A black and chrome J4500. Just when I thought these couldn't look any better... Long, lean, large and in charge.

Calvin crews.......The J4500 and the 102EL are 2 totally different coaches. The styling of the are similar but after that the difference is night and day. The 102 EL was a highend coach with alot of expensive elecetronics in the A/C system suspenion and many other areas. It rides like a dream. I drove one for 5 years and it was the best North American coach I have ever driven.
The J4500 was cheaper coach to buy and maintain as it was built to replace the DL4500 coaches. The J4500is a great coach and looks good driving down the highway.

I like it when they keep a design for a few years like the 102DL3 and this one the J4500

Before it was named the J4500 it was originally name the 102 EL3 then E4500 and now the J4500 the first engine is the Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines with the B500 now it's a Cummins ISL9 or ISX 12 engine with the WB 500 R Gen V Allison Transmission lots of bus companies had those buses even academy bus tours

Actually, the 102-EL3 ("Renaissance") was manufatured from 1997-2001. The E series was then manufactured as the E4500 from 2001-2012. The J series (J4500 (introduced in 2001)) gained popularity, eventually surpassing the E4500. As a result, MCI discontinued the E series coach.

Question: Are there any problems with derated engines on Cummins ISX versus the ISC's??

Cummins has been an option for MCI for years. The ISM was originally the option till 2010 when the ISX12 replace it

I disagree with that. I have ridden on these newer buses. Seats are thin and very uncomfortable. Maybe 4" thick. The bus rides like a lumber wagon. It rattles, bangs, clatters and clangs. These newer buses are anything but a comfortable ride
