@RadioActiveGoomba Albert Hammond wrote it. He was required to record a song for his Sound 101 class during his freshman year. Later re-recorded it with the band as a fan club giveaway bonus or some shit.

For everybody saying phrazes was NOT a sellout album is wrong. Julian said it himself, he regrets making the album because he was, at the time, more worried about popularity than with what he really "wanted" to make. Why do you think it's his most pop-sounding album, by far?

I guess you're right. It was not on Albert's Album. Don't know then. Maybe a Strokes B-Side, that I don't know. And if it is Jules, his singing style is very different to the other records.
