Yeah if you read the description I had to dub it over because the wind was so bad it sounded horrible aaaand I already did of the trimming and work so I couldn’t simply remake the video LOL #youtuberproblems 😛
i was just gifted a bunch of raspberry shoots (like 6-8ft tall ones) from an older couple and your video was very helpful. im glad to hear I can prune them back a bit :)
your soil in your lawn looks so good! I'm a clay soil gardener who is entirely jealous of that. I bought primocane (fall) raspberries to make my work easier, but I appreciate the info here in case I relent and get floricane ones too. : )
Welllllll that’s only the first foot of soil... after that it’s solid clay. I’ve been Working on adding as much organic material as possible to help increase the viability of the soil over the last three years and there has been a huge improvement from when we first bought the property. Mulch and wood chips work wonders
What made you decide to cut that one cane when you were doing weak and diseased ones? Also wondering if I should be cutting down canes that are bent from heavy snow. I don't like bendy raspberry plants, but I don't want to lose the harvest from them this year.
Thanks for this helpful video. I have watched a few on raspberries but you were the first to really show about pruning and trimming in such a way. I am curious how you like the canes right next to the fence like that, vs in a row you can walk around. I have a fence that faces south, gets full sun and another corner that faces south and west, I’m curious which area would be best for us to grow raspberries.
Okay so I have this 1000+ square feet patch that has been growing for YEARS without maintenance. It has black and red berries. Now that I own the land I want it to yield more berries and actually be able to get to all of them. Can you give me any advice on how to tackle this? Thanks in advance 😁
Did you dub over this? It doesn't sound right lol...

how are you doing this without gloves? Doesn't your raspberry bush have thistles?
They do but I’m just very careful, also work in construction as an electrician so my hands are tough 💪 haha

Do you use the same methods for pruning and maintaining blackberries? I appreciate your very direct and informative videos!
Can we do this late on fall?

I just bought raspberry bushes from Aldi only one cane. 🌱
Planting this weekend do this think I’ll see anything this year or is it to late
It’s not that’s it’s “too late” but since it’s just a starter root stock it wont produce fruit until next year
How about fertilizers for raspberries?
Can I still prune them in June or July?
