@@anthonysoberick5771 well I have a little car (not big on small cars) but still have 6 speed ram gasser and want to get a diesel also for the real grunt work.

Had a 99 5 speed. From front end problems to the weak vp44 to the 53 block to clear coat peeling and dash cracks. Ill never own a 2nd gen again. With that being said it was a very good driving rig and I actually had very few problems in 40k+ miles up until the end with the constant front end failures. why I ended up selling it.
Get a 94-98.5 everything in the engine bay is mechanical. And a 53 block is the bad bunch of engines (prone to cracking compared to the rest). Death wobble is easy to fix if not already also. I have. 95 2500 (Cummins/5sp) and wouldn’t change it for anything new. Yeah the body rusts and dash cracks, but the engine is what makes the truck worth it. It’ll be around long after the rest of the truck is and the new trucks.
@@matt24v56 which would you say is louder? I want the same growl as yours. Im deciding on a 2001 HO cummins 6 speed or one like yours? what do you think bruh?
Nice to see someone actually shifting good and not trying to powershift every gear.
what is power shifting?
@@grasscutter88Power Shifting is when you don’t let off the gas when you push in the clutch and shift (iirc)
I agree I love the sound of the engine starting from the low end
Man I love this truck I love how she sounds
Will Johnson thanks man!
Keep comming back just to listen to this beauty
You know you have some good shit when people watch YT videos of you just driving it
tell me you drive a dodge without telling me you drive a dodge *steering wheel to the left while going straight* gotta love it 🤣
Itd almost be wrong if it was straight position 😆😁

Smiles ear to ear, truck sounds great!
Sounds like a semi shifting
Some semis have Cummins motors in them
Yes I know

This is music 🎶 for my ears 👂 . Is anyone else agree?

Lol just bought a 1999 53 block with cracked dash paint is terrible but only has 86 thousand miles so we’ll see how it goes
@@chadgreen3688 how has your 53 been? Just picked up a 99 53 with a 5 speed and 25k miles
Hey @matt24v do you have any pictures of what the shot gun stack looks like and what part of ontario do you live in
Did you put a stack on this thing or what? Let me know. Love that sound my guy
Thats a mans truck!
Best sound in the world😍
New video coming up soon!
Great shifting buddy. Truck sounds great. Someday ill find a manual cummins dodge
Found one yet?
Second that, did you find one yet?
Third that, did you find one?
Fourth that, did you find one yet?
5th that, find one my guy?
Nothing on this earth sounds better than a manual 2nd hen Cummins
What's the size on straight pipe?
I love you
What kinda exhaust setup? Sounds like stacks
RC9650 ya 5 inch shotgun stacks
My grandpas got the same truck. 2500 with 90k miles he said he would sell me for 18gs. I feel like it’s a bit too much but what do you think
What exhaust was on the truck when this video was recorded?
5 inch shotgun stacks
doing a lot of shifting, when i get to 5th i leave it there ..LOL
Whats the exhaust system?
Just got me a 2001 24v 5 speed
Is it for sale
I’d watch how you down shift. Rev match a little quicker, it’s easier on the clutch.
How are the 5spds in these trucks? Reliable?
Probably one of the most reliable transmissions you’ll find, mine has 340,000 problem free miles on it with only an oil change at around 200,000
When did Cummins start building 5 speeds?
How many miles
Sounds like it’s straight piped.
What should I do to mine to make it sound like yours
He has 5 inch shotgun stacks
Do you know if the 2001 Cummins sound anything like this?
Hector Contreras yes pretty well the same

czcams.com/video/27p4VS_sNcs/video.html
Hector Contreras well if you want the sound like this truck you should get 24v Cummins and then add some stacks and it’s basically a semi
The 01-02 are a bit quieter I find
Currently in the process of trying to trade my auto 7.3 for a manual 24v and this vid is making the process feel so slow,😩
Take your time with it. Remember. Slow and steady wins the race!
@@oldcroneysgarage9739 that’s the proper thought process for owning a Cummins 😂
Sounds like a semi
Please tell me its clutchless shifting
@Colton Lester well not if you want them to last
I got a 99 3500 and I shift without the clutch

Was that an auto before and someone threw an NV4500 in it?
Why do you think that
Loose motion for days
Garbage downshifts.
Learn to shift.
Are you joking or your just mad you ain’t got a permit yet
Learn to not steal pictures from people that aren’t yours.
I know damn well you stole that from the Dog House
