In PHX AZ, you have to have a cage setup. We have to haul all of our debris off ourselves. 95% of my properties are xeriscaped, so no grass to mulch clippings. Most yards are rock
Hi, Kevin. Your setup is almost identical to the setup I have settled in on for my business. I prefer the open trailer system for speed in grabbing equipment, cost savings, cooling engines, and versatility as a landscape trailer. Both enclosed and open trailers have their advantages, but I have been very happy with the open system. Nice setup.
Great video thanks for making it . I'm using an open trl. looking to get a closed in trl. all your points were spot on. my only reason I'm thinking enclosed is when it rains over night . right now I'm running out putting away my blower , I have rain covers for the edgers ( only have 2 on the trl) and covers for the lawn mowers , 21 , 33 , ride on ..
interest in the rake , broom, shovel, holder .
But over all you have a great set . best of luck
Yes Kevin finally back on youtube. Like you brother glad I went to a open trailer this year as well. Always worried about thieves but now that I have greentouch racks I don’t worry about it as much.
The first weed eater that I bought was a Ryobi which I burned through 2 of em and then I was able to afford an Echo .
Later during the end of my first year , I ran out of work so I went to work for someone else & he had Shindaiwa T27’s .
A whole lot more power and he told me that I had 2 weeks learn how to use it or he’d have to let me go . I learned it in a week .
Anyways I later bought my own new Shindaiwa T27’s and that’s the one model that I’ve always stuck with .
Their filter just keeps on ticking and the unit is a beast .
Nice my friend! Another good point about an enclosed trailer is it keeps the sun from fading everything and it stays new looking longer. Still looking forward to the video on the new truck!
Great video! Thanks for the support!
If you want to run the blower on the outside of the trailer, you could always try putting it in the front. Above the tongue of the trailer and a little towards curbside. It might be more convenient, just a thought!
Keep doing what your doing, the videos are great👍🏻
Cool set-up Kev.. 👏👌👍😉
Awesome setup! I have a small little 5x8 tractor supply utility trailer which is nice but it’s too small. One thing I would do differently if I had your setup just out of personal choice is ide move the gas cans and put a big business sign with logo there. Also ide move the water jug to the right of the leaf blower so it doesn’t hang out. Great video thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to upgrade my setup to a larger trailer like this someday.
Yay you got a new truck
Nice setup Kev.
Nice set up man!
hey kev love the setup, i will check out green touch
We love our open trailer......but I'm not sure I'd like the 4' sides. We have 2' sides and it makes grabbing stuff out of the trailer a breeze.
I use an enclosed trailer as my lawn care business is a side, solo business. For me to get off my regular job and go 'knock out' a lawn, it is easiest for me to hook up to it and go without having to load or unload a trailer since I don't have enough extra garage space to back into for security of an enclosed trailer. I also like the better security of my equipment for when I am in the backyard of a customer's place and I can't always keep an eye on my equipment. I do my business in more of a city environment that rural, so theft is more of a concern for me than others I would suppose.---Just putting in my two cents for those just getting started and thinking about making a purchase.
I use both I like open if I’m going out of town and inclose if I’m staying in my home town and the inclose has ac and and heat and my open if I use the bob cat or dingo.. but with inclose you list what you can do and open you can get name done on it even tho my truck list what I do and parking some time I park in drive ways or the side of the road or I park at a public parking lot like fast food and ride the mowers down but that’s why I have my two truck and have two teams
Yay Kev is back on CZcams!
i guess I'm kind of randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Apollo Alaric try FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
@Apollo Alaric I would suggest flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
Enjoy your videos, I’m a lawn mowing contractor in Australia I’m looking at upgrading my Trailer just wondering what size your trailer is and where do you put any green waste you collect when you have your equipment on board. Cheers.
Nice setup
That is one awesome trailer!
zepplin810 thanks!
awesome Kevin! Perhaps you may consider a part time employee right now. This way he's trained up soon enough to where you can take on projects with the skid steer loader.
Great video man 👍👍👍
What is the best echo dealer near the Benton and Bryant area
Nice video Kevin! Interesting to hear your thoughts on the comparison on the two. There are definitely pros and cons to each and is all about preference. Keep up the good work!
Fence Armor thanks! Have a great 4th! 🇺🇸
You are very welcome! Thank you, you have a great 4th as well! 🇺🇸
Kevin, nicely done.
Glad to see the open trailer worked out.
Camera sees all, shore up your trailer power cable before a rewire job is necessary. More than likely for this video only.
I like the location of the blower ( more work for you?) way more for them.
best of luck thanks for sharing.
S.
BTW, tie-down system is fantastic. Perhaps others will take note.
Scott f it’s really no extra work for me. Other than having to walk into the trailer to get it. I had stepped over the front of the trailer and hit the cable. It’s not normal that low. Thanks for watching out for me! 👍🏻👍🏻
Keep vids coming
A man needs a big shop, big enough for the trailer, truck, plow, second trailer, classic car project, a service bay, water. The end.
Nice .do your mowers have bags?or do customers even ask for that
I use a steel Gooseneck livestock trailer for my lawn care setup.
There are some guy around my town that use livestock trailers.
I like the security of having my equipment locked up and put away!
How big are the trailer sides.
Awesome trailer! I do have an enclosed 6x12 same as yours. I will buy a open one as well, especially because you can use it as a dump trailer when need it. What specs is this trailer? Did you buy it online? I like the height of it. Thank you for the video. Cheers.
Where did you buy that trailer?
So what are the specs for this trailer?
Sweet vid man. Within the last year I bought an open mesh trailer, similar to yours. I have been wondering how to get racks on there since it is a mesh and not a regular utility trailer. Might be a stupid question but did you buy open or closed trailer racks? I want the same setup with those weed eaters but I want to make sure I am buying the correct kit for being able to mount it on a MESH trailer, just like yours. you know what I mean? I haven't seen this before and have been looking for someone to show me how to do it. With those gas can racks - did you simply mount them into the wheel well or how did you mount them? Thanks much!
Lou Ruggiero you can pick up all of the same racks I used at turfntools.com and use code fallriver10 to get 10% off. I did mount the gas can down with bolts that came with the kit. Hope this helps you out.
I like enclosed. No unloading. If no garage or building. Rain and weather. Or tarp it all.
Nicely done video - more specifics on the trailer and the hitch and brand/model/dimensions of the trailer. Also - the ramp doesn't appear to have anything to assist you to raise it. Won't the trailer accommodate that hydraulic lift? Will be looking at your channel in the future because am finding mowing to be an enjoyable enterprise and something that is self funding from gross receipts. Also, if/when you decide to do a video on truck and hitch set up, I'll be sure to study that also. Thank you
What do yo do about fuel cans in the sunlight mine swell up and really need to be vented
Had the same problem. Just stuck the pocket knife in it about an inch. (Near the handle) been fine since
I run an open trailer also. I don't have a back up camera and it can be a pain. Is there one you use and recommend?
I bought a new radio with a camera input jack a couple years back and a license plate camera. I ran wiring under the pickup, up through the engine compartment, through the firewall, and into the cab. If you get a radio with a separate button to go to that input you don't need to wire it in to where you have to be in reverse for you to view the camera feed. It sure makes attaching the trailer a breeze!
mowers bake in the sun!
What make of trailer is this?
What’s the driveway on you trailer With nothing on it ?
Nice one. How’s the heat treating ya? It’s been a pisser of a week.
What’s the driveway on you trailer With nothing on it
Be careful with the transmission in that dodge.
RC Lawncare they are definitely not as strong as the ford or Chevy transmissions but as long as you don’t get them hot or do a lot of boosted launches they are fine
I thought chevy transmissions were worse
If it were me ,I would make a small swing out gate on the side with the blower rack mounted on the inside of the swing gate. That way you don't have to drop the gate to get to the blower....I think you said the word "trailer" in this video like 47 times or something Lol 😀...Just kidding bro!
Sweet set up, bro! I have a 6.5x16 ft open landscaping style trailer now and am thinking about going to a 7x16 or 8.5x16 enclosed next year!
All I run shindaiwa weedeaters on my jobs
I have an open trailer for years and I agree with the heat issue especially down here in FL But the main reason I don't care for them and I see it all the time is that you guys with enclose trailer pull out all your mowers to gas them up taking up space and time on the gas pump and that enfuriates other customers. Time means money.
When’s you get a Ram?
I got it a few months ago.
I wanted a whole view of it
You get a new truck Kevin?
Sorry I Responded to this video on your other Open Trailer Video by Mistake, But that Comment is for this Video 👍🏻
I use open trailer one day a week when I need two mowers. The rest of the week I used enclosed. I prefer the enclosed for basically two reasones. Weather and security.
My favorite is that when my back is turned, my equipment is safely locked up! Oh yea, probably better than that is simply pulling into the back yard and turning off the key (no putting away equipment into the garage). Course now, if I could put two riders on my trailer I would think that a huge benefit. I often swap riding mowers in the couse of a day. Works out real good for lunches being at the house! Best riding lawn mower ever (don't laugh), franksyardcare.com/1808tremain070518.html .
Can you get me some lawns in bryant ar
trailer manufacturer...???
Trimmer line rack😅
Looks like you are dragging your trailer electrical cord.
U need a bigger shop lol
LAWNFORCE LLC I agree 100% LoL 😂
Them sides are way to high for me
Enclosed trailers are good for keeping equipment out of the rain, and in theory, better for theft prevention, which I don't think is always the case. If you don't lock up the enclosed trailer the thief will get in easily, but they can break locks. If they're already in the enclosed trailer you can't see them, unlike an open trailer you can see them instantly (obviously). So in my opinion an enclosed trailer can actually be worse for theft, for that reason. Oh, and they're more expensive and if a thief is really really really motivated to steal the whole trailer and all the equipment, they'll cut the lock and take it all, open or enclosed. Not saying either is right or wrong but unless you're paranoid about rain I wouldn't buy an enclosed trailer, and probably a million other reasons. Not trying to convince people to ditch all enclosed trailers, this is just my 2 cents.
