    it looks like a strong gears . I wonder if it shares any parts with an evo 2 or 3 in the gearbox and how much power it can take

    do you have any tips on screwing those holes? any piratical order for instance?

    Have you ever had a problem with getting back into first when coming down the gears? I feel like after watching this the syncro spring might be worn also as I need to be completely stopped before I can go back into first. best way to describe it feels like the reverse lock going from 5th to reverse.

      Every fto box I've driven seems difficult to put into first. I have experienced 3 different boxes now and have rebuilt 2 others. I believe its the short first ratio and the design of the box but I've obviously not driven a brand new one to be able to compare it to.

      @@ManSeeksCivic Aye its a right pain in the ar..... asked on a couple forums and seems the go often responded with "just get used to it" ohwell nice one on the videos man, its good to hear a familiar accent now I've moved to Australia :D

    Hello pamo hope all is well , having troubles with my mivec manual gearbox , the gear stick is all loose have lost 1st and 2nd gear and 3rd gear is now wear 1st gear should be , my mechanic said it's something to do with the neutral side and will fix it if I can source the parts , any chance you could point me in the right direction what parts I will need

    • @ManSeeksCivic
      @ManSeeksCivic  Před 2 lety +1

      That's sounding very much like shifter problems. The cables and brackets have rubber bushes that connect the parts.
      The best place for parts is :
      www.viamoto.co.uk/products.php?cat=FTO+-+Clutch+and+Manual+Gearbox+Parts
      Inspect all the linkage connections carefully before looking further into the box itself. 👍

    Hey Pamo, I’m getting a strange sensation shifting into 3rd sometimes where there’s no audible crunch but it almost feels like it’s the actual shifter itself rather than the gearbox. Any ideas? It doesn’t happen all the time
    Love your FTO videos, they’re honestly a gold mine

    • @ManSeeksCivic
      @ManSeeksCivic  Před rokem +1

      Thank you very much. The linkage itself could have a foreign object getting around the mechanism, there's enough space around the cage for something to get stuck. Pull the centre console and check there's nothing there. After that inspect the cables and the bracket in the engine bay for anything loose or broken. Good luck.

      @@ManSeeksCivic Thank you heaps for the reply! I will maybe try source a rebuild kit or see if I can get the parts to do so here in Aus. It’s had me concerned but there’s never been a sound to it just a feel and it’s not every time. Hopefully it is just something in there! Time will tell when I finally get to it, again appreciate your videos and help!

      @@ManSeeksCivic 36:00. Cant seem to get that snap ring to seat...

    • @ManSeeksCivic
      @ManSeeksCivic  Před 3 lety

      Hmm, there's no real trick to it. Assuming all the case bolts are tightened and the ring is sitting just on the lip of the bearing, the short thud of dropping the gearbox should seat the ring. If its just not going in, there's only 1 option and I'm afraid it's to tear it all back down and ensure there's nothing fouling the bearing or ring.

    Pamo i want to convert my FTO from auto to manual can you helpme to sort it all out , i know its going cost me? Pleasereply

    • @ManSeeksCivic
      @ManSeeksCivic  Před 2 lety

      I've never done this in an fto but I'm sure the process would be the usual. You'll need a gearbox, pedals, clutch kit, clutch slave-master and pipework, dash clocks, interior gear shifter and cables etc. The best advice I can give you is to try to find a scrap car and strip everything out of it. It sounds like a massive job but in reality it's never as hard as it looks. If you can change a clutch, you can manual swap a car.
