My love for this song will never fade. A very dear friend of mine who passed away last year charted this song out for me and it’s tattooed across my back. It’s a constant reminder of him everyday. Cody sings this at Cain’s every time he performs there and it’s always a highlight of my night.

I enjoyed the story behind the song ... glad he took the time to tell it. The only thing I would take issue with is saying their daughter, Lynn Anderson, "went on to some acclaim in country music." Kind of like saying Tammy Wynette was a somewhat famous country singer. Lynn Anderson went on to massive "acclaim" in country music. She was a huge country star and now considered an icon of the genre. I'd venture to say she went on to as much (likely more) "acclaim" as Dwight. She had more success on the Billboard singles chart than Dwight. Words matter. And, I say this as a fan of Dwight and his music.
