The simple zipper pouch seen in the opening credits is super useful for holding full bobbins of floss for your project. You can find the blog post: amerooniedesigns.com/how-to-s...
If you have never tried KAM snaps (the plastic snaps I use for the closure) you can find a starter set on Amazon: amzn.to/3oo3nCv (affiliate link) and if you want to see how to install them, I have a video tutorial here: • How to quickly install... - Zábava
While my husband was in ICU, I had the need to find something to do with my hands/mind... after many years I dug out an old cross stitch project and found my passion again. I'll be making your needle book for the doctor visits that will be part of our life. Thank you for the clear instructions and I signed up for you blog too.
Nice needle book and lovely design ideas. One suggestion for securing the scissors would be to place a neodymium magnet under a felt square appliquéd to the lining side of the cover. I would position the magnet square at the scissor hinge. I would also suggest interfacing one flap piece. I’ve made some doggie outfits with snaps (mine were metal) and that was a weak point. Off to create a needle book to match a project bag I just made. Thanks so much!
What a great idea. I was going to put another tab on the top with a snap closure. People all have great ideas.m
Great project! My first needlebook! Thanks!
I absolutely love your design of this needle book. It is simple and straight forward, can't wait to try it. Thank you so much, your explaining is very articulate and easy to understand.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind comment so much!!
Hello, Amy. Thank you for this excellent tutorial. I love that you included variations for the cover and closing. I will definitely be making one-or five!
I signed up for the newsletter and subscribed to your CZcams channel, but still have not received the pattern!! Tried several times!?
Such a great design eye! You coordinate all these different colors and patterns together beautifully
Thank you so much!❤️
Great idea for young adults to hold scissors needles and thread buttons for quick sewing in a pinch. Pretty sewing kit
That would make a great gift for a grad!
What a great idea to make the whole 3 piece set. Would make a fantastic gift. And now I'm off to look at the rest of your tutorials. You use beautiful fabrics
Thank you so much!
Agree! That was a revelation. I’ve been trying to organize some knitting projects currently strewn all over the place, and the idea of a (knitting) needle book and pouch in a larger tote (old computer tote bags) may have just solved my problem.
Love this!! I have so many scraps that I can use for these. Thank you so much!
I love these. And a great way to use our scraps of fabric. And now guess what my next project is gonna be. And we all have those scraps that we love. The bright color one you made is my favorite. You make this easy with your directions
I’m so glad to hear that! Happy sewing!
Very informative and inspiring…thanks so much!
Wonderful tutorial, perfectly clear and thoughtfully presented, thank you!
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for the pattern!

Beautiful. I have learned so much.

You are a great teacher..very clear tutorial and thank you for the pattern. Wanting to make one to go with the project bag I made for my granddaughter..I’m going to teach her to cross stitch! Suzette
Enjoyed this tutorial
Great Video! Can't wait to make one!
This was so wonderful! What a darling book, so useful and pretty! I’m in a bit of a slump to make anything, but your lovely video really inspired, I can’t wait to make my own needle book. Subscribed both to your CZcams and newsletter, thank you!
Thank you for the great tutorial, very helpful
I just found you and liked your pattern best of all! thank you kindly for the freebee and i look forward to more fun things to stitch. happy new year, lucia
I have a kit of snaps but I've never used them. And I made my own needle book but yours is super cute and it never hurts to learn a different way of doing things. I use mine mostly for making hexies. Thanks for the pattern and I look forward to making it and trying out the snaps!
This is awesome and you are an awesome teacher. Thank you ❤️
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate your kind words!❤️❤️
Excellent tutorial. I’ve got 5 cut out. Ready to sew tomorrow ❤
This is so nice. I'm going to give it a try. We lost my grandmother about a year ago. She had an attic full of sewing and other craft supplies, including boxes and boxes of leftover fabric from the many projects she did. I went through and picked out some small scraps to get started. Now I'll have to go get batting. There isn't any of that. Thank you for the tutorial. 😊
What a sweet treasure those will be. I am so sorry for your loss. ❤️
Thank you, love your video and I love the closure
Can’t wait to start one
I’m so happy you liked it! Happy sewing!
So glad i came across you channel, thanks for the tutorial and free pattern.
I am so glad you did too! Happy Sewing!!

Thank you so much!
❤Your work is so beautifully done . Thank you for your share, may God continue bless your little hands .😇
Really great instructions. Thanks
You are welcome! Happy sewing!
Love this needle book
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the pattern & tutorial! I've liked & subscribed. I found that my old needle book didn't work well when I took it with me yesterday to hand sew some hexies. I hadn't used it in years. After looking at a few other videos yours is exactly what I want. I have the snap kit. I love it and I'm always looking for ways to use them. The only addition I'm going to make to mine is writing on the fabric what types of needles are on it. I've never seen anyone use the pages to hold thread and the leftovers before. That's just brilliant and I can't wait to make a few from my scrap bin. I'm thinking that I'll need at least one each for hexies, sashiko, hand quilting and machine needles. Thank you so much! I'm going to check out the other bag patterns too. Have a great day!
Thank you for sharing this darling and practical needle book! I can’t wait to make several of them!
You are so welcome! Happy sewing!

I Really like the use of the words protruding and receding, to designate which is which.
Yes! makes it easier to know which piece to look for. :)
I can't wait to start making my needle book
How soon will I get the pattern.
It should come right away if you have filled out the form to join the newsletter. You may want to look in your spam or junk folder.
Even I can try these.
Just watched this Thanks for such great info & the pattern
Can I ask, where you found the pattern for the needle book please? Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Awesome👍❤️
So stinkin cute! I’ve been looking for a cute tutorial thank you so much for sharing. I can’t wait to see what you do next 👍🏽🙌🏽
Adorable❤
Thank you!
fantastic
Thank you so much 😀
Hi Barbie. This is sweet for gifts or ourself.. see you soon..
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I don’t really sew on a machine very much and barely know the basics. I LOVED your step by step directions (exactly what I needed) How do you put the binding on?
Fantastic tutorial, thank you so much. Can I ask a quick question please? If you wanted to add more than one interior page, would you cut both pieces of felt the same size, or do they need to be different sizes. Hope that makes sense. Thank you again.
It does make sense! I would start out with them the same size, but you will likely need to trim the inside page a bit so they lay flat when the book is closed. You may also want to use a walking foot if you have one to sew the pages down, two layers of felt, on top of the quilted cover is quite bulky! Let me know if you have any more questions! Xo, A
❤❤❤

Loveliest (and most practical) needle book I’ve seen so far. Have signed up for the pattern to give it a go myself 🙂 Do you happen to know the brand/design of the floral fabric (red flowers with black centres) please? I have fallen in love with it.
It is a fabric from Lori Holt. I am not exactly sure of the line- but it might be cookbook.
@@AmeroonieDesigns I rreally appreciate that, thank you!
I absolutely love your work & ideas. I have joined your group unfortunately I cannot find the pattern for these adorable needle books. Could you point me in the right direction to get the pattern. Thank.
In the description of this video there is a link that will take you to the form to sign up for the newsletter that gives you the free pattern. I will put it here though to make it easier to find: view.flodesk.com/pages/61eedd6e60ada4164ea6f06b
Thank you so much for your time on this great tutorial, I signed up for the pattern but I have received anything yet, please if you can help me! 💚
I dudbtoo. She sends a confirmation email to confirm, which once you acknowledge you get a second email with the pattern. You might want to check your 'junk mail' folder for the email. Hope you find it... I received mine within a couple minutes.
still have not received pattern so am stuck as to what size these inside pieces should be
Great video. What is the snap thingy called, so I can buy one......?
It’s called a Kam snap. I found my kit on Amazon. Let me know if you have any more questions! Amy
🌸🌸🌸
Thank you!
So I subscribed to everything I could find (You Tube, newsletter etc...) and still can't get the pattern to show. Does this take days or weeks or months? I thought it may be automatic once I subscribed. Just wanting the dimensions of all to make things easier. I love the video just frustrated on the pattern specifics.
Hi Kimberly!
If you fill out this form, the pattern should be sent directly: view.flodesk.com/pages/61eedd6e60ada4164ea6f06b
Hi I love your little needle book. Nice job. I’ve tried several times to get the free pattern by putting in my email and get your newsletters. However, they never come to my email and yes I’ve checked my junk box could you help?
Of course! You can email me at amerooniedesigns@outlook.com and I will look it up. Or- you can leave your email here and I will see what’s going on. I’m so sorry it’s being a pain.

Thanks!!
Where did you find the tree buttons on the Christmas needle book?
They are old buttons from my stash. I believe they were made by Doodlebug Designs? Either that or they were from Riley Blake Designs. Sorry I’m not more help!
How do we get the pattern and instructions?
22:43 question...why didn't you make your tab longer so you could have sewn it under the binding, then fold it back out to secure? Is there a design reason?
I liked having a little more control of where it was placed once the binding and everything was on. Plus I felt like it lays better without having to be folded back over the binding seam. Basically it’s just personal preference. You could absolutely add a 1/4” to the straight edge and not turn it and then place it just as you describe!
@@AmeroonieDesigns i love asking other women about sewing decisions...I generally learn a lot. I really enjoyed your tutorial and started making a needle book from it. Thank you for answering my question. I personally try to hide everything and sometimes I regret it because it's too bulky or the placement is off...so to hear you say that it gives you better control of location and it lays better, reinforces that you've already done the trials and errors and this is what works best for you. I appreciate...more than people ever know...an honest and thoughtful response...so thank you 😊. I have plans for adding a couple ribbons or elastic to help hold in some scissors and doodads. I also want to add a mini granny square on the outside just for a fun pocket....I think. I have decided that I am not spending money just going to use my scraps....I'm really trying to create useful things with my left overs...and this is a perfect project 👌🏻 😍
That fabric is beautiful?
Thank you! They are almost all fabrics designed by Lori Holt. I love her style!
Can you provide a link to the bigger bag?
Of course! It’s the extra large version of these pouches. www.etsy.com/listing/842333750/pattern-travel-zipper-pouch-set-pdf
