- I'm experimenting around with my Redcat Racing Shredder. I've been told the stock 1300kv motor is capable of running on 6S, but to do that, you'll need to upgrade the ESC from the stock 80 amp to at least a 120 amp ESC. I went with a Hobbywing Quick Run, 150 amp ESC to make sure if I'm using 6S, it should be able to handle it without overheating or destroying my LiPo's!!! Let's see how the first test went... 💥POW!!! -djsoulforce!

Getting bored with staying at home, so I'm constantly "wrenching" lol. I think I can take apart the Shredder with my eyes closed 🤣👍💪🏿🍺💥POW!!!
Don't max throttle on 6S on plastic Spur gear unless you put marine grease on spur gear and pinion gear first before you head out.. I striped my spur gear and replaced it with another plastic spur gear but steel spur gear shipping out mid July due to Pandemic. I took out all stock electronics until both my Surpass 150a ESC burnt out going max throttle in hot California. Gonna try to make a cooling system for my 3rd Surpass 150a ESC with a liquid cooling system + thermo electronic peltier from Aliexpress.com but as of now I installed two BEC with twenty 5v fans running at 12.6 volts straight from 3S lipo battery + a bunch of lights, laser lights, and green & blue neon lights. Gonna add ARC generator & other electronics. I am buzz drinking wine. LOL. I love this freakin Shredder. I can't stop thinking about it. I am about to order a 2nd one mainly for 8S system with best upgrades and never run it.

Thanks for watching and the feedback bro. I still have yet to run it on 6S as the noise and diff slipping has gotten worse. I hate working on diffs, but I'll take your advice and go back and rebuild the front diffs. Since this video, I've rebuilt the center diff, of course, since it's the easiest to get too, but I'm having a bad slipping problem, and oh, the noise is horrible. Updates coming soon. Thanks again.
@@DJSOULFORCE so when you do 6s try this turn the punch level down factory set at 4 I haven't ran mine on 6s with the punch level at 4 since I replace the front differential I would have thought the rear would have went first but it was the front so check your front first I will make a video to show everybody what I've done for upgrades in the drivetrain happy flying happy driving

I have Hobby Max10 120 amp esc and it has like 10 or 11 settings too. i run it on 3s in slash 4x4 and it dont even get warm. Thanks for the video.

I have 1 of them DHK radios and it only good for 75 feet or so. how is yours ?
I routinely get about 300 feet or so, which is a lot better than I was getting with the Redcat TX. I plan to swap it out for a DumboRC receiver soon! Thanks for watching buddy!!!

Where did you get the shims for the shredder? I'm not sure if mine has any. I opened the center diff and it had nothing except the gears, no washer. 🤔 I'm wondering if they sent me a used model or used diff. Looked kinda cheap.
For my center diff, I used a small washer I had laying around the house. There was no washer or shims from the factory and hardly any fluid in there at all. I've been told that the diffs are the weakest part of the Shredder, what a shame!!! Thanks for watching and your feedback.

@@DJSOULFORCE sweet 👍 have you had any problems with the internal diff gears, or the crown and input gears? Have tried shimming them? Ive gone through just about every 1/8 scale monster truck out there and a couple x maxxs but i haven't tried the shredder I've seen videos where the center drive shafts just fall out first run and the diffs can't handle much power but id love to try to beef up the differentials see if it can handle at least enough power to wheely that long chassis 👍👍👍
@@DJSOULFORCE also you should definitely check out the team redcat trmt8e BE6S! One of my all time favorite trucks ever! It's super durable it will do standing back flips on 6s easily and all the gears and drive shafts are huge 👍

Wow you diff probably died by now but I thinks it's you're diff's!! Need to shim it better, I've had that happen so many times, recognize that sound anywhere.
