I've watched a few of your Triumph reviews. Your accent reminds me of my family and growing up in London England.
I was born in Woolwich. I would say you definitely have a Cockney accent.

One of the most genuine reviews. I did a X-pipe upgrade on my bonneville t100 and I was quite disappointed with the result.
I guess I hyped it up myself; Very minimal differences and less engine breaking on the lower gears. Sound differences are minimal as well.

i totally connected with you on getting your bike gear on most times it's the only thing that gets me out of bed and of to work i love it it's like a anything could happen , with canned heat on the road again humming in my head ,i am nearly 61 and its always been like that the bike in my profile is my first big bike i got in 79 and i still have it on the road i have a T120 now and going through all your reviews i shall just go for the booster plug and loads of WD40 to keep the corrosion at bay .

Ya know, I'll never use a K&N oir nor air filter because Project Farm did an experiment that showed K&N is too porous and will allow contaminants into the oil or air system.
I'll stick with HiFlo Filtro .
I know..nothong you can do with helmet hair ...lol. My hair looks like this most if the time as im always on the bike, so inevitably it ends up like this most days. Interesting about the filter! definately worth looking into more. I may have a read about the HiFlo, I was also looking at these as an alternative. Thanks for the feedback.

Nice to see your comment on the K&N air filter. Myself personally i wouldnt use one, i have seen too many youtube videos on particles going through the filter. I would rather spend more money and time replacing with OEM filters than hundreds of ££ having rings and valves replaced, But that is just my opinion, i am sure lots of people will disagree though.

Great video! An inexpensive way to increase performance is getting a larger rear sprocket, I got a 44 tooth from Esjot. Works well, but in retrospect a 43 may be the better compromise ;)
ciccio bello hi. Thanks for the feedback. Yes I’ve done that too. Upgraded the chain and sprockets and definitely noticed the difference there.
ciccio bello you might be interest in my video on chain and sprocket ratio’s on my channel where I look at how you increase torque or top end power by variations in front and rear sprockets.
I am using RamAir pods on my Bonnie and will look over DNA filters for the Trident. K&N are good and reusable, always happy using them but a bit pricey.

Toni, if you stop the video at 3.20, there are some metal loop things above the gearbox, what are they? My SS doesn't have them...

@@ToniReviews I have a K&N, slightly better sound, couldn't feel any performance increase BUT I think the MPG went up.

The cams are soo anemic in the 865s, that most simple bolt on parts, effect power very little. There's only soo much air moving in and out of the engine with the factory tune. The stock induction and exhaust systems are adequate at that level of performance.
Yep you are correct there Andrew. There’s only so much you can squeeze out, most of these ‘upgrades’ are very minimal, and these are not designed to be performance bikes, however- they are great bikes to enable easy mods to and performance can be enhanced if ever so small

Random question. I have 2 brand new Triumph jackets. One is black leather, the other is a mesh. I bought them for my wife and she doesn’t like riding. They have never been worn. They are size small. I would sell them to you for a very low price. I hate that they are just sitting in a closet. Let me know. Sorry if this weird but I think some one would absolutely love these jackets.

I would never use a K@N filter, not surprising there is no noticeable improvement with performance. Plus the exhaust was changed from original, and no improvement with that change either. You still have to buy K&N grease, aerosol filter cleaner and oil to re oil it. The engineers know how to design and build these bikes and you’re not going to out engineer the engineers. All these changes will do, is make more noise, not more power, and long term engine damage. Just looking through both air filters, shows you which one will protect better, and which one won’t.
To be honest I probably would return to a standard air filter, as this hasn’t made any improvement to performance or noise and the thicker filament will help small particles entering the engine so would have to agree. Although the engineers who design the bikes have to design them to fit ever increasing European emissions standards, so sometimes performance is compromised for this, hence why people choose to spend money on aftermarket performance modifications to get the most out of the engines.
If you put ohlins suspension on your bike (if it was not a R) would it improve the performance? I would say the question is, was the part put on due to cost and so spending more gets you a better part?
What about the engineer who came up with the K&N filters design? Are they just curious guys that decided to design a new filter and said: "hey, this will probably damage the bikes, but we don't care!!" ?
Very good question, and an obvious reply to the naysayers of K&N air filters.
