Love seeing Kush coming on camera more and more- his personality fits in so well with the rest of the boys. I still miss James and hope he will still pop into videos every so often, but it’s nice seeing Kush. A Ben vs Kush vs James 3 way challenge would be awesome!
I was thinking the same thing. And are James and Kush frienemies because James was the OG?
A 3-way would be so good 😂
@@SortedFood uhm
@@davidkim1139 THat response is so in tune for what ebbers and kush have been saying/doing lately.
@@SortedFood serious a threesome?
Kush is a fantastic mixture of the whole team. Ben’s cheffiness, Mike’s huttlestorm, Barry’s pretentiousness and Jamie’s sabotaging.
And he can drop in a bennuendo perfectly!
More Kush is needed. We need a balance to Ben, another viewpoint.
I’ve always said that Ben has the soul of a teacher. Kush, I suspect, has the soul of a naughty school child.
+
I'd add, james sarcasm
Kush brings out a whole new side of Ben. This was genuinely one of the most fun episodes well done boys.
James leaving coincided with Ben losing his swagger. He had no competition or challenge because the normals don’t compare to his ability. Kush being a similarly talented chef gives him that competition again so we can see the swagger in his step again as he strives to be the best against the challenge
Yes, Kush brings so much to this dynamic team. Not just in the skills he has to offer but his personality compliments them beautifully, by being slightly different in the way he thinks, he provides contrast to the group and contrast breeds curiosity.
Ben’s casual “f*** you” after Kush admitted to using all the white wine made me cackle out loud. Their dynamic is clearly extremely familiar and absolutely so much fun.
Feels a sibling rivalry.
and then Kush just smugly going "and my sauce is going to be delicious" LMAO
I LOVE SWEARY BEN 😈💜
TImestamp?
“You assume I have a plan.”
Ah yes, the reminder that though he may be a chef, he’s still Sorted at heart.
And the heart of Sorted
Kush slowly being elevated to "second chef" status. I like it. It's a better dynamic than one chef and three normals.
All the better for some new pios
@@LW-bw8or Now we just need a pass it on with KUSH!!!
I don't want to call him the new James but it seems like the position he's taking up at the moment
Slowly....how a bout fastly already!
The real test will be a Pass It On episode with him.
As long as Kush is happy and comfortable to appear in front of the camera, then by all means YES to more Kush in these long-form videos!! (and the Shorts as well of course!) love the improvising with the broken plate and it's just an absolute joy to see Ben and Kush working in the kitchen together (and against each other)
they have SUCH good chemistry together! the banter between them had me wheezing
Agreed 100% he is an excellent addition to the presenters and too good a fit to stay behind the scenes. Now we just need him in a new Pass It On
That's the big key. Being in front of the camera isn't for everyone. If Kush is okay with it, then that adds a whole new level to the channel. The more I get to see of the food team the more I can at least see what they envision their dishes should be.
My favourite part of this video is how _well_ the chefs share their kitchen/workspace.
Like how Kush actually thought it through and put Ben's sauce in the microwave to keep it insulated/warm - he didn't just stick it somewhere random. Plus, the very fact that they apparently decided to share a pot of boiling water - instead of just boiling another pot! So efficient! And Kush immediately helping Ben fix the sauce. Really enjoyed the vibes. It feels like their training really came through - like they are in "dinner service" mode, two professionals trying to get dishes out of a shared kitchen, rather than "antagonist" mode. I hope the dynamic remains the same in future chef-vs-chef battles.
Also, Kush's humour is so brilliant - that "if anybody knows how to satisfy Barry Taylor it's Ben Ebrell" zinger and "ya we have cooked against each other in tiny kitchens" bit had me actually laughing out loud!
I love how they let their food do the fighting. Still very competitive and banter-y, but the split sauce was an accident. It wasn't intentional sabotage, because it didn't need to be.
This is a great remark!
THIS is what we've all been waiting for ever since Kush started making his presence known.
It’s been a long time coming!
Please do a chef Vs chef again! Kush’s quick thinking with the cracking plate and Ben’s flawless recovery were both spectacular adaptations! This is what it’s all about :)
Amen!!
Yes to this! Also, can we get a surprise visit from a certain James and see a Chef vs Chef vs Chef ultimate battle???
Well, James broke Ben's favorite cutting board (“now he’s got two”), so it’s only fitting that Kush broke a plate. Seems to run in the family, so to speak. This was a fantastic watch.
Ben's casual dropping of F bombs with Kush is an amazing side of him that I hadn't seen before and I am HERE for more of it!
Ebbers gets bleeped a lot more when there’s another chef around and I am here for it! Kush’s vibe is also just so perfect and sassy
WOOO BLEEPY BEN!
I almost forgot that Kush and Ben had known each other for a long time from working in the same kitchens for years, and this video highlighted perfectly their chemistry and playful banter (which I kinda missed after James left) Reaallly love seeing Kush on camera, he's such a natural and his expertise and ideas adds a refreshing new vibe to sorted food! Can't wait to see more of him!
They move around each other so smoothly, you can tell they've cooked together a lot
Jamie’s facial expressions when Kush deskinned the monkfish are priceless. 😂
Kush has SKILLZ 🔥
@@SortedFood he certainly has!
Cooking animals is not for the sensitive. 😬🙈😄
@@SortedFood I'd say his look when Ben broke the plate was better
It’s evident that Ben and Kush have great chemistry together and feel very comfortable sharing the kitchen and helping (or sabotaging) each other. I definitely want to see more videos like this one.
I do appreciate that when Ben is up against a chef his epic neatness unravels a bit and he definitely is pushed waaayyy more than when he battles the Normals.
Kush is on another level than Ben. Ben made the channel, Kush is the prime chef of the house.
I conclude by way of inference. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
There is definitely something there. Kush is the head of the food team and development team, Ben does have his I put but Kush does more of the actual "grunt work" in development of the dishes so he knows exactly where the flavors and dishes can go wrong or fall flat.
@@kvisty2273 OK! I didn't know that. But I figure Ben is better when he is prepared. Surely this goes for Kush, too, but I like his energy.
Seeing both Chefs in a bit of a panic and still ragging each other... Made my day 🤣🤣
Kush: accidentally splits Ben's sauce. Also Kush: accidentally breaks his own plate. did somebody say karma? lol
Barry's face as he pulled apart the plate was honestly one of the best bits of this episode. He knows there's a story and can't wait for it, and that shows the team is still such good friends after all these years. I love it.
The fact they still call eachother "Chef" shows how professional they used to be and still are in the kitchen, briliant to see.
How is no one talking about how insane the split plating was by kush. It was immaculate
It looked incredible. I'm breaking all my plates right now
Kush is just such an absolute treasure and i love that we get to see more of him. I feel like the team missed some high performance competetive banter for a while, and all you guys just play wonderfully off each other. I'm aware that you worked with him for a good while behind the scenes and stuff, but it's amazing how well he just slots in, without any of the awkward 'new guy' energy, giving as well as he gets and just rounding out the ensemble with his own personal style.
Ben and kush have been friends for a loooong time too so thats why they just click so well
Perfectly put
"Watch out, Kush, he's using a bay leaf." Why did this have me laughing until I was crying??? 🤣🤣🤣
It's even funnier now after the bay leaf episode where the chefs proved to the normals just how much bay leaf adds to a dish and they all had to "eat" their words. 😊
I love how Kush really used the monkfish, like nothing went to waste. The skin and bone straight into a stock, awesome to see. I hate it when you see people cook with something expensive and just use the 'pretty' part of it and the rest seems to go to waste. Responsible, ethical and frugal, such a great combo
Monkfish was cheap as dirt within my lifetime and and was used as a cheap stand-in for scallops in a dish.
Finally! This feels like a throw back to Chef v Chef battles with James, and I’ve missed seeing Ben go up against a fellow Chef! The sharing of the monkfish was a good idea. I wondered how the chefs would have done it back when Mike first prepped it back then! Good battle ahead!
So glad you enjoyed it! We’re sure there will be more battles to come 💪
it's a throwback to Chef v Chef but with the energy of Ultimate Normals Battles where there's just _carnage_ everywhere and accidentally-on-purpose sabotage
@@SortedFood get another chef in, and pair them off with normals for a 3 party battle!
Absolutely loving how much more relaxed Ben has been on camera as of late
it's cause we've seen his bum (on the christmas card) :)
19:55 Jamie and Kush both going 'after you' is such a precious interaction
I love it when Mike asked Ebbers whether he's ok after he had to redo what Kush accidentally sabotaged. I just felt a bit touched by the care and concern. I need to learn to do that also in my daily life, just asking people if they are ok and not presuming anything
This is the one we’ve been waiting for!! Hope fully we’ll get a pass it on featuring Kush as well…always fun seeing a chef follow a normal, or a normal completely change what a chef had planned!😂
All i need in live is more videos with Kush! Has been so refreshing and he just fits so well and offers a great matching energy!
More coming!
@@SortedFood YES ☺
As someone who also wears glasses and overheats quickly, I find Ben's glasses apparently fogging up during cool down (at 19:18) hilariously relatable. 🤣
Especially amusing on the hot sauce challenge. He looked like a freshly steamed lobster.
My glasses always fog up when I'm embarrassed 😭
For two chefs that know what they're doing in a kitchen, this was the most stressful episode I've seen in quite some time!
I have never seen Ben so focused. You can tell the pressure was on for the two chefs!
In between all the banter which is hilarious, it's always impressive to see the professional team never be phased by the ingredients but rather instantly they are already working out flavours and combinations for their dish. I know it comes with training and years of experience but it's always interesting to see.
I will always miss James, but Kush's delightful chaos/mischievousness mixed with his sense of justice/kindness/responsibility mixed with his expertise hits a sweet spot that is a delight to see as a part of the team. Can't wait to see more!
Yes! More Ben vs Kush, Kush vs Ben please. No question that Ben elevated his skills to match Kush's expertise. This is a fabulous and respectful rivalry that is immensely entertaining. Sorted is a great channel made better now for Kush being included in front of the camera. Keep it going boys. Great stuff.
Even when Kush breaks a plate in half he makes it ✨aesthetic✨
Yay more Kush! Great to see both chefs in the kitchen battling it out.
It’s been a long time coming.
This is a really lovely relationship/dynamic to watch. You can really see Ben relax and be himself around Kush (reading the Monthly where Kush talks about going to uni with Ebbers and forming an enduring mateship that included checking out restaurants and food together over the years) versus James (who I also liked, but who I always felt was playing up to the lads more). This feels more genuine and as someone who both respects and admires Ben's natural teaching contribution to the channel over the years, it's really nice to see this more relaxed side of him.
Completely agree! I know other people love James but I like this dynamic way more. It feels more fun and positive and there's competitiveness, sure, but it's healthy and has a good dose of camaraderie as well. I also feel Kush is more humble and let's his food speak for his skills, and it looks like the boys enjoy working with him too.
I agree, Kush is more humble and more true friend than James, who was more competitive than friends, both good chefs but way different vibes, I like Kush's honest down to earth mannerism more.
Having watched Sorted for ten years now, I can really see the Kush-influence on the entire team. Loads of small things he does in the kitchen has spread throughout the team. An amazing asset to have for the Sorted-community.
I always watch these episodes where chefs has to adapt to unknown ingredients several times, because it's GOLD to watch all the little hints they give, as to why they make the dicisions they do.
You boys and girls continues to amaze us all, and thank you for your work :)
Loved how Kush just ran with the broken plate and ended up with a 10 out 10 presentation
I love that Kush chose to use the split plate in his presentation! Very creative.
He was doing a Barry 😂
“This is all about maintaining wrist action” said Ebbers sweating
“Have you finished talking? I need that” oh Someone is a bit tense that we have another chef on the channel and is explaining things as well…well that’s awesome 😂 I love how you can see the whole team is really committed to the public. When James had to leave they could have just found another chef to “replace” him and try to keep that diynamic but instead theyve adapted until Kush naturally ended on screen and it works and now Ben is stressed again and it’s funny to watch
Absolutely love Kush getting more screen time and love the chef vs chef battles. Don't know if Kush was expecting to end up in front of the camera this much, but he is an absolute natural at it.
Kush, Ben and James, with Barry, Mike and Jamie and the Food Team in the same video will make a great Infinity War level video.
The Ultimate Chef vs Normal Cook-off Battle
Kush just gave a whole new meaning to serving a deconstructed dish 😂
I feel like people are missing out the bit at the end where Mike does his countdown, Barry is trying to pour his bacon-naise on Kush's dish and Kush is stopping him so he doesn't ruin the meal. Made me laugh🤣
They're like an old married couple, I love it!
They really are 😂
@@SortedFood too bad we missed the wedding! 😁
Love the energy and humor Kush brings! Didn’t realize him and Ben go so far back either. Really great vibe from the whole group together.
Having rewatched this I just noticed that Ben pawned the prepping of the monkfish of to Kush, and considering that Ben said (in the FIsh & Chips budget battle) that he'd never had prepped a whole monkfish, he might've still not done that, and now we've seen two different people do it on camera.
Man it's so satisfying to see Kush and Ben in the kitchen...the prepping, the cleanliness and the confidence is so fun.
Not even one minute in and Kush is already off with the innuendo. Well done! 😂
You can tell both chefs are truly professional when the unexpected happens and they've made decisions to deal with it within a second.
Love it, more please!
That episode was BONKERS in such a great and fantastic way.
If you guys don't do another episode like this again you are 100% robbing the world of greatness
Hearing even Ben's explanations speed up after he was stressed out from the split Baconaise was so funny. They are fumbling just like the Normals usually do.
Watching Kush give Ben grief as a chef (or causing it 😂) is different from the way the normals try to razz him which was an endlessly fun dynamic to watch. Interesting tips and tricks to pick up from both chefs today, plus constant laughter. Really enjoyed this one! (ETA: episode where Baz watches the film on this & reacts? I feel like that would be comedy gold.)
Kush is a great addition. You should put him in a Pass it On!! 🎉🎉
👀
I would have gone for the tortellini, looked yum.
I really hope Kush enjoyed this as much as we did, it was fantastic, bonkers in the best possible way!
So glad he decided to step more into the limelight, he has an adorable chaotic energy and good comedic timing, works well with others and brings a much needed challenge for Ben to stretch his chef skills.
Loved the energy between Kush and Ben! They know each other well and it's great to see their skills, wit, and culinary wisdom go head to head!
Kush's professional skills and knowledge combined with pure chaotic energy is absolute perfection
I'm really enjoying seeing Kush on camera more, his personality meshes so well with the others and he's just a natural fit! Seeing both him and Ben in the kitchen together at the same time really brought out the best in them!
This needs to be a borderline SERIES, with a poll like a week before of what ingredents to use/put in the mystery box. That was one of the more fun videos to watch all the way through that I have seen in awhile, and i mean any video not just this channels.
Kush’s sabotage was perfect! Seeing Ben frantic was amazing because he’s usually so calm.
That cuddle when the time ran out was so cute!! You can tell they've been mates for years - love it!
I absolutely loved this episode. From Kush "sabotaging" Ben, to Kush going with the flow and using the broken plate. Not to mention the whole repertoire between Ben and Kush. IT was one of my favorites by far!
Another compliment for Kush! Seems to be growing more comfortable in front of the camera and definitely adds a very welcome dynamic to the team!
I love how in every chef vs chef battle Ben is doing stuff for the other chef even though it's a competition. "Want some of my artichoke", "Want some boiled eggs?"
One of the best Sorted episodes of all time! We absolutely need more of Kush. Please put Kush in a pass it on video
Kush growing more comfortable in front of the Camera is all we need! I'd love to see Kush, Ben, and James (when he can) do another chef battle. Also Kush breaking things is amazing.
I'm so happy Chef vs Chef battles are back!! Kush matches yall's chaotic energy perfectly, has a great camera presence and it doesn't hurt that he's cute 😁
Looking forward to more Kush videos!!
Kush is an ANIMAL wow, I love the addition of having him in the videos. Kush breaking down the fish was so fun to watch. Ben is always a pleasure! I love this dynamic! It's fun to watch! :)
The Chef banter is an absolute pleasure to listen to.
It's always been one of my favourite things with people I've cooked with for a long time, just jabbering at each other.
Wonderful stuff both of you, and hope to see more!
#TeamKush
Watching these two cook side-by-side was a great time. I'd love to see an extended version to watch all of the chefy tricks/skills that we rushed through or didn't get to see.
Love that Kush ended up being right. No one knows how to please Barry’s tongue like Ben lol.😂😂
Jamie: kush, we did say one plate.
Me: that’s one plate, deconstructed!😂
Guys, this episode was so so much fun. I want to see these as a regular thing! I love the chemistry between Kush and Ben, they’re hilarious! I can’t figure out if they bring out the best each other or the worst in each other. Maybe both.
😂 deconstructed 😂
@@rosehill9537 THANK YOU 😁
I love the running bit about bay leaves being pointless.
More of these please, loved watching the chefs duke it out. Both plates of food look delicious af. My choice might be the tortellini tbh.
I'm so glad to see Kush coming in front of the camera! His food has always looked so good and he's really been providing a great, different perspective to things. I hope he's enjoying being seen as much as we're enjoying seeing him!
Kush stealing the pumpkin at the beginning is comedic genius 😅
If Sorted had a Patreon and put the outtakes/bloopers on there I would pay quite a bit of money to see them. I really miss the outtakes.
Do wonder if there is a thing they have any outtakes worth playing out... or saving up for a video if content dries up
I think they said a while back that there aren't out-takes anymore because they just leave everything in 😂
@@heartshapedisle been doing it that long, nothing goes spectacularly wrong... its part of events
It's awesome seeing Kush establish himself as a regular and it's honestly refreshing to see someone that can put Ben on his back foot once in a while xD (No offense Ebbers)
This was such an absolute treat to watch, y'all did a fabulous job here. Ben and Kush are absolute dynamite together and I loved having the privilege of having this look into their dynamic!
MORE KUSH PLEASE! He was a hurricane in all the best ways. He clearly has great chemistry with the boys, was brilliant on camera and is hilarious!
I love that you guys were battling, but cooking at the same time, not "I make my thing then I leave the kitchen and let the other(s) do their thing". I missed the chaos from multiple people being in the kitchen at the same time (and maybe even trying to be in the way of the others), much more entertaining. thank you
There is this method we use when having to share something that nerfed to be cut to do so.
One person cut, the other chooses his piece first.
Assures a very even cut, without any discussion needed.
20:15 Barry asking to put baconnaise on kush's dish is like going to a restaurant, ordering steak, then asking the chef if you can put ketchup on it
YES KUSH IN A PLANNED BATTLE!! hope for more of this in the future.
This was such a beautifully chaotic episode, Kush is such a perfect fit to the team, I'm so happy he's in more videos now, and absolutely, yes! I would love to see more of this!
Also, Kush in a pass it on please! (Start with him, and end with him maybe? :D)
It's easy to forget how good these guys are. To do all that improvisation, cooking and whilst talking to the camera in 45 mins is insanely impressive.
"Leave it Jay! Freestyle"
"Free...FREESTYLE?!?!"
I think one of the best things about videos like this is seeing people who "know what they're doing" make mistakes. There are too many shows where everything is just "perfect" and it turns away the normals (sometimes). It shows that mistakes can be made and overcome, even by the best of us. the key is to try and do your best and take it all a step at a time. Thanks for another great video and someone frame that broken plate in the kitchen.
Love that the plate broke and it actually made the dish look even better hahaha
Awesome video! “Must be a chef thing” and Ben turning Gordon Ramsey with all the swearing made me cackle and the cracking of the plate won it for me 😂 more chef vs chef please! 😁
Kush has such chemistry with the whole team and the camera that all I can say is more Kush please.
Watched it through with a huge grin on my face because of the Kush on Ben antics and now doing an immediate replay to fully appreciate the cheffy skills 💯 🥇. It's 4.30 am here in Australia 🇦🇺 and I don't care ⏰
Kush had the win on this one, sorry Ebbers. The beautiful pasta, the flavours, the colours, textures, and that's before we even talk about the monkfish.
Please please can we see more of Kush (and Slater if he fancies being on camera) - watching two real chefs like this was absolutely BRILLIANT!!
I LOVE Ben and Kush together. Never imagined I would like a pairing as much as Ben and James. These two have great chemistry. So fun!
Contrarily to the hive I saw Kush struggling after he "helped Ben fix his sauce", he looked really deceived, angry almost. Much love !
Im loving seeing Kush in front of the camera more. His energy is fantastic and he slots in so comfortably with the other personalities. Plus the attitude of normals with the expertise of a chef in the kitchen just leads to carnage.
Was looking forward to seeing more of him after the big christmas event and was not disappointed!
