16 April 1853 - First local train ran between Bori Bunder and Thane.
1854 Mumbai Local extended beyond thane till Kalyan.
1855 Mumbai Local network extended till Vashid in North and Palwasi in South, from kalyan
1878 Dadar Bandra Local line
1888 Victoria Terminus station
1916 Parsik tunnel started which reduced the time of travel between Kalyan and Thane by 10 minutes.
Feb 1925 First electrified 1500v DC train ran between Kurla and VT.
1990 Panvel line started due to construction of Vashi bridge. Electrification was more modernized and boggies could now run on DC and AC both..
