Thank you so much, i can't wait to see all those vegetables in your garden ! Waiting for the video tour ! Take care !
Ooo! Might look for that yellow cucumber!
Thanks for the brill video. My fave kind of video although they always make me buy lots of seeds and I definitely don’t need any more!
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I'm so bad for buying more! 😂😂😂
I love these videos. Thanks for the tips! Watching in Sweden so we have a much shorter season but still have to sow a lot of the early summer crops at the same time in order to get the harvest to beat the first frost.
Wow Sweden, how cool! Glad you like them! I can imagine you have an even more limited window that we do here in Ireland. But a rewarding challenge I'm sure when you succeed!
Hi Niall, glad to see you're brave and shiny, it means your tireness are gone))) You inspire me go out and seed it (again))) thank you and good luck to your gardening!!!
So nice of you, thanks! Definitely get out and sow some seeds! 😃
with all these seeds, you are going to make many friends, family or neighbours happy if they all grow well and give you the veg :-))
Yeah! I'm already giving away some of the baby plants to friends!
Thank you Niall
You're welcome!
I feel like all my sowing is late this year due to work commitments offshore but will crack on it with it after your video!
You can do it! Definitely not too late!
I'm growing kohlrabi for the first time too. Never tasted it either. HahHa
Your garden is going to be amazing this year. Lots of healthy food.
Oh cool - you and I can compare notes then on how the Kohl Rabi turns out!
Great video Niall, so many seeds, well done getting them all in. Will be looking through again to pick something i havent done, felt like a child in a sweetshop. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Lorraine! Glad you liked the video - as each month goes by, the list gets longer and longer! lol
@@niallgardens i wont even divulge what i bought, bar courgette seeds. Saw a picture, not homeless, just my wife won't stop buying plants/seeds, my poor hubby 😅😅😅
Wonderful video! I love the information. Will you be doing some cooking videos on how you cook the vegetables you grow? Thank you for your time and knowledge.
Thanks Carole! I probably won't at this stage - more because our house in need of renovation so I don't want to have to show everyone my kitchen!! lol 😂😂😂
Don’t forget to sow foxgloves too! They’re so important in my garden because the pests don’t touch them
Absolutely, you can sow them now! Actually I tend to sow mine in the Autumn instead, overwinter them in the conservatory, and plant them out in spring 😃
I planted fox gloves in autumn when you suggested Niall, they're huge now, love them!
Just wondering, where do you get your veg seeds from, any recommendations for places to buy in Dublin?
I tend to use Seedaholic - they're and Irish mail order seed company and I can't recommend them highly enough
Cime di rapa are amazing with pasta, typical in Italy 🤤
Oh wow! Can't wait to try them!
How are you getting on with the brocoli Raab. We really didn't get on with the flavour. 😂
Oh I love Chinese veg we do gai lan, bok Choi, Raab, brokali (cross broccoli and kale) all of it and regular kales get sautéed in olive oil and garlic mmmmmm 😂😂 most of what your growing we are too except kholrabi I sent all my free seeds to Alex at Essex Allotment. I see your taking on a new YT job I don’t know where you get all your energy but be careful don’t over do it (sorry that my mom voice ). Well as always thanks for sharing ✌️🇨🇦🐝 safe
Thanks Ali! That's cool that you have experience of the chinese veg - I'm used to eating them, but not growing them, so will be interested to try!
Hi Niall, I love your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. Would it be possible to include the names of all seeds mentioned in the description? I'm from Ireland also so I'm hoping I'll be able to grow some of the same varieties as you. Love your work and your approach.
Hi Caroline! Thanks for the lovely comment! Certainly - I can do that. Leave it with me for a few days and check back and I'll have the seed list up for ya!
I keep trying but so many of these plants get decimated by pests in my garden 😩🤷♀️
Have you tried Chijimasai greens?
No I haven't actually - would you recommend them?
Curious how the "Plug Plants" and the Hot Compost turned out.
The hot compost is doing great thanks and all the plug plants are coming along nicely so far!
Q: Charles Dowding has put up a video on the slow growth this year. Have you noticed a difference also?
Hi Doug! Yeah I've noticed a marked difference this year, from seedling growth rates to the trees and hedges in the garden. It feels like everything is just so far behind. How about you? Are you seeing a difference also? The one positive for me is that it's bought me some extra time. Because I'm having to build so much infrastructure this year, it's giving me a little bit of a free pass to be late with everything!!
@@niallgardens yea, I help out at a community garden in Dublin city, definitely much cooler generally than last year so far, urban heat island is helping a bit but there is a prevailing cool wind which isn't helping at all.
There is a meridional jet streams pattern and it appears we are all in the dip!
@@doughazel838 Isn't it extraordinary how where we're located makes us to susceptible to the jet streams and how they channel weather. It's just fascinating!
