Cody Canada and The Departed ~ On A Cloud

Cody and the Departed closed out Joe State Homecoming with On A Cloud. Josh Crutchmer took the stage to tell his story and close proximity to the events that led to Cody penning that song. In 2001 Crutchmer was the Sports Editor at the O’Colly at OSU. The evening of January 27, 2001 he was supposed to fly with the OSU Basketball team to cover the game in Colorado. Plans changed and he ended up going to see Cross Canadian Ragweed at the Wormy Dog. During the concert they learned that the plane went down killing all on board. One of the passengers was media relations coordinator, William Hancock. 20 years later Crutchmer reached out to Hancock’s daughter, Andrea (who was born a little over 2 months prior to the crash). Andrea who goes by Andie, like her father is now majoring in Journalism. Last night and every night, we honor and remember the ten.
