K1 media is a biological filtration media used in water treatment and aquatic ecosystems. By “this thing”, I assume you mean the filter. No I don’t think I did. It wasn’t difficult to clean using it inside on this pool set up, but once I took it outside to use on the outside koi pond, it was more challenging… it had to be cleaned regularly (a week or two) or it becomes really gross. The biggest issue with this filter is finding the replacement sponges.

@TheLivingWatersFarm yeah sorry the filter. Does it have a lever to squeeze out the sponges in the filter.

@@hazzardoutdoorsno, there’s nothing to help clean it except to pull the sponges out and spray with a hose. While the filter works great, cleaning it is not so great, lol, if I’m going to be honest about it.

@@hazzardoutdoorsno, I haven’t found any replacement sponges. I’ve even tried using poly-fil and that ended up being a nightmare to clean out.

Off leash fun is always a good time for the pups! We go to areas where we don’t encounter uptight people who get upset by it.

I don’t know how young they will start. I just know that mine within the first year of having them as soon as that water temperature got up to 80-85° they started breeding and having babies all over the place (100’s and 100’s) and they’ve done that for me for two years now Every summer in the heat of the summer but I live in Pennsylvania.

And them breeding once a year for me is way more than than I’ll ever need in a year.

Yes, i let people adopt my bunnies, if im convinced they’ll take good care of them. I do not spay or neuter any, though.

I have three and they’re all good kitties!

Haha yeah my kitties and my Pitbulls love the rabbits. They all play together and they’re gentle with the rabbits.

No snake issues here. I do have a raccoon that has come in and attacked a few rabbits, so yes I worry about that. I do have 3 cats and 2 Pitbulls that roam the rabbitry on guard duty, so that helps a little.

It’s a lot of work but enjoyable

The filter works great and yes the UV light was helpful in keeping the algae down. It does not solve the algae problem , in the long run, but it helps.

I use it as a shelf, added stability. It’s just a personal preference. I like the way it looks better.

@@TheLivingWatersFarm It does look cool. I suppose if you're not using the cut off top section as a grow bed for plants, you don't need to save it, and can do the shelf like yours.

i think it was the 12 foot model. its been a couple years... itt was about 2 and half foot deep. it was a lot of work but it was fun. was difficult keeping it nice. if i could go back, id cut down on the amount of bubbles being created by the falling water. it caused lots of algea bloom. thanks for the comment!

@timmyhupp I do have it on a timer (however I could change how many hours it’s on though) and I’ve turned the LED down to the lowest dimness setting. It’s not string algae, thankfully. It’s a thin growth and I like it for supplementing the Pleco’s diet. The blue tilapia like to pick at it, too. It’s just ugly lol
