I had this as a kid in mid 90s Long gone to history.
Your reviews make these toys fun again and not just collector's items. Great work as always.
Thanks! Have a good one.
I have an army of gijoes , vehicles and fighter jet (tomcat) from my childhood in the 1990s, my parents kept all my toys in nearly mint condition, just never saw this shuttle thanks for sharing !
stunning looking toy
Hi Micheal great video about The G.I. Joe Crusader Space Shuttle with astronaut Payload(1989) Keep them coming, Also your latest Video was magnificent, Officially the best crossover between The Joe's & The Autobots especially Cosmos, Also Great video! Seeing your videos always gives me nostalgic feelings and fond/cherished memories from a simpler time. I just want to thank you for that little time capsule of youthful exuberance you're able to give not just me but everyone that follows you. Also The G.I. Joe Crusader is one of my favorite G. I. Joe Vehicles but one of my Best G.I. Joe Vehicles of all time, Also Payload is not only one of my favorite G.I. Joe's but also one of my favorite G.I. Joe's of all time, Also Very nicely done presentation, my friend! The extra effort you still put into the "Adventure" scenes was well worth it that shuttle launch into orbit was not only epic but outstanding,🙂, Also Payload(Mark J. Morgan) Primary Military Specialty:(as of 2023): Astronaut, Secondary Military Specialty(as of 2023):Fixed Wing Pilot, Birthplace(as of 2023): Cape Canaveral, Florida, Affiliation(as of 2023): G.I. Joe, Also that was still too much fun! Thanks for all the work on this! It was like live-action G.I. Joe cartoon with figures, Also Wow! You did amazing but remarkable work on this one, Micheal. Respect and thanks! Also Superb video as always Micheal. Thanks always making these great videos. Also Great but incredible video 👍. Thanks for explaining and showing the differences between the 1987 & 1989 versions, All I can say is: keep up the good work stay safe out there YO JOE and Nerdmaste.🙂👍🟢🦸😎💪🏋️🇺🇲 3:06 am.
man, Payload seems like the guy who grew up with Star Wars, I love it. Think he hums the SW theme while he's at orbit?
Great video bro! Seeing your videos always gives me nostalgic feelings and fond/cherished memories from a simpler time. Just wanted to thank you for that little time capsule of youthful exuberance you're able to give not just me but everyone that follows you.
Thank you kindly.
Cosmos!
Officially the best crossover between the Joes and you-know-who ever done ;)
😁
Dude. Loved the video, felt like a kid watching Sat. morning cartoons. I was one of those kids who was never able to get the FLAGG or the Defiant. I forgot all about the Crusader. I did have a Skystriker and loved playing with it.
Think this was one of my very last vehicles that I got one year at Christmas. I remember having a lot of fun putting it together.
Man the nostalgia is real!
I was in my teens by the time the Crusader came out and my folks had stopped getting me GI Joes(or toys in general) by the time this came out, but not my middle brother. In fact I remember thinking how unfair it was that when it came to the playsets like the Joe HQ, The FLAGG, the Terrordrome, and the Defiant my parents refused to get them because they said "You guys will just get into a fight over them." We kept insisting we wouldn't, I mean we didn't fight over Castle Grayskull when we were younger, but they still refused to get them. However when it was just my middle brother who was getting Joes. They got him the Crusader, The General and the Battle Wagon.....I was like really?. I still collected Joes until 91, but I had to spend my own money on them so something like the Crusader or the General was a bit too much for a teenager with just a part time job and of course I'd use most of my money on other things that teens spend money on.
Anyways I was able to still have an excuse as a teen to have fun with my Joes. Every Sunday was family day at my house. On Friday nights and Saturdays I could do all the teenager stuff I wanted, as long as I stayed out of trouble, but on Sunday it was family day. Most Sundays we'd spend time together as family on Sundays doing something. Of course many Sundays we'd do something but it wouldn't last all day or the folks would just be like lets just have a lazy Sunday so I spent time playing with my younger brothers and of course we'd play with the Joes. Did that right up till I graduated.
So mad I was in high school when these came out. Or it would be in my gi joe room with all the other stuff😥
My brother had this toy when we were kids, always loved it.
I didn't get any of the Joes in this era, but this made me want to become an astronaut as a kid. Thanks @Michael for this awesome toy review!
I didnt know they made any commercials for Special Missions. Any surprisingly the last issue but these were more made for the toys than the comics.
There was a collector of JOE toys on a show called COLLECTORS CALL airing on METV. His collection was worth $2-4 million!
To a classmate of mine, Joel Manzano ADDU. Thank you for your gift of an alloy road bike tire pump. The furniture tv made me sub 😂 nostalgic man.
I loved this toy as a kid! Such a great spaceship.
This was by far my favorite toy when I was a kid.
Still own mine. And the hover craft. Kids love them today.
Wow! You did amazing work on this one, dude. Respect. And thanks!
Thank you kindly, happy you enjoyed it. 🤝
Wow. I was 17 when this hit. Too old but will resume to collecting once my fortunes hit.
Very cool! Never had this one when growing up. Love your videos!
Fantastic toy. I was lucky to get both the Defiant launch complex and Crusader thanks to a clearance sale.
Classified that beast!!!
That would be huge!
I had the big one with the booster base! got this a couple Christmas after. loved this toy. lol
The Crusader captured all of those times I gave that "Joes in Space" battlecry! Thanks for this awesome review. I think this will be a grail piece to renforce my love and passion for "Reaching to the Stars and Beyond" with my own business adventure at Sector 9 Techonologies.
Thanks Droz! Glad you enjoyed it.
Got mint in box in the mid 90's for cheap. Still have it!
Getting ready to sell my complete one in box! Awesome review sir! You add a lot to many of our collection efforts! Thank you!
That’s a nice video on that shuttle. I was 15 and out of Joes then, so I didn’t even realize it had come out
Thank you kindly.
A wild Cosmos appears!
I appreciate the time and effort that you put into your videos, brother! NERMASTE!
I had the Crusader and took great pleasure landing it on my friends Flagg. More often than not, though, the Crusader was piloted by the Galoob Star Trek TNG crew.
That's a great idea. I forgot the Galoob Trek figures would fit in the Crusader/Defiant.
SUperb video as always, Michael. Thanks always for making these great videos.
Thank you, glad you enjoy them.
I still remember the day I got my crusader. I was at the old air force base for a doctors appointment. I found twenty bucks so asked my mom if we could go to the px. There it was on sale and I got it for exactly twenty bucks.
Awesome as always!
Thanks!
I really enjoy your reviews! Thanks for doing them :)
Thank you, glad you enjoyed. 🤝
Very nicely done presentation, my dude! The extra effort you put into the “adventure” scenes was well worth it; that shuttle launch into orbit was epic. 😎👍
Thank you, happy that you enjoyed it. Yo Joe!
OMG Michael, that's a blast from the past, a true Gem ,nerdmaste Michael 😢
Thank you, much appreciate. Have a great weekend!
Wow, I was pretty far out of toys when this appeared, but I would have absolutely LOST IT for this toy when I was a kid. Right up my street. Nice review, Mike!
Thanks! So much more than a 'lazy repaint.' A lot of work went into making the Crusader stand on its own.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video
I had this when I was a kid.
Lucky!
Great video 👍. Thanks for explaining and showing the differences between the 87 and 89 versions.
Thanks!
I still have this lol
Good video, GI-Joe really was king of the hill when it came to Vehicles.
Thanks!
I thought I was losing my mind. I kept thinking, "where the heck is that star trek music coming from?"
I kept checking to see if I had accidently opened another tab or some popup was playing in the back ground
Great video! I never saw any of the space stuff, I aged out by then, so thanks.
Many thanks. 🤝
love this!
Wow, this one was amazing Mike! I love space in general and this one hit the spot! Very well written and played sir!🙏😁👍
Thank you, brother. Hope you and yours had a great weekend.
@@MichaelMercy Thanks brother! Same you you and yours!🙏
Your special effects are as good as a 80's NASA video !! LOL GREAT VIDEO !!!!
lol Thank you...? 🤪
Fantastic vid as always, brother. Much love 🙏 to you and all my fellow fans on the channel!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Yo Joe!
I remember having the Crusader back in the day always wanted the Defiant back then but I definitely wasn't getting that too expensive so when they did the Crusader a couple of years later it was an excellent substitute plus it had Avenger never knew it was the Night Raven drone until years later
Awesome with Cosmos too
I forgot there were two. I had the defiant first. Wow thanks.
Fred!..because I'm sick of saying Roger!
Awesome review!!!! Thanks for another great video sir!!!
Sweet review sir!
Thank you.
perfection!
This was the best toy ever made!!!!!
Such a fun review, loved it. Always felt the Crusader got a little bit overlooked by many people when talking about the best vehicles from the line. It is a shame that it doesn't hook up properly to the booster like Defiant, but it's still a worthy vehicle overall.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
LED afterburners would have been a nice addition
The scout ship needs a redesign so that other figures can sit inside.
I genuinely laughed when Cosmos was the satellite..............lol well done.
Night Raven drone fighter recoloured … never seen this toy before
I tend to prefer '82 - '86 GI Joe, but there were still some great pieces here and there after the glory years. The Crusader was one of them; it was really cool.
My thoughts exactly. It was a great consolation to those who couldn't have the Defiant.
It's still bizarre we only have two Joe movies...
BAD A$$$$ !! Love the back drop video launching into space from earth !!!
Thanks!
I got the Defiant used and the shuttle part was pretty messed up. The Crusader was awesome with it's extra ship. I put the metal clip from the broken shuttle on the Crusader
@2:18 He looked Africa American in the first picture up in the right hand corner too. The texture of his hair remained the same in both versions and all the rest of his facial features... Only his skin is darker... but that could have been a lighting / shading thing by the artist mishandled in the first appearance.
nice
Crusader: (Exists)
Me With Intentions To Make It An Action Force Space Force Vehicle With The British Flag Proudly On Both Sides Of The Top And Bottom:
Upgrades, People. Upgrades.
I always had countdown fly the scout shuttle
I wonder if anyone is scanning and printing these awesome toys.
never knew this one
Even on in a toy store basement not in great shape but not totally a lost cause might pick it up and get as much completed
I really wanted the Defiant leading up to Christmas 1987. In retrospect, I don't think it would have had much play value what with the tanks and the troops and whatnot and I am glad I did not get it. (I got a Mamba instead, and right after Christmas, my begging was focused on a Nintendo Entertainment System.) This Crusader would have been a better alternative but I was focused on other vehicles.
My neighbor had The Defiant: Space Vehicle Launch Complex which included the Crusader? (Defiant Shuttle). It's amazing, and big. Does this mean we'll get The History of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (1988 Edition) soon? 🙏
The shuttle included with the Defiant complex was called the Defiant as well. The Crusader was the retool of that shuttle 2 years later.
@@MichaelMercy Thanks. 👍
Neat.
Love it. Why bother even having toys if you don't intend to play with them?
Exactly.
King Bong 🦍
Now thats a toy.
Tremendous! Honestly as a guy with no dog in the fight, the Crusader looks like more fun to play with than the Defiant. But, as Michael Cole says about Shawn Michaels, Defiant to the end!
It's certainly more durable thanks to the canopy that just pops off instead of the arm that lifts it off and the Avenger in the cargo bay instead of the brittle mechanical arm. If Cole had known about this thing, his call would have been, "Crusader to the end!" after the slap.
Minty
Lol @ Cosmo....
Always needing to be rescued.
@@MichaelMercy My brother actually had him. Only space GI Joe figure I had was Astro Viper.
Putins revenge.
