    • @TheLivingWatersFarm
      @TheLivingWatersFarm  Před 2 lety

      tilapia need 3 gallons of water per full grown fish so 185 gallons divided by 3. Up to 60 full grown tilapia.

    How many tilapia will it occupy from fingering to table size

    • @TheLivingWatersFarm
      @TheLivingWatersFarm  Před 2 lety

      The rule of thumb is that one pound of tilapia will need 3 gallons of water.
      There's 220 gallons of usable space after cutting the top and some of the sides off, so roughly 70 tilapia. Personally, I wouldn't put more than 50-60 tilapia in this one.

      I heard that stocking tilapia is unlike catfish

    • @TheLivingWatersFarm
      @TheLivingWatersFarm  Před 2 lety

      That's true. Catfish need 8 gallons of stocking space, each.

    Don’t do what I did an think all you need is just water to clean the totes..makes sure you clean the tote efficiently before using that means use a detergent of some sort , rinse well, an then put RO water in the tank an measure the PPM of water.. if PPM shows above zero then you know you have more work to do.

    • @TheLivingWatersFarm
      @TheLivingWatersFarm  Před 2 lety +1

      Or get a food grade tote like I did and didn’t have a single issue…
