100% agree with Yellowstone being number 1. Went there this year even saw a Grizzly Bear!

Take the Smokey Mountains to Memphis? They're more than 400 miles away from each other.

No mention of Rocky Mountain National Park? :(
But Atlantic City makes the list at #2 (which I find the most shocking one of this list). Lol

clearly me and watchmojo have different definitions of 'road trips' lol I was looking for something like route 66, the loneliest road, the overseas highway, etc. something along those lines.

I grew up only minutes outside of Atlantic City and I disagree with it being #2. Unless you live in NY or PA then you should go to Vegas.

Am I the only one that doesn't see these as "Road Trips"? I mean, how is going to Atlantic City a road trip? A road trip is driving from one place to another, like going from NYC round New England, and to Boston, or from New Orleans to Big Bend, It's not staying in one location. The point of a "Road Trip" is to be on the ROAD.

Québec City : a 3 hour drive from the US takes you to Europe.

Most US families aren't going to take a road trip somewhere that requires a passport because sadly most of them don't have them.

Sophie June There’s still a large population that has passports. Or anyone can get one anytime they want. I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t have a passport

Yellowstone is pretty, but all of their roads are way, way too small and if ANY wildlife is close to the roads (usually bison) it causes traffic jams that can take forever to get through because almost everyone in line wants to stop and take tons of photos.

As someone who lives in NJ, Atlantic City is a weak choice for a top 10 destination. So many better, cleaner places to see. It’s not exactly a “family” spot.

Any suggestions? I need to cross NJ off my 50 states list and was thinking of visiting Atlantic City although I have no kids.

Umm... yeah, from my own experience and the fascinating stories I've heard from others, I don't think I'd put New Orleans (especially the French Quarter/Louie Armstrong Park area) into the Family Road Trip list! 😂

New Orleans just had a shooting in the French Quarter a month after I commented on it... I'll think I'll keep my opinion about it for now.

  • @mypov7157

This is a terrible list. I would not include New Orleans, Santa Fe, Memphis or Seattle (homeless and drug addict mecca) as "family friendly" destinations, and Atlantic City, a gambling city perfect for a "family" vacation, are you kidding me? This list is clearly put together by people who do not have children. There are plenty of much better choices, like all our national parks incl. the Black Hills forest in South Dakota, Grand Teton, Yosemite, any number of national parks in Utah incl. Zion, Bryce, Canyonland, Arches. And what about Niagara Falls? One of the 7 Wonders of the World right here in the US. The only cities I would say are good for children are Washington D.C. and Boston, lots of history there. My pick for #1 family vacation destination is Mt. Rushmore, pictures and videos simply do not do it justice, the place is simply majestic and every American should see it at least once.

Weirdest thing ever. My half-sister just proposed a vacation between her, me, our mom...and her paternal side. _Us..._ with her dad, stepmom, and two brothers?? What the heII is she thinking? Except for my mom and her dad, Mom and I have no relation with the other side. I don't even talk to them. They're *_just_* my half-sister's family; they're exclusively hers, not mine. I don't want to go on vacation with them, because they don't relate to me at all. No relation, no relationship. Why didn't my sister just plan a trip with her paternal side and another trip for us three, two separate (and much more appropriate) family vacations? Gee...and I used to think she was wise and rational.

The inclusion of Memphis, Nawlins, and Atlantic City are questionable at best. Perhaps you should remove the word “family” from your title.

    • @KuroshiKun
      @KuroshiKun Před 3 lety

that and these aren't really "family road trips" moreso 'places you should visit on a family vacation'
