The more I watch these channels the more I am amazed with what Les Hiddins "Bush Tucker Man" achieved with Army issue Land Rover and trailer - loved his show - a true Bushy.
It was what started me off with 4x4, camping and the outdoors watching Les on a Sunday afternoon.

Super awesome truck there mate! I'm a Patrol man myself & the ol' TD42 is hands down the best of the bunch imo. Mine ain't no where near as tricked out nor as tidy as yours but she does the job.

Love the gu, i like the use of the frontrunner gear, I have an fj cruiser that we use for remote wheeling & camping & find the front runner gear is great for space saving modular stuff, i also use the toolpro case bolted to my rhino rack awning for recovery gears, great build!!

I had my Jimny coted in Line-X. It cost the same as a standard respray and it was one of the best decisions I made for my off roader.

Front runner make excellent stuff! I've got their 60L water tank and gas bottle holder. Good quality stuff. And FYI they make the factory tow bars for Toyota.

Interesting info on the vinyl wrap especially the cost. I put manual AVM hubs on my GU after the factory ones played up.
The HX2 Hema ( which I have in my GU) is a vast improvement over the HX1 . No issues for me. Great rundown of the GU guys!

SUGGESTION: Fyrlyt (a great Adelaide based light manufacturer) have a special deal on until 29/2 on their Nemesis lights....$693- for a pair. These are usually $990- a pair and simply blow away any other light. Forget LED and HID....these 250 watt lights are Aussie made with German globes.

I have that Frontrunner table as well. Wicked expensive but quality. Solves the whole first out, last in scenario.

BTW, that dual rear swing out tire carreier has got to be the coolest thing ever. If they made them for Jeep Wranglers I might even be tempted to go back down to 33" tires!

The electrical issue with the switch on those SB X20 winches is very common, the switch itself is extremely cheap and from what I've read (and my experience) it fails 100% of the time. It is very quickly and easily replaced by a better quality, preferably waterproof replacement and it solves the problem completely.

My front light bar on roof rack is great till your driving at night in rain i put a switch on it so i could turn off for that

Love the patrol mate. Just wondering how you went about mounting the max tracks to the top of the frontrunner rack? I have the same rack and the mount points don't line up with the rails. What turbo are you planning on upgrading to?

cruise control is Aus Cruise. I don't think they are in business anymore though.
Ok thanks, it seems no one does cruise control kits for the Td42 that keep the factory buttons. Been told autostrada might be able to make there’s work.

Did you do the shock towers before or after the hyperflex arms and what did you think of them?
I have the hybrid superflex arms in mine and can honestly say there awesome
Extended shock towers went in at the same time as the radius arms. Definitely worth it if you want more suspension travel. Downside is you need to take to your inner guard with a holesaw.

Yep you're onto it, wheel bearings get a fair flogging. Camp chairs are Frontrunner, super compact.
@@SIDETRACKED they'd easily be the most replaced item on my truck (I've had 2x GU's over the last 12 years). I don't know how someone hasn't re-engineered a better after market design!
