it tho lol... love the sound of that engine and turbo... since loseing mine i cant stop watching these vids
Love the sound of the Cummins, if I ever get a newer truck that's what i'm getting, a Dodge with a Cummins. You drive that Stick like a pro! But you don't really need to take off in 1st when your not hauling anything, I always take off in 2nd in my 1990 7.3 Diesel. Great driving vid :)
i have that same model of truck and live in nebraska and i carried eight larhe irigation motors i was amazed and it was fun hoalin it 130 miles because it blew out so much black smoke. (SMOKE IS POWER)
i own a diesel and gas truck and i can appreciate a nice loud or low rumble exhaust but by far the dodge cummins 24v straight pipe just takes the money for being the best sounding
that Cummins diesel engine is so satisfying
Sure is.
Even better in real life trust me
I love the way those 2nd gen trucks sound when you shift. God its orgasmic.
Dude, you sure know how to make a Powertstroke Owner want a Cummins. I hate that Ford and Chevy stopped making Manual Transmissions.
They did? Wow. Im WAY off track. Cummins it is. Lol

Dodge stopped making Manuel’s in 2012 Chevy stopped in 2001 and ford stopped in 1999
@@turbohead5612 Ford stopped in 2010
@@turbohead5612 Dodge still offers
watched this a few times over the years... never get sick of it haha
Did you buy your own? It's a good time the value is appreciating as we speak!!! 😂
I drive a 15-litre, 550hp CAT for a living, and this sounds like a proper truck. Very nice.
Zeviander 14.9 liter sir

Sounds like a frickin peterbuilt!!! I love it!!! (Coming from a duramax guy)
Damien Martin how the fuck could anyone be a duramax person?
If they bleed out of their cooch
What the hell does a Peterbilt sound like ?
@@doyscott6329 well they all sound different but a lot of cummins are in semis but really a 12 valve sounds more like a semi cause they are manually injected
@silverbird58 hahahahaha ok I will
when i was i kid my dad had a 12 valve cummins, he eventually sold it and i miss that clattering awsome diesel sound. i soo want to cummins swap my 98 silverado
Please do it
Dude I got a 98 too but its a dually i've often wondered about swapping the 454 for the cummins
@3:53 is where to go for the ultimate sound...This is ART!
Love these models. And I love that dash finish
The noise is just fantastic! Just hearing all them torques! So cool
Them torques?
I also heard the torques. Almost missed one tho
It's really nice that people take the time to just make gear shifting videos. Kudos to you sir.
I like the mechanical feel of these 2nd gen dodge with a manual also like the flip phone . It doesn't get any better. Thanks for the ride.
Dam that turbo sounds nice
Diesel engines should be it's own genre of music. WHO'S WITH ME?!!!!
uuuffff powerful truck
my brother had one
manual, 3500
when I drive it feels like an international bus
I always come back to this video when I need to hear a proper diesel

Gate 👍 yes everything except eye ete ete yet your ete it even
im back lol
Looks like he's floating the gears. I love him
I could listen to this all day. I love Gasser trucks but this is just pure joy.
you got a flip phone and everything lol I enjoyed the video, thanks for posting it.
A Cummins and a stock shift? Great truck, man.
The last "real" truck imo
Actually that was 02 for the ram 2500&3500
+AKweldshop oh... glad i read this. almost bought a "not good" truck lol
our 2003 ram 2500 is holding its own with the 5.9l
+AKweldshop What about the Detroit 6.2 and 6.5? Those were great engines.

this is the best video I've ever seen. I drive home in my dodge and then I watch this!
Great sound, I loved when the throwback cell phone came out!
Every gear was in a different state.
Yea the 6 and 5 speeds have a long throw
Your everywhere Michael
Video's so old, fella has a flip phone. Thanks for the keeping the video up. I've at least watched it over 12 times.
Ain’t that old... flip phone only allowed 8 sec videos or something like that
great sound man ! Like it !
you really got a lead foot! lol really nice vid man! love the truck
12 valve 6 speed manual transmission, great combination right there like it!
It's a 2001, so that would be the 24 valve cummins.
Damn straight, that WOULD BE the bomb setup.
01 they were 24v
Do you still have that truck?
The truck sounds good I would not mind seeing more videos of it. Keep up the good work.
Love the dash. That is sick! If I get a dodge like this then I'm definetly doing that!!!
The sound reminds me of my college days where I used to go by a Tata Bus with Cummins 6BT engine, intercooled.
Where did you get that bezel skin? Same for the ac controls.
Factory option on the Laramies I believe. Mine has it too.
not even that do u see how hes bezel is all wood and not just the inside with black around it check yours
This video is awsome bro, im gonna do one now, you have inspired me ! Sweet rig !
i absolutely love the sound of a cummins turning over i get excited when ever we go anywhere in my uncles dodge.
Its a 6 speed HO motor.
Nice
Girls: OMG PIMPLE POPPING IS SO SATISFYING!!
Guys: Cummins shifting through gears
This video makes me feel so good lol Must be the combination of sunny day, nice enviroment, nice car & a slight breeze :D
MAN I just love hearing the turbo whistle after the gear change and the deep roar of the 5.9 cummins at 3:26

***** they are good on feul unless you drive like a idiot. And stomp on it
i want one for my next vehicle
Do it. But real talk, not comfortable trucks. Similar to riding a church pew down the road.
I love it, sounds great!!
That's one heck of a truck there!
If its hot why is he wearing a hoodie?
with my 4.10's I cant use first im like doing 5mph at 2,000 rpms
I have 3:55 in mine and first gear is damn strong and slow definitely for towing
LOVE THAT SOUND!!!!! The annoyance of shifting the 6 speed is worth the music from that lovely motor. Who needs a sound system when you got a Cummins under the hood.
nice truck gotta love the cummins and the turbo sounds great
MAN trucks have 3 pedals yeah!
Fucking awesome! I'm a Chevy guy, but I hear bad things about duramax and stuff. :/
Plus I love how Cummins sound like semis
+CreeperGuy almost like them only semis are 13 speeds and higher
CreeperGuy because Cummins is better. That's why you hear bad things because they aren't good.
Hell yeah brother ❤️❤️ MY CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL. NV5600 GETTING REBUILT. CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD
Omg that turbo sound is beautiful
fuck... i needa get me a cummins -__-
Get off the damn phone! I hate drivers who do that!!!! I'm the kind of driver who would cut you off for that very reason.

Finally someone that lets there truck build oil pressure before driving!!! Nice rig!!!
jesus that interior is beautiful
can’t beat the sound of a vp 44 24 valve. just make sure you have a damn good transfer fuel pump
The vp 44 is garbage though so I'll stick with my 7.3 unless I get the opportunity to buy a 1st gen W350
That's an awesome sound!
I am sure the one on the cellphone loved to hear that Cummins noice
lol its funny.. its just you shifting through gears but i cant stop watching it tho lol... love the sound of that engine and turbo... since loseing mine i cant stop watching these vids

Thanks austin really appreciate your comment!
ps, is it true the 12v cummins are more relaible than the 24v?
