I actually LOVE Kush's verbal diarrhea. It shows his brain at work as he makes decisions about ingredients and flavors. He's such a fast mover too. It's very entertaining. He and Ebbers together in the kitchen bounce off each other so well. This is a great pairing. It would have been great to have Slater do the judging.
It’s one way to get inside a chefs brain!
@@SortedFood We need Kush in a Pass it on battle!!
For real! It's actually helped me in my Kindergarten grade cooking, lol.
Wait yeah Slater is literally in the kitchen.. What do they mean they ran out of people??!
They NEED to get Kush into Pass It On battles.
Why do I see that as being so chaotic? Especially if he went after Ben “What did he do? Let me just forget all of this and start over”
That would be amazing. I feel like he might troll the rest
I can't wait.
Start and finish with a chef, golden !
They need a CHEFs ONLY pass it on
Ben did such an amazing job playing into Barry's taste buds that it left me speechless that he didn't win this one.
Yeah. Really makes me wonder just how amazing Kush's plate must be.
spoiler alert!! don't do that!!
@@rogeld6677 pretty sure he threw kush a bone. Notice how he went back to the custard.
@@helenswan705 bruh just watch the video before you read the comments. Problem solved
Sometimes you want your favorite food in your favorite way and sometimes you want something that makes you experience something new and exciting and I think Kush managed to do that with that bomb sausage, the unique egg and that rhubarb beet ketchup
It's so funny that they talk about cooking for Barry like he's the world's fussiest toddler. Great job everyone.
'world's fussiest toddler' BEST description of our Baz
@@Annie1962, why do you say that? He gets a bit hysterical when given something he perceives as nasty-don't we all?
I can't recall him balking at dishes using conventional ingredients/spices. He might not care for the dish but he tastes it.
@@bcayeIt was clearly a light-hearted roast at someone we know would never take such a light-hearted roast as real offense. So there's no need to clutch at pearls on his behalf.
Casually having 60 tortillas needs to be discussed
👀
The man likes his tacos. lol
Likely bought them from a factory.50-60 stacks are like one of the smallest common amounts. Like ground meat being a pound/500 grams a portion etc. Would not be surprised if it cost less than 3 pounds sterling.
they keep really well. about a month in the fridge, a couple more in the freezer before the quality drops. Get a good quality tortilla, or make them yourself in bulk, and you can keep it for a while. They're great for all sorts of recipes. I'll only make something with them every week or two, but I still get 20-40 at a time because they keep well.
No it need not be discussed, tortillas have good shelf life and are great for so many snacks and dinners!
Absolutely love Kush’s energy on camera! Also the line “taking a leaf out of your book…..as in doing too much” was top tier.
Kush is learning quick!
@@SortedFood I think he's done learning: toss him in front of the camera, he'll manage nicely.
@@SortedFood Indeed, he is reaching working temperature. 🚂 "CHO! CHOOOOO! Martha Frogger!"
I tell you what watching Ben and Kush rushing around the kitchen and making up dishes as they go along, really makes you realise they are both absolutely incredible at there jobs
They really love what they do 🫶
their*
I think the best, most relatable, part is that both chefs keep being asked "and where is this delicious thing you're making going?" and the chefs just say "eh, I'm still working on that bit"
I mean, that's explorative cooking in a nut shell
I want to see a Chef v Chef v Chef v Chef battle royale between Ben, Kush, Slater, and James with the normals picking the ingredients for each round
Or a chefs only pass it on
Kush and Ben together is genuinely like the Pass It On with normals personality wise but with cheffy techers
Surely we're at a stage where an Ebbers, Kush, Slater, Poppy and James pass it on could happen?
@@northernanorak That would be the dream. But, we need huge curveballs to sabotage them along the way so that the dish morphs at every swap. Have the normals taste and it will be awesome.
@@lewismaddock1654 Hmm, maybe start with ingredients that don't go together so they can't go with any sort of normal plan?
@@lewismaddock1654 Here's an idea: Switch out available ingredients with every chef. 😈
@@lewismaddock1654 or they could just do a nice dish, curveballs are so fckin forced fun
I think because it is Slater's fridge ingredients we needed to see him try the dishes as well! I also would have liked to see what his plans were for some of the ingredients.
I feel like Ben deserves extra credit for making that beautiful custard.
Agree & agree! Hope we see more of him in the future but happy he is involved. Maybe we could add a Chef's Saturday special with Ben, Kush and Slater.
I really wanted to hear what Slater was planning to make. Or what he would have made in the hour. And what he thought after tasting.
Lol and also if it was sheep cheese.
Kush, thank you so much for stepping in front of the camera more often. I can only imagine that it's not easy, but dang I enjoy it when you do. It takes a team to keep Ben in check 😀
This is so much like a classic Sorted Food episode. No scripted BS, just people cooking and chatting and it's amazing. This is what I'm here for.
with the way Barry was making heart eyes at that custard I'm surprised that the other dish won
Probably thought Ben was putting his tastes in a box and instinctively rebelled.
Its like watching 2 different types of artists. Ebbers has it all planned out like an architect and Kush was working it out as he went along like an improvised piece.
Great observation 😆
cool great, so Kush can go after Jamie in the pass it on, got it.
Kush seems to be finding his stride in front of the cam. Less awkward, a lot more natural and good humor. I´m glad You are back to 2 Chefs again, cause that was a winning formular, and he plays well off of Ben. Now you need to add him to pass it on
He's naturally that way seems like, reminds me of W2S from that group.
Formularrrrrr.
#justiceforkush
Yeah my comment as well, i miss James but loving Kush sliding into that role.
We all miss James, but we couldn't ask for a better substitute with Kush! I love the way he cooks, it's so fun to watch.
James is anticipated for his sassiness. I love his Pass It On episodes but not his Chef vs Chef battles. Kush is the complete opposite. It's better to sass him. And I love his 2-chef videos, his chemistry with Ben is amazing. But his Pass It On content is just okay.
Maybe give it time he'll be an all-rounder.
The difference between chefs and normals in a battle: the normals wouldn’t consider saying that you’re going to use an appliance as dibs and then rush to get their ingredients in there first. 😂
Kush's moderately chaotic energy is fantastic.
Indeed!
I love the addition of kush to the in front of the camera group. Ben is like the dad of the group, you listen to him passively. When James was on, he was the cool older brother or the cool uncle. Kush is the frustrated mom. A total mess but you love them regardless because they do so much and you can’t help but appreciate them.
As a proud Canadian, i love Mikes poutine shirt. Haha
Cheers everybody, hope you're all taking care.
I came for @sorted and stayed for the poutine! thanks for the Canadian shoutout!
Either Slater has Mexican connections or he is on one hell of a Mexican food binge. He has Yucatecan sauces and I know how hard it is to get good quality tortillas like that. Never thought id get such clue into someone's life from a couple ingredients.
Slater makes Pallela burritos in his spare time.
@@WesDuplantier203 paella?
@@WesDuplantier203that's Jamie
It's so great to see Ebbers sweating, not from stress (or so it seemed), but from hard work in the kitchen! A man in his element. And Kush just taking it all in stride, as he does. Two sides of the same coin, both educational, for different reasons, for us viewers. Excellent as always!!
watching 2 people who have dedicated their lives to learning their craft perform that craft under pressure is the closest I'll ever be to becoming a sports fan
Also, Kush's out-loud thinking was fascinating, as is the fact they both admitted to making it up as they go. They knew what each ingredient could potentially do, went in a general direction, trusting that no matter the destination will be, it will be at least be delicious
Amazing video!
Edit: #justiceforkush
Absolutely loving the ingredients from Slaters fridge. I do have one question though: how many tortillas is too many to have on hand? 😂
Can you ever have enough tortillas though? 😂
@@SortedFoodLATAM resident! You can never have too many!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
@@SortedFoodmy mind says no, my belly however has a different opinion from time to time. 😅
@@SortedFood 60 tortillas is one Taco Tuesday in my family. We are two adults and 3 kids but Taco Tuesdays my brothers usually invite themselves. So +2 adults. And left overs can be turned into mini snacking quesadillas or into a dessert.
61, apparently
That was great fun. A return to old strengths. Loved to see the two very different takes on this selection of ingredients. For me the best part are these small tricks: never would I have thought to fry off poached eggs, but the "I don't like the wet slob" resonated; or using the beetroot to sweeten the ketchup! I hope we'll see more of the chefs showing off again in the future
I love rewatching these videos. Seeing Ebbers and Kush in the kitchen together is like watching a ballet. How they work around, with, and against each other is pure poetry.
the little "WHEE" when Kush made the stove sizzle
Kush needs his own chef jacket, I love seeing him on screen. He completes the boys really well.
they cook so fast and chaotically and yet their work area is clean
"hashtag......Justice for Kush" that was hysterical!! These Chef vs. Chef are quickly becoming my favorite format.....love them!
Their energy is unmatched 🤪
Kush taking something out of the bag, smelling it, then saying sagely "Clingfilm" made me fucking laugh really hard.
Barry being excited by the spread that awaits him is precious ❤
would love to see the 3 chefs go head to head to head like the normals usually do!
A lot more kush lately and I'm loving it!
Love this combo! Kush and Ben in the kitchen together is so fascinating to watch, and I think we're all here for Kush's verbal diarrhoea xD
I think it would have been really funny if they pulled a switcheroo and had Slater taste what they had made from his fridge
Mike always seems like such a good friend. Always encouraging the rest of the guys
Can kush just become part of the main crew, since James is gone we need a another chef to balance out the normals having to deal with Barry XD
I would love a pass it on with Ben, Kush, James and any random chef that dares to join the chaos. 😮🎉
Surely it should be Slater?!
So glad Kush has been on this side of the camera more often recently. He does a great job!
So much talent! Of course Barry has to choose, but it was a delight to watch both chefs just cooking up a storm with such a choice of ingredients. Let’s do something like this again!
Its so interesting seeing 2 chefs cook with each other. Everything seems to be much less chaotic while accomplishing way more than with 2 normal people together.
Kush sounds like he’s reprimanding a naughty dog when Slater arrived.
Kush being front of camera more is such a fantastic addition to what is already my favourite CZcams channel in existence.
I’d love a Chef pass it on - with Slater , Kush, Ebbers, Poppy and James.
Lamb and blackberry is a popular combination here in the US, especially in the Southern Appalachians.
Yuuuuuum!
I love Kush thinking out loud, he's not only entertaining but educational at the same time!
I will definitely try those fried poached eggs, undercooked whites are my nightmare.
I'm also stealing "you chef off" for a T-shirt.
#justiceforKush
I love how different Kush and Ebbers cook. Ebbers seems so calm, elegant and Kush is like BOOM, POW, let`s WORK!
I know there are 3 chefs involved in this, but even per chef, this is the most cheffy you've been in a while
Suggestion: Have the chefs draft the ingredients one at a time for their dish
Kush taking a huge sniff of one of the ingredients only to return with 'clingfilm' might've made this video for me
oh my god Kush sniffing an ingredient and then saying it was cling film killed me
Love it how Kush sniffs on everything. It's so nice to see someone else doing that. Everyone around me always goes like: Did you just smell that? YES I did! I do that when shopping too - when stuff doesn't smell good I won't buy it (and by good I mean good for the item - sure, ripe cheese isn't exactly rose petals, but it has to smell good for ripe cheese).
Totally unrelated to the video we have here but Mike’s T-Shirt (iconic among many others) is the MVP. It’s fab.
It’s a great choice huh?
@@SortedFoodloved it!❤❤❤❤❤
So much fun. LOVE the editing when Bas was tasting the custard. Too funny. the description of the dishes really was great. Thanks Slater for such an eclectic selection of ingredients. Love this series
6:26 ebbers could never imagine getting away with that line lol
"Please step forward."
* proceeds to shimmy forward *
Ebbers talking in the third person 😂😂😂
Man, their dynamic is great. Also, wow. How did y’all pull off this kind of food in 1 hr. Barry is one lucky guy here…
Loved every minute of this, but feel that Barry knew that no one knows his tongue like Ben and purposefully gave the win to Kush.
Kush is very quickly becoming my favorite. Whover had the idea to keep this guy off the screen for so long did us all a disservice.
James would be very proud of this. He should judge these chef vs chef again. Test their skills with a specific recipe category and let them decide what works.
This was amazing, it was so nice of you to put Kush to the front desk. Also, frying off those poached eggs was something that I will absolutely try once I had learnt to cook perfect poached eggs. Both chefs did a great job, well done!
One of these days we NEED to have a chef v chef v chef battle. Slater would be interesting but he seems to prefer to do the off-camera behind-the-scenes stuff outside of the sharing videos. So really there is only one answer. Whenever he's next available, the ultimate slobber-knocker: Ben Ebberel vs Kush Bhasin vs James Currie.
I knew Kush was going to win when he kept leaving the burner on with Barry as the judge… 😂
Yes! I love these fridge battles 😊.
What a fantastic duo! A festival of ideas) Yet, this is presumably the last kitchen in the world where merengue is made with a hand whisk
Kush has such a great screen presence. Really glad to be seeing more and more of him. All of your genuine friendships really shows and enhances the videos, love it.
Really enjoying Kush! He plays off Ben fantastically!!
Given that it was Slater's fridge, I wish we had seen his taste and response.
You’re right, it would have been good to get Slaters reaction too.
Bring 👏 back 👏 the 👏 bloopers 👏
Considering Ebbers took dibs on a couple of items, Kush smashed it 👍
He really did!
"YOU chef off!" LOL
Gotta love the consistency in uploads! I'm trying to lose some weight, and watching Sorted always leaves me hungry. So now I only watch as I have a planned meal. Early dinner it is!
I'm definitely stealing that egg technique. That's brillient.
It’s genius!
More chef on chef action is what this channel needs.
We need Kush to be a main stay cast member at this point. He adds so much to what ever video he's in.
Ben you always amaze me. I try to tackle day to day meals as you do. Clear as I go is my favorite because at the end you have a dish and zero mess, it's magic. Love your show, so wish I could see your summer spectacular but I live far away.
YEESIR! I adore seeing more of Kush vs Ben! This battles always make my day!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Im so glad Kush has become a mainstay on the channel, he is such a character
Endless love for the recent addition of Kush and Slater into videos! Great way to mix it up and refresh content👌 #justiceforkush
Great job by both. Kush being in front of the camera is great. Slater also has a chaotic energy that is fun - a professional Huddlestorm? Bring James back for a visit and a 7 person pass it on - Ben, Barry, Kush, Mike, Slater, Jamie, and James finishes. Theme that each person has to add something besides herbs and spices.
As someone who doesn’t sleep a lot, Kush’s rambling felt rather relatable lol
Ben - the fact you made something you knew Barry would love and he immediately noticed it was his favorite flavors was the purest form of love between two lads I've ever seen. 💕
I love how they've completely given up with the whole "being objective when judging" when a normal judges and gone compltely on the "what this person likes" strategy. Honestly, half the time, it felt like that anyway, so fair play😂
Kush has the plating skills of a food god 👌
Would be cool to also have Slater's commentary to the final results!
Yes! Just been going back over your historic stuff and the battles are by far my favourite of your content style. Just on the intro now as I watch this and looking forward to it!
Gotta say, good on Barry for going with what he thought was better, instead of what laser-focused on his exact interests. Not that I would've blamed him, playing to the judge is perfectly valid, but good on him for being objective.
I’m here before anyone else comments on Mike’s Poutine shirt 🤩
Those eggs from Kush seem super interesting and something I had never seen or really thought of before. Not something I think I'd be able to pull off or know how to use in a dish but definitely interesting.
Ebbers has met his match. He brings things from his allotment, while Kush brings his own spices.
Ebbers straight for the wine! 😂
Video just started, but love the ingredients. Bottarga; smoked grey mullet or bluefin tuna roe (or cod), is a fav of mine. Lovely over some pasta pishes or even better, finely grated over scrambled eggs with toast! 😋
I do really love these kind of cooking videos from you all! Brings some good ideas to my kitchen 😊
Glad you enjoy them 😁
@@SortedFoodYou guys are the Best!❤❤❤❤❤
Dude, the poached fried egg is one hell of a move.
God: how much improv talent do you want?
Kush: yes
This was so much fun to watch. Loved hearing the chefs talk through their ideas. All the dishes looked amazing! Need to try some preserved lemons.
