You'll need a balcony outside your bedroom, and/or a widows perch on the roof. Also, is this the new fad after tiny houses? Just snatch a house, slap some wheels on it, and drive it home.
fixing the steering is not that hard, I do it to my trucks all the time the 8 wheels in the back give a lot of resistance, I always make the backwheels also steering (few degrees) then I adjust left and right turn individually for the Ackerman principle, and that reduces sliding significally
