No shit. They’re ahead of us in curriculum. They actually teach comp sci as core curriculum, meanwhile the US has barely adapted core curriculum since the 80s. We are abysmal in every facet of education. This gap will only grow exponentially unless we seriously start to invest and care about our education system the way China, Singapore (especially) and many other countries do. They are too far ahead of us to reasonably expect for the US to lead in any tech industry in the next decade alone. This will also be clear as war evolves to tech and aerospace.

@@joealbert1136 Because schools just don't care, as well as, half of the kids don't care about school nor the parents. Financial literacy, computer science, and etc. in public schools are rare because not many school boards/students care for it. I worked in a middle school and more than half of the class had grades in C's,D's,F's. And these same kids were the ones skipping school, doing devious licks, and having let's say SUPER intimate hangouts in the bathrooms. During COVID, school district got lots of money and guess what they spent with it? Gaming PCs; for a "future" computer science class that still doesn't exist. Not saying all schools are like this, but the public school system is broken and does not prepare anybody well for the real world. Overall, our society is rotting.

@@joealbert1136 - The US, last time I checked, was about 19th in the world in educational rankings... no country has ever run the world from such a lowly position. Your education of today is your economy of tomorrow and China is top in world rankings (even though Google tries to hide that by breaking China up into Shanghai/Hong Kong/Taiwan, etc.). The 21st century is a century of technology and education is key... this will be the century not only of China, but of Asia. The world is rebalancing back to how it used to be, when Asia always dominated the world. It's all about STEM in education and the west stopped teaching STEM because of many reasons but a major factor was pressure from parents to make the curriculum easier... ending up with too many students with degrees in language studies, history or gender studies and these topics don't build economies.

AI all depends on the source it's trained on, when it comes to machine learning and AI evolvement, China has a massive source of data, so it's lightyears ahead on that front. The issue with theirs is accuracy, because the data they mine will be a product of their own ecosystem, and skewed to a certain bias.

Snort! China is not ahead of us in AI, they have some capabilities with AI but that does not equate to some how being ahead of the US. Furthermore China is at least a decade behind the US on microprocessors and that distance is now set to grow as the sheer amount of money in China being lost to corruption is just mind boggling.
What you are seeing since Trump took office in 2017 is the US slowly and steadily pulling ahead of the Chinese on just about any industry that requires large processing power.
When you combine this with all the other crap going on inside China you get a general picture of malaise that doesn't indicate China getting ahead of the US at least not without the US actively aiding China and that's not happening any more for obvious reasons.
Furthermore don't expect China to pull out of the current economic downturn inside China quickly. China requires a complete overhaul of its economic system and that's unlikely to happen until things utterly break inside China and the CCP has no other choice.
