You had to sign up for a online Pokemon newsletter before a certain time and you'd get a email but unfortunately a lot of people didn't get the email like they were supposed to, myself included. So I went on the site and asked about it and got my codes. Babayum.
I live in New Zealand and I recieved that email. I don't have a switch so I gave those codes to my friend, he was the happiest person on earth at that moment. He promised he would give them to me when I get a switch, but I told him that he could keep them. I was very happy about those codes and my friend was extremely excited, I swear that he was almost as happy as Ash Ketchum was after winning the world coronation. I will never, ever regret signing up to that newsletter, it sounds like it paid off in a big way. I am still young so I never knew how rare those Pokemon were and are.

@@RobotnikPlays Pikachu and Charizard are defo not "fan" favourite. Most Pokemon fans dont even like those two, it's the casual players who do and that's why GF keeps pushing them in every game.
I assume you meant these two pokemon can't learn these attacks in recent time, but just to clarify for those who don't know: Charizard can learn Seismic Toss, and Machamp can learn Double-Edge in specific ways that don't require an event. Simply put, there are Move Tutors in gen 3 that can pull this off.
The Emerald move tutors were crazy. Chansey/ Blissey with Seismic Toss had been played up into gen V because of them. (I don't know about the more recent metas)
Anybody else with hundreds if not thousands of hours invested in pokemon and learning about these facts and events 10 years later realizing what you missed out on because the franchise will never put this much detail into another game…
I mean there's events in every generation. Tho I wish I took part during the Ds era of pokemon. I just love event pokemon and the cherish ball they usually come with.

Seismic Toss actually isn't rare on Charizard at all, it could be taught to Charizard (as well as many other pokemon) in Generation 3 via a move tutor in FRLG, Emerald, and in Pokemon XD.
I've got some of these but the Vivillon are definitely my favorite. I remember spending a lot of my time on the gts looking for the different patterns so I was happy when those events came out to add two more :D
You actually got the one about Dada Zarude wrong- if you were part of the Pokémon trainer club newsletter by September 25th, 2021, a code to receive both shiny celebi and dada zarude would be sent to your registered email.
god, i hate that newsletter! after a couple months it just stops coming! long time no newsletter or did they kick you off the list. who knows. so those kinda events got borderline russian roulette D;
I had the opportunity to own a pokewalker before, so I got the Pikachu with Fly and Surf, and it was the most amazing time of my life. Having to walk with your pokemon and containing a rare move is priceless!
I think something more rare is the surfing and flying pikachu you could only get with the pokewalker during a one month period. You had to walk 10k, with a pokemon in the walker, and have (i think) a 3% chance of the pikachu you encountered having Fly or Surf. That bugger was hard to find!
I used mysterry gift codes through action replay to activate that event again a few years ago to unlock that pokewalker route, it was so fun trying to find those pikachu!! Loved my pokewalker :)
I can confirm that as of Scarlet/Violet, Vivillon's Fancy pattern is back! The first Scatterbug I evolved ended up being Fancy, so I'm not sure if that's just how S/V work or if it was random chance, but it is obtainable again!

In regards to Zarude and Celebi I didn't have a switch (Still don't) and I will never forget the excited expression on my best friend's face as I input those codes. I automatically subscribe to the trainer club newsletter, so this was a really exciting moment for me. I was so psyched when I got those codes, I was so happy I was nearly crying. I've never owned a rare Pokemon in my life, and I was stoked at these two. I watch the movie on my birthday every year just to remind myself how excited me and my friend were on that day.
I was lucky enough to randomly try mystery gift one day and it happened to be during the Pokéball pattern Vivillon event. Got ahold of 3 of them, though I only have two now since I gave one away to a friend a long time ago. And boy am I glad that fancy pattern is SV’s default, because I have been seeking that one out for years.
That v-create Rayquaza....I remember seeing that event on serebii and it quickly disappeared and when I asked my poke friends about it they said it was never a thing. The fact you brought it up brings nostalgia, how I wish I got it!
I love videos like this. Two super rare pokemon I have that i dont believe many other people have would be legit Ho-oh and Lugia in pokemon emerald. You had to bring your game to the pokemon center in NY back in 2004 I believe.
The only one(s) from this list I have are the Dada Zarude and shiny Celebi via the newsletter e-mail distribution. And I don’t know if this counts, but I still have one of the Alolan Vulpix with fire type moves. There was a glitch in the past where Alolan Vulpix transferred into Home would have the Kantonian counterpart’s moveset. I sent her into Shield w/o any issues and evolved her just fine. She still has Flamethrower and Will-O-Wisp.
I recently got a hold of my Pokémon moon copy, after missing it for 5/6/7(?) years. Me and my family recently moved, and do handle cultural stress I started to get into Pokémon again, and after looking for weeks I finally found my untouched Pokémon moon game. It was like a time capsule, and I was surprised a lot by its contents, but I also managed to find the Munchlax featured in this video in my box!

Notched eared pichu and shiny pichu were both available during a gamestop event during the Arceus movie release at the Hwy 249 Gamestop in Tomball, TX. I worked near there, and got them both during that event on break.
It's highly likely they'll be re-released through Pokemon Go eventually, given tht PoGo has released the other patterns already and shows the two unreleased patterns in the pokedex So eventually you could catch them in PoGo and then transfer to Home
I own the pokeball magearna. It was unbelievably hard to get. Digging through all of my old games was hell. think the worst part was catching everything in Alola. I had to flex my shiny pokemon to get some of the ultrasun and ultramoon pokemon. It was before any of the DLC was relased too. If i were trying to get it now i'd be missing a Zarude, which would be extremely frustrating.

I had the shiny/spiky Pichus. I got the shiny Pichu from an online event, back in 2011-2012 I think. They were the coolest event Pokemons I owned, besides the level 1 Giratina.
fun note about the spiky eared pichu: if you tried to trade it away from HGSS, the union room lady will say something like the spiky eared pokemon isn't in their database so you can't bring it to the union room. So it's just there, rotting away in a PC box in a old DS cartirage.
I still have my Spiky eared Pichu, left all alone since he cannot be transferred to Pokémon Home :( Also have Lances Dragonite and Magearna. Not too bad. A lot of these move only events can be taught the moves now too. Also I feel like the original fly/surf pikachu events were pretty rare. Always annoyed me as a kid that Japan got literally ten times the events as us. I remember trading Shinys and max ev trained Pokémon for mythicals and event Pokémon. The events were so cool to me. Getting a max stat Pokémon couldn't be done with vitamins or wings alone and bottlecaps didn't exist, so it actually took a lot of time and effort to get them. They felt so unique, same with shinys, I felt so proud at getting a max stat Pokémon. I could trade them for a shiny because they were that difficult to get. I'm still quite sad that they've been watered down now. Getting almost any shiny in Scarlet/Violet isn't going to take much longer than a day. Getting max ivs, evs and level takes less than 2 minutes.......
So how did you cheat in the Magearna, I know its an old video but he said its literally not obtainable legit, so did you Glitzerpop or some other cheese RNG game code manipulation?
I'd say shiny mew in the main series games would be a good example that you missed as there's no events to get it specifically and it either had to be shiny hunted in old events that were japan exclusive with no increased odds, or cheated in.
@@thepyropitbull Only if you got the Masterwork Research from the 2021 Kanto event (i.e. paid for the event ticket and participated) and completed it. I have mine, but it was absolute hell to complete those tasks as someone who doesn't play PoGO particularly regularly. So, not currently obtainable without having incomplete Kanto Masterwork.
I own a few of those toward the end. Occasionally I use serebii to learn about events. I had to snag Pokebal Magearna, G Bird Trio. Marshadow from an event with GameStop and Dada Zarude/Celebi x2
I have some of these. I got the event Vivillon, I have the Original Color Magearna- hell, I have the weird Magearna that was mistakenly given out to people who completed the National Dex in Home before this was fixed. It's the normal form, 0 IVs, a buttload of weird ribbons, only knows Tackle and Growl, it's gotta be one of the rarest Pokémon I own. I've had offers for it- like, when I tell people I'm not interested in trading, they offer to buy it. I also have the event Lance's Dragonite, still knows Barrier. I EV trained it, made a moveset around it using Barrier, even moved it into Shield to use an Ability Patch to give it Multiscale. I got a Dada Zarude. My HeartGold Pokéwalker still has my Spiky Eared Pichu in it. I have several of the Gigantamax Factor Hattrem, one of which is Shiny. Hell, I half expected you to use that to segue into the Hydro Pump Drilbur, that was fixed even faster, and I still managed to nab one for myself!
You only need all Pokemon from 1 to 890 to get Original Color Magearna, so Zarude (#893) is not needed :) The Dada Zarude event was a global serial code event, not JPN exclusive, you can check Serebii's event dex for this. I also got it from an EU serial event distribution.
I have some of these! I remember getting up early to go to GameStop then traveling 30 minutes to another city for the theaters JUST to get some of these Pokémon. Mostly because the town I lived in as a child didn’t show Pokémon in theaters since it was a retirement town. :P
I got so many codes and I actually ended up forgetting to use most of them back then, I only ever used Mew… luckily I play a lot of Pokémon go, so getting those Mythicals into home wasn’t too big a deal
I do have all those mythical Pokémon that was listed except for the pokeball Magearna. I also used to have both of those different coloured Vivillons but those 2 are lost to time now
That event with dada zarude and shiny celebi happened here in the west too. I applied for it! It had to do with the nintendo newsletter. Here's thing, the ckde to download both of them should have come in an email from said newsletter. Me and many other people never got said email. While others did
Oh that sucks! I went through so many methods of getting Zarude, even buying the codes from people in Japan. I think I have 6 Zarude with 2 of them being dada Zarude.

I know this is not rare but I still have that Yellow Forest PokeWalker map in my original HGSS where you can find Pikachu that knows Surf/ Fly. But personally I prefer fake out/ volt tackle Pikachu that you can get from the same map. With light ball, right nature and maxed EV/IV on Atk/Spd it’s absolutely devastating! Legit destroyed gen4 battle tower and even made it to Silver match with tower tycoon. (YES, a Pikachu that gave OP Milotic no chance and heavily damaged Dragonite with only volt tackle and fake out!) I still remembered it almost OHKOed my brother’s Kyogre in the same level. Who could’ve ever imagine a harmless yellow mouse can have this much potential? Light balls motherfuckers!
I'm much happier knowing I can enjoy my imported copy of Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode. I love Pokemon, but lockout weirdness always left me feeling excluded from a full experience. Digimon might do it occasionally, but not all the time. Here's to Monster Rancher, Yu-Gi-Oh, DQM, and Duel Masters fans as well (and any other monster collection / raising sims I left out or haven't heard of yet).
I'm glad to have a Pokéball form Magearna, I was lucky to get a hold of all the legit events for all the event Pokémon for the 20th anniversary of Pokémon on X and Y.
Not really, so long as you have a 3ds and internet access, all you have to do is download the sumo demo, into a sumo copy and up to home. Not much harder then transferring up any gen 7 Pokémon. You just won’t be able to use it presumably until s/v (if the leaks are true about greninja being in the dex)
@@tommsey_ttv I think we’ll get a free BB greninja eventually, they didn’t axe the ability but changed it to something else so I think they will eventually add it as a mystery gift or home reward or something at some point
I was very proud to have my Pokémon Yellow Pikachu learn Surf in Pokémon Stadium. I was addicted to the Surf mini game and loved taking risks with the double and triple flips.
If anyone had any of these pokemon they should duplicate it and send it off to be archived somewhere. There should be a (potentially publicly funded) archive of Pokémon. Just a place to hold onto rare or old or unique pokemon to make sure they never go extinct. They could do fun things where they re distribute some of these pokemon too!
I have quite a few of the older pokemon in this list. My favourites are the shiny legendary dogs from a diamond and pearl special event way back in the day. I still use them to this day.
It was obtainable with a code which you had to register for a code which should be how mystery gifts should be instead of going to GameStop where codes are most likely gone.
I acually have a cape (dada) Zarude :) Compleating my Home Dex and only need 80 mons in total... The missing Mythicals are volcaneon, genesect, diancie magearna and Marshadow :) And gl with ur channel :p
After the 6th gen Kanto Tournament, which gave you Lances Dragonite, there was also a Johto Tournament, which gave you Biancas Miltank. Felt it was worth mentioning.

I mean Bianka, you mean Whitney, but we're both referring to the same arena leader. I just forgot she was called something entirely different in english.
1:15 I’m so glad I still own my copy of heart gold to this day. My favorite remakes so I got it day one and I was able to do every event and still have the pichus on my save 💛
I have a good chunk of these 😊! My rarest pokemon has to be the Home mystery gift Grookey with its hidden ability. What makes it rare is that it was a shiny Grookey which was a rare chance of happening since most MG are shiny locked. Those bad boys weren't and mine was a beautiful shiny boi!
I have one of the Ash-hat Pikachu’s, the Z-move Munchlax, and Fancy pattern Vivillon. I used to have the pokeball Vivillon and special black Floette but I wondertraded them back in Gen 6 when I was bored 😭
There are ways to get certain pokemon registered if you have pokemon go e.g Mew, Celebi, Shiny Celebi, Meloetta, Genesect, Jirachi Victini and Zarude, also there was a Victini event in Sw/Sh. So to my knowledge I think the only ones you'd have trouble with are Volcanion and Diancie

Can you do one about the infamous rapid spin Golem? According to Bulbapedia there was a Geodude that was released a while ago through some event that knew rapid spin but I can't find further details on it
I have the Rayquaza with V-Create transferred until my Gen7 Moon cartridge. I gave it a golden bottle cap to max IV, EV trained it and occasionally use it with it's mega evolution in free battles 😛

Sadly this was quickly patched and now deemed illegal. There was also a glitched SwSh raid den event that involved a Drilbur learning Hydro Pump

I honestly have a decent portion of these as I was always active playing since yellow, nice to see the region locked ones though.
I recently got a hold of my Pokémon moon copy, after missing it for 5/6/7(?) years. Me and my family recently moved, and do handle cultural stress I started to get into Pokémon again, and after looking for weeks I finally found my untouched Pokémon moon game. It was like a time capsule, and I was surprised a lot by its contents, but I also managed to find the Munchlax featured in this video in my box!
This video made me proud of myself being the owner of some of these Pokemon.
Especially the Pokeball Magerna and the shiny Galarian Kanto birds.
I have them, the Hurricane Mewtwo and V-Create Rayquaza 😁

Notched eared pichu and shiny pichu were both available during a gamestop event during the Arceus movie release at the Hwy 249 Gamestop in Tomball, TX. I worked near there, and got them both during that event on break.
My Omega Ruby days were full of trading and collecting, ended up with a V create rayquaza as well as a buncha daisuke club Pokémon from gen 4
Im quite happy I have both of these Vivillon patterns from back of the day. Didn't know they were never re-released.
It's highly likely they'll be re-released through Pokemon Go eventually, given tht PoGo has released the other patterns already and shows the two unreleased patterns in the pokedex
So eventually you could catch them in PoGo and then transfer to Home

I own the pokeball magearna. It was unbelievably hard to get. Digging through all of my old games was hell. think the worst part was catching everything in Alola. I had to flex my shiny pokemon to get some of the ultrasun and ultramoon pokemon. It was before any of the DLC was relased too. If i were trying to get it now i'd be missing a Zarude, which would be extremely frustrating.
You can just buy a code for it on eBay. Mystery gift isn’t region locked. I bought a Japanese event code for $1:99 and got him.

@@Goro_Maj1mayes, it is. He’s not talking about buying a mon on eBay and having it traded, he’s talking about buying a code from a an event card and then entering that code into the mystery gift function. If the code works with mystery gift (on modern games), it’s legit.
I had the shiny/spiky Pichus. I got the shiny Pichu from an online event, back in 2011-2012 I think. They were the coolest event Pokemons I owned, besides the level 1 Giratina.

fun note about the spiky eared pichu: if you tried to trade it away from HGSS, the union room lady will say something like the spiky eared pokemon isn't in their database so you can't bring it to the union room. So it's just there, rotting away in a PC box in a old DS cartirage.
I had a flying Pikachu, but i traded it for a Diancie when it was rare. The Fact that i lost my Pokémons including Diancie hurts even more.
I have the rare vivilons!! i remember trying to get every form of them, and i still miss some regional variants but i have all the events :3

I got my pokeball magearna. Completed a living dex in gen 7. So glad I was finally able to transfer them up to home
I still have my Spiky eared Pichu, left all alone since he cannot be transferred to Pokémon Home :(
Also have Lances Dragonite and Magearna. Not too bad. A lot of these move only events can be taught the moves now too. Also I feel like the original fly/surf pikachu events were pretty rare.
Always annoyed me as a kid that Japan got literally ten times the events as us. I remember trading Shinys and max ev trained Pokémon for mythicals and event Pokémon. The events were so cool to me. Getting a max stat Pokémon couldn't be done with vitamins or wings alone and bottlecaps didn't exist, so it actually took a lot of time and effort to get them. They felt so unique, same with shinys, I felt so proud at getting a max stat Pokémon. I could trade them for a shiny because they were that difficult to get.
I'm still quite sad that they've been watered down now. Getting almost any shiny in Scarlet/Violet isn't going to take much longer than a day. Getting max ivs, evs and level takes less than 2 minutes.......
So how did you cheat in the Magearna, I know its an old video but he said its literally not obtainable legit, so did you Glitzerpop or some other cheese RNG game code manipulation?
I'd say shiny mew in the main series games would be a good example that you missed as there's no events to get it specifically and it either had to be shiny hunted in old events that were japan exclusive with no increased odds, or cheated in.

@@thepyropitbull Only if you got the Masterwork Research from the 2021 Kanto event (i.e. paid for the event ticket and participated) and completed it. I have mine, but it was absolute hell to complete those tasks as someone who doesn't play PoGO particularly regularly.
So, not currently obtainable without having incomplete Kanto Masterwork.

I own a few of those toward the end. Occasionally I use serebii to learn about events. I had to snag Pokebal Magearna, G Bird Trio. Marshadow from an event with GameStop and Dada Zarude/Celebi x2

I have some of these. I got the event Vivillon, I have the Original Color Magearna- hell, I have the weird Magearna that was mistakenly given out to people who completed the National Dex in Home before this was fixed. It's the normal form, 0 IVs, a buttload of weird ribbons, only knows Tackle and Growl, it's gotta be one of the rarest Pokémon I own. I've had offers for it- like, when I tell people I'm not interested in trading, they offer to buy it.
I also have the event Lance's Dragonite, still knows Barrier. I EV trained it, made a moveset around it using Barrier, even moved it into Shield to use an Ability Patch to give it Multiscale. I got a Dada Zarude. My HeartGold Pokéwalker still has my Spiky Eared Pichu in it. I have several of the Gigantamax Factor Hattrem, one of which is Shiny. Hell, I half expected you to use that to segue into the Hydro Pump Drilbur, that was fixed even faster, and I still managed to nab one for myself!

You only need all Pokemon from 1 to 890 to get Original Color Magearna, so Zarude (#893) is not needed :)
The Dada Zarude event was a global serial code event, not JPN exclusive, you can check Serebii's event dex for this.
I also got it from an EU serial event distribution.
It really isn't too hard to get; I have one myself. It just takes time.
I have some of these! I remember getting up early to go to GameStop then traveling 30 minutes to another city for the theaters JUST to get some of these Pokémon. Mostly because the town I lived in as a child didn’t show Pokémon in theaters since it was a retirement town. :P
Fun fact, the spiky eared pichu event can be triggered with any shiny pichu! so you can still get the spike eared pichu with some patience

For the 20th anniversary they released all the mythical at the time, glad I kept those and got my PokeBall Magearna 😁
I got so many codes and I actually ended up forgetting to use most of them back then, I only ever used Mew… luckily I play a lot of Pokémon go, so getting those Mythicals into home wasn’t too big a deal

That event with dada zarude and shiny celebi happened here in the west too. I applied for it! It had to do with the nintendo newsletter. Here's thing, the ckde to download both of them should have come in an email from said newsletter.

I know this is not rare but I still have that Yellow Forest PokeWalker map in my original HGSS where you can find Pikachu that knows Surf/ Fly.
But personally I prefer fake out/ volt tackle Pikachu that you can get from the same map. With light ball, right nature and maxed EV/IV on Atk/Spd it’s absolutely devastating! Legit destroyed gen4 battle tower and even made it to Silver match with tower tycoon. (YES, a Pikachu that gave OP Milotic no chance and heavily damaged Dragonite with only volt tackle and fake out!)
I still remembered it almost OHKOed my brother’s Kyogre in the same level. Who could’ve ever imagine a harmless yellow mouse can have this much potential? Light balls motherfuckers!
I'm much happier knowing I can enjoy my imported copy of Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode. I love Pokemon, but lockout weirdness always left me feeling excluded from a full experience. Digimon might do it occasionally, but not all the time. Here's to Monster Rancher, Yu-Gi-Oh, DQM, and Duel Masters fans as well (and any other monster collection / raising sims I left out or haven't heard of yet).
I'm glad to have a Pokéball form Magearna, I was lucky to get a hold of all the legit events for all the event Pokémon for the 20th anniversary of Pokémon on X and Y.

Not really, so long as you have a 3ds and internet access, all you have to do is download the sumo demo, into a sumo copy and up to home. Not much harder then transferring up any gen 7 Pokémon. You just won’t be able to use it presumably until s/v (if the leaks are true about greninja being in the dex)

I was very proud to have my Pokémon Yellow Pikachu learn Surf in Pokémon Stadium. I was addicted to the Surf mini game and loved taking risks with the double and triple flips.

If anyone had any of these pokemon they should duplicate it and send it off to be archived somewhere. There should be a (potentially publicly funded) archive of Pokémon. Just a place to hold onto rare or old or unique pokemon to make sure they never go extinct. They could do fun things where they re distribute some of these pokemon too!

I have quite a few of the older pokemon in this list. My favourites are the shiny legendary dogs from a diamond and pearl special event way back in the day. I still use them to this day.
Dada Zarude was obtainable in the US when the movie was released on Netflix. It was through a mystery gift very easy to get back then.
It was obtainable with a code which you had to register for a code which should be how mystery gifts should be instead of going to GameStop where codes are most likely gone.
Oddly enough, I got Dada Zarude and shiny Celebi through making a Pokémon Trainer Newsletter account; got the codes through email.
Sadly I have all of these lmao.. through trading in sword/shield and pokemon home for a few years. Truly these pokemon are a must in your collection!

I have a good chunk of these 😊! My rarest pokemon has to be the Home mystery gift Grookey with its hidden ability. What makes it rare is that it was a shiny Grookey which was a rare chance of happening since most MG are shiny locked. Those bad boys weren't and mine was a beautiful shiny boi!

I have one of the Ash-hat Pikachu’s, the Z-move Munchlax, and Fancy pattern Vivillon. I used to have the pokeball Vivillon and special black Floette but I wondertraded them back in Gen 6 when I was bored 😭
There are ways to get certain pokemon registered if you have pokemon go e.g Mew, Celebi, Shiny Celebi, Meloetta, Genesect, Jirachi Victini and Zarude, also there was a Victini event in Sw/Sh. So to my knowledge I think the only ones you'd have trouble with are Volcanion and Diancie

Can you do one about the infamous rapid spin Golem? According to Bulbapedia there was a Geodude that was released a while ago through some event that knew rapid spin but I can't find further details on it
I have the Rayquaza with V-Create transferred until my Gen7 Moon cartridge. I gave it a golden bottle cap to max IV, EV trained it and occasionally use it with it's mega evolution in free battles 😛
