      82 hp isn't too much for most people to handle, unless most people have extremely poor impulse control or something like Parkinson's, causing them to violently twist their right wrist at inopportune times. My bike has 86 hp and no rider modes, and I've never found it to get away from me or be too much to handle or anything like that. I tried the 1290 Super Duke R a while back, that was very difficult to handle smoothly, but that has 175 hp.

    • @thespectator5259

      @@rolsson4365 You have to also take into consideration that the original Z900 had poor suspension, poor brakes, was heavy ,and had a poor frame.
      Of course 82hp would feel sketchy....
      Meanwhile, 120hp feels reasonable on any mid 2000s 600cc bike on account of their excellent frame, suspension set-up and proper brakes. Zip ahead another 10-15 years to today, and that same original 82hp feels underwhelming on current day sport bikes with not only great frames, suspension, brakes, but ALSO modern electronic aids (ABS, six axis TC, wheelie control).
      It's not just the HP you have to take into account, but all the other improvements that makes something from 20-40 years ago that was fast feel relatively under powered today.

    Coming from the Mt09 and now on the z900rs café I loved my Mt09 but the Z900rs for me is a all around motorcycle and I don’t understand why you guys think it doesn’t want to rev I actually pushed mine with more confidence than my Mt09 plus the build quality is more superior.
    But I don’t think the XSR is the direct competitor, the z900rs is more in comparison with the speed twin.

    • @whimsicalstray
      @whimsicalstray Před 2 lety +1

      I kind of wonder how it compares to the an r nine t or the current 900 monster? Obviously, both of those are twins, along with the speed twin, so I'd expect more low range torque.
      Maybe the Z900rs is just alone in being a four cylinder, standard with retro design. Sure, there are still plenty of four cylinder bikes and cafe inspired bikes, but the Z900rs is the only currently produced center of that venn diagram, that I can think of...🤔 The Honda cb650r is probably the closest, but with less horsepower and torque (I'd nearly forget about it.)

I know that CB have 27hp more and I know that is more expensive and i also know that CB have 10 NM more but they are not really far away in torquiness as XSR is bit lighter. Both of them are neo cafe racer style. XSR is more old skool while CB is more modern. Especially comparison between CB black edition and 2022 XSR as new model have slightly longer wheel displacement.
