- Hey guys!
Welcome back to Jeff's Aussie 'Pro- Street' inspired VH SL/E project build.
Time to give you all a rundown on the bullet which will eventually sending this big girl to what we hope will be a solid 9-second 1/4mile pass...with NO POWER ADDERS!
In the spirit of doing things the hardest way possible, naturally the choice was to use the Holden 304 as a base. But with a bit of know how, and some top dollar Aussie made parts, you can get these things to FLY!

Good to see a proper engine build on CZcams not a budget barra. Keep up the good work
We strive to offer a bit of variety 😉👌🏻
Thanks for watching Daniel, glad you enjoyed it mate.
LS motors are definitely the talk of the town but it's amazing the engineering that is happening for these Aussie donks keep up the good work and keeping things all Aussie
Hard to argue with the return on investment with the LS platform... But its definitely a good time to be alive as a Holden V8 fan 💪🏻
I own a L98( 6 liter with LS3 top end and absolutely love it but I have fond memories of the old EFI Holden V8 and personaly i think they sound better than an LS, the aftermarket for the Holden V8s have really come on board with Torque Power, COME, Yella Terra, Edelbrock and Higgins coming to the party, V8s til 98! , I think not!
@@TorqHub Long live the GM holdens !
LS is shamed by Ford's new Godzilla, it is the way of the future !
Absolutely tip top. Now throw a turbo on it ahahahaha
Nice to see you Yong one's learning about displacement.back when people worked out compression meet hp .it goes way back .186 253 265 302 460 even the old flat head.i miss them day's the LS is based off a 350small block . good job my son . good to hear people know what de barring a engine block means 👍
There's nothing that spikes the senses quite like a nice high compression naturally aspirated v8 engine!
Nice one my friend , and thanks for taking my advice onboard with the n/a 383 combo, you won’t regret it 👌🏼looking forward to your next build update video.Doogey
Look, I cant truthfully say it was your suggestion which lead to this... but at least its good to see someone was kinda on the same wave length 😉
This puts a new meaning to the phrase "all motor" that's one he'll of a set up!!
Engine looks MENTAL, can't wait to see how this build progresses! Awesome video, keep it up.
Great to see a tough NA Iron Lion build in the works.
Awesome man. Looks like a very strong build mate. Low 9's here they come. Aussie v8 and Aussie bits. 🇦🇺💪
You'll probably notice we use a bunch of Australian made performance parts around here 🇦🇺
💪🏻😁👍🏻
Keep up the good work guys! Your vids inspire me to get off my date and wrench on my ride
And that's what its all about. The viewers motivate us to stay accountable towards moving forward. If that gets you guys ghee'd up to swing a spanner too then that puts a big smile on our dial aswell 😁👌🏻
Great video Jeff! Great to see someone doing a 383 Holden stroker. I'm the proud owner of a VB SLE called TOBAD it's only got a hot 308 and hasn't been on the road for 6yrs. Keep up the awesome work and videos 👍
Thanks mate! Can't wait to drop the hammer on this bad boy in anger... has been a long time coming!
6 years off the road? Let me guess, went in for a cheeky weekend spruce up and snowballed? Haha! Your name suggests you have a sweet Capri aswell?
Lol. Yeah something like that and I'm not lucky enough to have a shed like yours, I bought the Capri and now I'm getting the bigger shed so I can fit both cars in and have room to work. I'll watching your videos.👍
I’m excited for this build!
You are my new idol, so wanting a set up like this. Please keep us updated with complete build !!! Including trans diff car mods EVERYTHING WOULD BE AWESOME !!!!
Absolutely mate, the entire build will be documented on here from start to finish. Just got a couple other cheeky jobs to tick off before we get stuck in ;)
Job well done, in both the project and the presentation here.
You certainly know how to set yourself a challenge.
Good luck with it.
Thankyou Mac Cat. Glad you enjoyed it mate.
Nothing worth having was ever easy 💪🏻😉
Jeff: “this engine is a pretty big stroker”
Me: “so is the owner”
Abso-freakin-lutely 😂
Hahahhahaa
When’s part 3 mate? I’m keen to see this thing fired up!
You and us both Daniel! Got to get the Procharged XY done first, and the VH and VR BT1 will be the next cars to get attended to 👌🏻
Work of art
Nice to see a young gun working with an old Holden in this world of LS's, Barra's & 2J's! Injector hole plugs & hold down bars might be a better idea in the manifold so you can roll right into EFI when you're done fucking with that big fuel spitter.
Thats not a bad idea actually! Mightn't be as aesthetically pleasing as welding up and machining down, but it is simpler!
Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
@@TorqHub It's funny how your channel popped up when I'm in Idaho. You might want to look into the flow effect of the injector slot in the intake port since you're going N/A with a carb. With an injector it's a mixing chamber but with a carb it might puddle fuel out of the air flow & you could be chasing your arse trying to tune something like that.
Now that stroker kits are readily available for these , hopefully more people consider them over chevs going into holden projects. Not only that, but putting a chev into something like a Torana involves engineering as the oil pump hits the crossmember (and I believe on commodore the starter motor needs to be rear mount) But now there are options to stay with the local product.
Great vid mate! Look forward to seeing run.
You're not alone there mate, thanks for watching!
We're fans of your work also 👌🏻 That Big Block 'Naro will be heaps of fun!
Sweet timing cover man.
Wow, a real engine build! Nice! Although after owning it a while I think it might highlight just how nice modern engines with power adders are as an all round solution. Hats off to you for going 10/10ths on a Holden V8.
Believe me I'm under no false pretences on how much better off I would have been with a turbo combination 😂
But, this was a childhood bucket list build, and it seems my stubbornness and stupidity knows little bounds. Come too far to turn back now 😉 and I cant wait!
Just got yourself a new subscriber! Looks awesome man! Great to see something a little different!
Thanks Liddz! Welcome aboard 👌🏻
That's tuff, love a nicely built Holden motor 👌
Definitely the silly way to get the job done, but... the heart wants what the heart wants 😂
Wicked build mate!!
New subscriber and keen AF for the new vids 💪😎👌
Thanks for watching mate, and welcome aboard 👌🏻
Bob 7500 I had one and a handful with trimatic man shift and down the track you on the money savage on a alteration hangon
More than 600 out of a Holden is pretty bloody good. And revving a stroker very very hard to do . I look forward to this
You and I both mate 😁
Nice bunch of bits.
That's what she said 😂
Im a ford man and even im excited to se it up and running. Love ya work mate keep it up 👍
You're in for a treat in the coming months mate, we've got some killer ford stuff planned as well!! Thanks for the support and thanks for watching Mick!
@@TorqHub Bloody awsome news 👌👌👌
Im very keen to hear this thing its going to sound mean
Aussie Aussie Aussie... OI OI OI. Reaping the Big Australian made Gems. Great work fella. Wouldn’t or couldn’t use a dry sump.?
Thankyou mate! Yeah I'm not sure a dry sump is necessary on this combo honestly. Wet sump with external pump will be more than enough me thinks
@@TorqHub she’s certainly going to be a bloody weapon that’s for sure. I. An almost hear that crackly violent idle now. Looking forward to following this build n
Cool to watch in bed when ive chucked a sickie 🤣🤣. Awsome guys! 108 lsa 😯, i hope youre gonna pair it with a 5000rpm convertor or so. I love this shit! Na motor, big convertor, high rpms 💦💦
~6k stall speed 😉
@@TorqHub yes want to hear that sing boy 💪👌
Killer engine! I'm getting one built at the moment. That makes mine look like a kids toy haha
Cheers my man. I'm sure yours will still be a banger combo that doesn't need even half the work this one does haha. Good to see there's still a few of us playing with the old plastic 💪🏻
@@TorqHub never owned one until now. Always had ls stuff. Mine is just a 355 streeter for me. Your build looks amazing mate, can't wait to hear it running!
That makes two of us 😉👌🏻
Very interesting video
Thanks for watching Jim 👍🏻
N/A, 10 out of 10 and full respect for the aussie engine choice. If you think you'll part with the borg warner diff, hit me up.
Thankyou mate 👍🏻
Love this build mate I’ve heard that the yella terra Dave Bennett dash 9 heads are the go 🤷♂️anyways keep up the great work 👍
-9s, Higgins, and Torque Power all seem to have a great casting. Will have to get together with an induction specialist and seek some counsel.
Anymore updates ??!!! Love it and wana do the same. N/a all the way !!
Got our hands a little full with the XY build right at the moment goatsie101, but once thats out of the shed the VH will be getting ready for mock up as it has a date with the panel beater in 2021 and we need to make sure we drill every hole and fill every hole before the fresh paint is laid down. So more VH content will be coming in the not too distant future!
@@TorqHub awesome! I was looking for this comment! Can’t wait 💪
Great informative vid mate. Gotta put some practice into that magic finger click though 😄
Tried a fresh batteries, a software update, and a hard reset. Buggered if I know how he got it to work 🤷♂️
Looks a lot like my come 383 stroker. Fuckin love it. Lol wrote that before the break down and saw the heads
Thanks mate. Can't wait to knock out this next project and shift focus on my own ride so we can hear this thing come to life
Interesting but how many dollarydoos did you spend? Cheers Graham
What was spent way back when wouldn't be much of a reflection on today's pricing. But it was around 28k at time of build.
700 lift thats deadly
And next comes "THE SUPERCHARGER" lol.....
Already one supercharged Holden V8 in the shed mate, and this donk would blow the doors off it! 🤣
...300hp shot of nitrous though? 🤔😍👌🏻
Hey, all I can say, is, what a beast! I'm building my own 383 stroker (304 block) but am going to cheat and throw a blower on it. I've looked everywhere for some info on that valley oiling system. Would you share where you bought it from, else, I'm gonna have to make my own. Thank you.
There was a wealth of oiling mods knowledge on the AussieV8 forums which is now no longer. But I did see WES engines did a billet machined priority mains piece a few years back.
Also check the Come racing CZcams channel, aswell as Griff's Rear Miunt turbo for some detailed oiling mod videos 🤙🏻
Hey mate love the build I’m currently building a 308 for my VH and just wondering roughly what something like this would cost cheers mate
I built a come 383 . Less power than this. Looking at 15 k and over unless you can build it yourself.
I thought AussieV8 was down and out mate. Good to see this though. Got a mild 355 stroker out 30 thou
Now has never been a better time to be a Holden V8 fan! There's some WILD engines in the build across the country at the moment 💪🏻
Ur engine is a fully sick and fully aussie choice ...well done mate :) Love ur choice .... :) Can't wait to see the car running :) What power ur expecting from this combination ?
Thankyou sir, should be a good thing once we can eventually get it happening.
As I said in the video, looking for 700hp minimum 👍🏻
@@TorqHub Awesome :)
Nice engine in the making mate. You must have deep pockets.
Only shallow pockets unfortunately mate, but a high pain threshold.
I've learned to love cheap beer, leftovers for lunch, and how to eat 2 minute noodles 100 ways 😂
Hey mate, love the vids (like all of them!) What's the damage on an engine build like this?
Well we love that you've watched them all Hamish! 🤣 thanks for your support mate 👌🏻
For a 700hp Holden V8 engine you'd likely need to budget ~$30k. Every engine builder/machinist is a bit different, and will depend on how much the components cost
Good to see the Plastic getting a shot in a project car.
Its a tough sell to people these days it seems 😬
@@TorqHub I agree, especially when boosted LS' with China Turbo's can make a reliable 750hp all day but nothing looks better than a single plane equipped 355/383
@@MrPig208 looks neat, sounds tough... and it'll go alright I guess haha.
Them Holden efi heads from Higgins heads are a nice piece of gear
The rocker ratio standard is 1.6 standard not 1.5
It's really 1.65. To 1 same as Oldsmobile V8S that share many things with this motor !
At first I saw the carb and was like "wow someone spent forever polishing a Holley 900, then I remembered they still make carbies not just efi that looks like a carb. Awesome video bro.
The engine will be sick, but with a 700 thou lift cam and 13.2 comp those heads are gonna need some major porting or your cylinder pressures will be too high and she'll choke out around 5 - 6 grand which nullifies your cam essentially so I'd just change them...but that's just my thoughts, will sound good either way.
Peak power is already at 7400 so far... that number will likely go up in due course haha
@@TorqHub thats lightly terrifying, being a stroker motor id have thought you'd pull her up around the 7 mark for redline.
what sort of piston speeds are you planning to have? Just out of curiosity (spent the last few hours staring at an old 308, wondering if I should or shouldn't take inspiration from you boys)
Probably ~5000fpm piston speed/~8000rpm... or there abouts.
Higgins heads , only way to go 👌👌
They do look nice, and power/flow numbers so far have been impressive! Just need to find out how they accelerate at the track 😉
Air speed, Air speed, Air speed.
Plenty of wicked fast Aspo Plastics without Higgins heads, research research research.... Todd's WPN•383 VH was an insane plastic powered streeter that ran great numbers and did plenty of street miles
I do like NA's but to be a 6 Barra 6T killer you need to be doing better than high 7's. That said I'm not into vacuum cleaners either and while I'm a Ford fan the 308's a great engine.
Iron lion has been claimed.
NA! Yes 👍
Something different among the sea of turbo builds lol
@@TorqHub agreed 👍 looking forward to watching the progress
I'd seen a lot of oiling mods on the 304/308 but hadn't seen the mod with the oil line added under the valley cover so I've learnt something new (to me) already
Do the vn group a blocks have extra webbing for block strength? I know the 4 bolt helps, but that’s a lot of power for a standard block, any progress on the engine?
I believe there was some extra webbing yeah, they were also a high nickel casting for some extra strength. This one is also half grout filled for some added rigidity. Others have made more steam than I with a standard block so I think she'll be alright 👌🏻
No progress on the engine itself right now, but there will be an update on the VH build coming to the channel soon!
@@TorqHub that’s good then mate, wouldn’t want to see that block split with all that time money and research put into it, the custom block like come and torque power are so expensive
Watch Larry perkins channel he tells ya when he helped cast blocks at Holden factory
It makes common sense to incorporate an oil accumulator into the setup. Never, never rely on the belt driving that external oil pump. If a $30 belt breaks or comes off at 8500rpm that's a premature finish line. 🏁
Especially on drag/track cars.
I dont think an accumulator is going to save it if the belt let's go at 1000ft regardless mate. That's not what they're designed for.
Blokes use this setup with dry sump engines all the time. Use a quality gear drive belt and maintain the system regularly... she'll be right 👌🏻
Nar, the bearings go without oil. That's crazy. Ha, good luck with it.🏁🏁
so you oil suction is at front of sump.? You drag race right?
Oil pick up is a moroso -20AN at the back of the well of the sump which feeds to the belt driven oil pump 👍🏻
Hey man probably won’t see this but I got a 355 stroker that I’m building to handle a supercharger how much hp do you reckon I will get hoping for about 500 wheel
Mate the sky's the limit, so long as your wallet can carry you there. A come racing 4340 crank with good rods and pistons, ~9.5:1 compression, and a Harrop 2650 blower will get you there with very little headaches.
Keep an eye on the channel... we have something coming that might be of great interest to you 😉👌
Didn't you end up giving away most of the cam specs
Kinda gets you in the ballpark I suppose, but felt it best not to be too specific out of respect to the cam grinder, being a custom grind and what not.
Could possibly be changed at this stage... to be confirmed at a later date.
Sure ls makes power for cheap but you will NEVER beat the sound of a aussie v8
Once you start getting up around this power level I dont think one would be really 'that much' cheaper than the other... And you're right. This will sound phenomenal! 😁
Thanks for watching Supermoist_grandma ❤
Scat make a forged crank now 355 and 383 with a little paw block I recon you'll get a couple of them ls boys a scare I love what yas doing Holden engine the best sound ,,,,bloody LS I'm sick of hearinhg about LS torque power manifolds the best on the market.good luck oh forgot that 383 is going to sound verry angry
@stardroppercj yes i know big dollars but would be good to do ive got a headache from my mates telling me to go LS ill stick with the plastic 304 as they say.
At what stage did you realise the purlins on your shed were upside down? Or did you buy it like that!
Are you of the assumption that the purlins are C-channel?
@@TorqHub No i can see they are Z's. Usually the lip is up! One side of mine is like that before we realised we did it wrong, so we did the other 3 walls ( the right way) with the lips up! It's easier to use them as small shelves!! By the way i'd love to shove that engine in my VN calais!!!
Its all constructed with galv RHS my dude, can't put that upside down haha.
Funny you should say that, a mate of mine often eyes it off for his VN calais too! You'd be two peas in a pod 😅 Thanks for watching Jarno 👌🏻
Hi mate what roller lifters are you using due to it being a VL Group A block. Did you bronze bush the lifter bores
I’m trying to track down roller lifters for the group A .904 lifter size
@@dylanbritton8165 They are a Crane Ultra-Pro .904" lifter mate.
Crane have told me that they don’t make a lifter to suit Group A block why would they say this. Is it because you are running solid roller lifters so there is no oiling issues
@@dylanbritton8165 No idea why they would say that to you mate, im just telling you what I've got. Are you looking for Solid or Hydraulic lifters? Regardless, if I remember I'll try and dig out the part number for you.
Hydraulic if possible how would I contact you to talk
35k might get 9s
Unfortunately quality parts cost hey.
On the sump... I see the timing case has the rope seal eliminated.... what exactly is at the rear main seal? I couldn't quite see... Keen to know what's available to eliminate rope seals on standard 5ltr set ups. just for reliability sake. Cheers.
Sorry mate, you have me a little bit confused. Are you talking about the rope rear main seal? Or the sump gasket?
For the sump i'll be using a 1 piece rubber gasket. But as for the rear main seal, if you want an alternative to the factory rope seal, you can have the block machined to suit a neoprene rear main seal.
Hope that helps.
@@TorqHub Yeh that's what I meant. Surely there's something available to make a one piece seal up the back. If my engine needs a fix-up, then may as well machine it to accept a one piece seal (rear) while we're in there. be silly not to, right?
@@Mudgrove Yeah, if the block is torn down for a bore or hone, then they may aswell while they are there 👌🏻
@@TorqHub yep, makes perfect sense to address a known issue. As for oiling, have you seen a Tassie dude Griff with a turbo'd HQ/X/Z? I've read these engines throw a lot of oil up top, but it can't drain back as fast as it gets thrown up there. I'm using a VN Calais engine in a '37 hot rod, along with '83 Jag stuff. A mish-mash.
@@Mudgrove Yeah, have followed Griff for a long while now, interestingly he has recently begun following us!
I'm surprised to only see 4 studs/cylinder.
It's a stock block of essentially a 60's design. There is one aftermarket block available from Torque Power with 6-bolt capabilities and a raised cam tunnel, but it certainly is an expensive little number.
That's how they came !
Mate go efi setup its way better than caby everywhere but wide open throttle they would both be the same . Put a stud girdle into it aswel to tie all the caps together you just need chevy studs to get the extra length to fit . You can never have to much strength in the bottom end . I used milodon splayed billet caps and pavtek stud girdle . 9000 rpm sounds killer out of a holden . Mines a 355 billet crank eagle 6inch rods with l19 rod bolts and je extream duty pistons for turbo and nos to get it going with 2 gt3582r garrett turbos .
A high comp 383 with a ~6k stall and a braked 3 speed isn't really a build looking for efficiencies at part throttle cruising though in all reality.
It may get a modern EFI setup later down the track, but the expense means it will stay with the carb initially.
@@TorqHub you can have the best of both worlds going efi . Im using a delco vt sequentual computer using kalmaker software . My mate leon vincenci from awesome automotive in Adelaide is going to tune it for me when im done . I also have a 5 stage dry sump pump for it . The old 5.0 goes hard when you dump a few buckets of cash into them . I dont like shitty ls motors because they sound shit . Nothing like a 5.0 at 9000rpm . Mondo baker had his singing pretty good at burnout comps when he got it sorted . Half grout filled block helps too . I could have gone a torque power little paw block but i still like to call it a holden engine . Keep up the good work . It should be killer when you finish it . I used to do easternats and summernats with my friends ek panel van i built with him with a supercarged 202 efi on methanol with 400hp at the wheels . I miss running a muck so im building my 355 up soon .
@@ytthecommunistplatform.2675 You're preaching to the choir, really... My blown 5.0L VS ute uses a factory EFI setup aswell, but the reality is if this goes EFI, it will probably be for dry nitrous and datalogging purposes... which is $10k+ which can be spent far far later and can be enjoying the car in the meantime trying to pay for it. There is a grand plan for the build, but I'll be waiting a while for my wallet to be grand enough to fund it haha
@@TorqHub yes mines taken me about 10 years to collect all my things to put it all together . I got most of my things before the manufactors went to china . Mines a going into my hq sedan . Im a builder myself and build and fabricate everything myself . Mines been reasonably cheap but it still costs a shitload to do . The cost of everything has gone through the roof . I got my je extream duty pistons and rods for $1,200 and the crank for $2,500 . Ah it was all cheap back in the day . I used to do burnout comps all the time and worked out what they need to keep alive . No use half arsing it and killing an engine from skimping out . Hopfully it will all be going in 3 years time . Im saving up for the block machining and the parts for the hq . Its a hard slog when your not a drug dealer and have to work for it all and do it all myself . I helped build my friends hg 800hp 540 big block thats still getting built aswel . Ah atleast we can see where the cash goes unlike most people you just buy drugs or piss their money down the drain .
@@ytthecommunistplatform.2675 Yeah certainly can be difficult when you're just a middle class working family man. But a modest budget doesn't stop us from doing the elite... just takes a little while longer.
is the 383 just a larger stroker kit similar as a 355? i havnt heard of them before
Correct mate.
A 355ci Holden stroker is usually seen as a 3.480" stroke on a 4.030" bore. A 383ci is usually a 3.750" stroke on a 4.030" bore. Come racing also have a 3.875" stroke crank which can take these engines out to a whopping 396ci.
@@TorqHub Wow thats alot of extra displacement!! and no need to bore the block either so 'less' work too.
Yes and no... at 383 and 396 there is some crank tunnel clearancing to be undertaken, sometimes results in hitting water jackets and therefore some grout filling...
@@TorqHub ahh okay! Thanks for the info mate. Cool to know the holy 5liter block can support that type of displacement and power
Your kidding never what planet you being on they have veing around for 10 years more
Only just come across this vid, just wondering if you are worried if you bust a belt that you lose oil pressure?
That's a definite risk, but it's not like I'm pioneering anything new here. People have been running these external oil pumps aswell as multi stage dry sump systems for a long time. There will be dyno testing to make sure it's right, and likely as a low oil pressure ignition cut as a safety 👌🏻
@@TorqHub oh yeah I totally get that just was like oh fuck wonder what the contingency was. Only thought it as I thought it was bad enough having a gear driven one die on me just yesterday so going to take her to 355 now 🤪🤪. Thanku finally someone went NA AUSSIE RAW POWER. finally shut up the American ls1 turbo loving fairy’s. Nothing comes close to a 5l note. 👌. Subscribed & liked.
There's no question that the Turbo LS route is close to unbeatable in the 'bang for buck' discussion. But sometimes the cool factor is worth paying a little more for 😉
You've probably noticed we're pretty fond of the humble Holden V8 by the couple others we've featured on the channel haha!
Torq Hub Media Sorry mate new to channel, no disrespect to your other featured uploads. I do love the power a turbo Ls can make. I know Ls turbo fairy’s I am one. Lol. But all bullshit aside you won’t get that sound from the ozzy lion in any LS combo. I hate to admit it but bang for buck your better off buying a Barra for power. They making same power I am for 1/5 of the price. Really impressed with your 383 build hopefully it’s contagious & more people start realising to stick to Aussie v8s. Keep the videos coming, can’t wait to see the Dyno video (mainly for the noise) Along with 1/4 mile vid. 👍👍👍
No disrespect was felt mate. The Turbo Tonner is perfect for what it is intended, and Rob won't take offence 😂 The Barra is A-OK by us too. Home grown Aussie power is hard not to get behind.
But whether it be driving my blown VS ute, working on Kurt's turbo VR BT1, or organising this VH... its pretty clear the iron lion is where we feel at home 😁

Still with the manufacturer at this stage. They are a definite consideration though.
Holden V8's have 1.6 ratio rockers std , SBC's have 1.5. dunno why holden v8 Rollers end up 1.65
Holden is 1.65 always has been , 1.6 is Ford Windsor
@JosephCowen-ru7up no. Holdens are 1.6 aftermarket rockers are mostly 1.65 for holden v8

Come racing. I've been told in the past procomp ones make a great door stop though 🤷♂️
@@TorqHub they look a bit rough for come
But why choose come over torque power 220 etc
That was the engine builder's choice at the time. And they served their purpose very well.
But the goal has changed, and technology aswell as R&D has moved a long way in a short space of time. A head/cam change could be on the cards.
@@TorqHub yer I am possibly doin a 383 for a group a mock up. Including the group a intake
I'm undecided between come or torque power. But not solid roller. No need for that, hydraulic roller is a fantastic compramise
Currently a carbd 308 with vn heads hitting 400 at the wheels. It's not bad. But not amazing down low, hence more cubes
Fuck bro mean, those heads clear the booster alright? Ta
The rocker covers? Not sure yet haha. Will find out in due course, but I might just go boosterless.
@@TorqHub I'd say that would be the go
nek minnit you all come to your senses and realize that nothing sounds as good as a clevo without a im to scared limiter .
😂
Those rocker don’t look like their correct. The roller isn’t sitting on top of the valve tip
That's because there are no valves Mike, Haha! I did mention that in the video 😁
Torq Hub Media
Oh shit I see now you just have the springs sitting in there. Lmao 😂 that a lot of work just for the video.
Rocker tip should start on outer side and as it progresses be in the middle at full lift , if it started in the middle when it got to full lift the side loading would try and bend the valve ,
Nothing wrong with the Holden V8 it just costs more then other engines to modify for more Hp.
Yep, gotta pay Australian workers Australian dollars to produce the good gear that's in these things. And that's worth spending the extra 😉👌🏻
Our thoughts exactly. We love the mighty plastic around here! Thanks for watching mate!
It's expensive cause they so shit to start with and u gotta spend heaps to correct the factory fuck ups ma8😂😂😂
What other engines are you referring to because I built a 462 Ford MEL big block and it cost heaps !
Who is Holden?
R.I.P Holden.
General Motors Holden GMH
stock rocker ratio is not 1.5 it is 1.6
You are quite correct Turbo Torana. Thanks for that, my poor memory didn't serve me well on this day 😂
It's 1.65 on all Holden motors
@@JosephCowen-ru7upwell no, only on holden v8's
Gunna be a pig on the street lumpy fuel sucking loud cop magnet n very high maintenance but still very cool
I love it when you talk dirty to me 😍
Your either a Ls or Barra fairy? Coz talking like that gives real men stiffies!
This is what happens when a guy steals a Bathurst 1000 race engine and decides to stuff it in a hooptie
Geez I'd love to see this engine last the Bathurst 1000! Haha.
how much
Why do people say I won't give away spec what u scared off
Generally, I have no qualms with sharing anything. But out of respect to the people who put in the time and spent the money to figure out what works, I won't give away for free the information/intellectual property which puts food on their table.
Only seems fair, right?
And after all that it's probably still guna have shitty oil problems, and the car the engine is going into is just sad..... Wat a waste of money there's way better cars to spend that on
...well, fuck. Why did nobody warn me?
I feel so cheated. 🤦♂️
It's ok, you'll come right ma8😂
