    5-day power reserve is superb! Most people only see the benefit of long power reserve but fail to realise the benefit of accuracy over a longer period of time.
    It's simply because while the movement retains power, accuracy is maintained and does not slow down early due to lack of spring tension. Unlike those with power reserve of 38 or 42 hours, they tend to slow down when they run out of juice after 30 hours.
    The secret to accuracy is spring tension.

      Excellent point. Very accurate watch. Couple times I checked it has been spot on.

    Nice one. I have the 39.5mm Aquis with the tungsten bezel, blue dial. It's great!

    That’s a great looking watch. I almost purchased the Oris but bought a Longines instead. The Oris may be a future purchase.

      I eventually want to add a Longines. Deciding which one is tough.

      The Aquis and Hydroconquest are very comparable. Both are well made and both look good. I think the HQ has the edge on looks because it's more versatile and can double as a dressy diver better than the Aquis.

    The new movement is the 475, just keep your Oris, it's perfect.

    I have the Aquis Oceanic Blue 39.5
    Looks similar to yours, but more silvery & has a lighter dial.

      Aquis such a great piece no matter the variant.

      @@TennesseeMike I don't wear it super often (I'm paranoid that I might slip & crack the dial), but when I do... it's funny when people notice the "laser pointers" 😂

    Your Aquis is spectacular, but I am biased. It’s my favorite diver period.
    I have the dark blue and the green both in 43.5.
    About your upmarket thoughts … Makes sense to me.
    The more watches I own the less I see the need to go further upmarket. (Only done it once - my Zenith).
    Guess my Minase’ limited edition cost a bit more than my Aquis, but similar price point.
    If I only had two or three watches spending more would make more sense to me, but why spend 5-10k on a watch I will wear once a week?

    • @TennesseeMike
      @TennesseeMike  Před rokem

      Good perspective. It's hard to justify alot tied up in one watch. I enjoy rotating thru my collection so variety a must for me.

    Thanks for coming back around with this update, 👍🏽given! I have the same watch for about 6 months now and I was curious how you feel about the rubber straps fitment/cost/ease of swapping?

    • @TennesseeMike
      @TennesseeMike  Před rokem +1

      Super easy to swap. Very comfortable and easy to swap. Great clasp. I’m glad I have it and wish price was better. I think it was $350 from AD.

      @@TennesseeMike Yeah, I agree and gave the gas face about the price, but as an alternative to wearing it on the smudge/scratch magnet bracelet all the time, I figure I can keep the bracelet looking good longer!

    Can you tell us if it says CAL 400-2 on the back of the mechanism on yours? Have you faced the "jumping hands" issue on yours? Im about to buy one.

    • @TennesseeMike
      @TennesseeMike  Před 2 měsíci

      @@gknikolov just 400. I bought shortly after it came out. It does have an issue with the “jumping hands”. Doesn’t bother me. I just go 10 minutes past time and then go back to set time.
