You thought it was an adventure that featured Fang, BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY A SUPERSTARS PREQUEL COMIC
Is that a Jojo reference!?
@@foxtrap86flame YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
Heavy King showing respect to my man Bark for being able to fight him for so long, especially for commending him to have the strength and endurance of a robot.
Metal, Omega and the Heavies aside, that really isn't much of a compliment...
you can say it doesn't hold much... _weight_
I'm so glad that Bark and Bean had finally decided to ditch Fang and to go their separate ways from now on, and I also love the foreshadowing of the events right after the end of this issue knowing that Fang goes solo from this day forward.
same, i hope we get to see them as a duo now and sega doesn’t just leave it at how it is now
So, Fang was using the Warp Topaz in Sonic Superstars, that would explain a lot. Now they should probably explain how it ended up in that cave Starline will find eventually find it in the Modern Era.
Did he though? I don't remember him teleporting a single time in that game or related material.
Yeah, it really doesn't explain too much in Superstars besides him randomly appearing in a Sonic game again after 20 years or so
I thought the Modern and Classic eras were stated to be different dimensions after Sonic Forces? If so, each dimension might just have its own Warp Topaz (even though they didn't both have their own Phantom Ruby, so it could still just be a case of past and future).
@@GrandmasterDevo that's been re-retconned a while ago; it's back to just being the past.
@@GrandmasterDevo That was un retconned so the Classic and Modern Eras are past and future again.
I really like the Fang series. It's simple and cute, doesn't interfere with the main story, and the second one has my art published, which helped me want to grow my art career further.
Bean: "I am outta here!"
LATER
"Bean: "Maybe we were in the little rush... There is no fun to find ANYWHERE! You still have a free space?"
Fang: "Ahh... the magic of status quo."
I'm sure Honey can find something for them to do.
i hope bean and bark aren't gone for good
samee there my favorites
So we've got confirmation this takes place before Superstars! That explains why Bark and Bean are not around. But how does the Warp Topaz go from in Fang's possession to eventually falling into Starline's hands? We know the guy found it in a cave, but how did it get back there? We may never know.
Also, Sonic being deprived of adventure this whole series was hilarious! 😆
That's a mystery we will have to solve another day.
Well fang is from the past, so he probably sell some of the parts when he got old, and it eventually got lost in a cave
Well knowing that the warp topaz randomly teleported in sonic in tails house during the 900th adventure issue, it would make sense to assume it warped into the cave sometime during superstars
Kind of disappointed that the Hooligans are splitting up. But this mini-series wad still a fun ride.
Same here… I hope they get back together someday… 🧡💜💚
I am so glad Bean and Bark decided to ditch Fang and go on their own separate ways
Bark rules, and Fang drools!
Sometimes it pays to be a man of action rather than that of here-say.
Now that Fang’s adventure is complete, next month will have things go back to the main series!
Where a lot of wrongs await to be righted.
@@videogollumer What “wrongs”? Sorry it’s been a while.
@@hydrocityshark Um, let's see:
1. Mimic's still alive, thus inhibiting Whisper's growth.
2. Mimic's infiltrated the Restoration without getting so much as a background check.
3. Lanolin treated Silver like a child, when he is far more experienced than her.
4. Lanolin instantly dismissed Whisper's claims, when she is also more experienced than her.
5. Lanolin used a death glare to bully Tangle into agreeing with her to kick Silver out.
6. Lanolin respects Amy for being former Restoration commander when Silver was a Resistance co-founder.
7. Lanolin respects Amy for a job she was terrible at instead of for who she really is.
8. Whisper wants to kill Surge, despite the fact that she's a teenager too and that Whisper has her Wisps back.
9. Poor Surge and Kit, are working closely with that scuzzball, Mimic.
10. Jewel partnered with Clutch without background checking him.
11. Belle is still being a big dumb whiny baby, and I'm convinced she's unfairly favoring machines over organics.
12. Sonic is still being overly lenie..... Oh, wait! No, that got fixed; never mind.
@@videogollumer Thanks for the recap.
@@hydrocityshark Np
I was fully expecting Fang, Bean and Bark to reconcile at the end but that is SO MUCH FUNNIER.
But also now they serve EVEN LESS of a purpose in the greater Sonic universe.
I have to wonder if this was something SEGA asked for or if Ian just felt it didn't fit in a canon product when compared to the bios they had gotten previously which said they were good guys.
Or maybe both.
Since it’s a Prequel to Superstars Bean and Bark don’t appear in that game. So…
I like how this explains how, Fang and Eggman were able to rewind time in Superstars.
Edit: you guys gotta learn what a theory is.
1. The warp topaz cannot do that.
2. Why would eggman have it when fang made it clear he intends to use it as an upgrade to the marvelous queen?
3. Fang wouldn't give eggman the topaz to begin with.
@@___8241 1. It can warp reality, Saying it might be able to warp time isn’t that much of a stretch.
2. Fang doesn’t have to show Eggman it, he can hide it and still use it.
3. Do you have a better explanation for how they can rewind time?
@@Taypokemonwe still don't know who Fang's source was that sent him on this wild goose chase in the first place!
@@Taypokemon1. It cannot. You are literally making this up to make sense of something that doesn't make sense in the first place. This isn't the phantom ruby.
2. Yes, because eggman would just reverse time using a contraption he knows nothing about. Definitely.
3. You want an explanation? Alright. Superstars was not made with the topaz in mind whatsoever and now Fang's actions in the game make even less sense due to the fact that he had a space warping gem on him the entire time and never bothered to use it once. The machine used to reverse time is completely unrelated to the warp topaz.
@@___8241I dunno about never used it. He might have used it to get from place to place when he was separated from everyone, cause he wouldn’t want to reveal his new tech.
11:05 My expression when a new IDW Sonic comic is delayed thrice
that expression was hilarious ngl
Yay now we can go back to the main comics also Sonic being deprived from adventure is hilarious in this series
Fang should have seen that coming. After all that 8 chaos emerald bizarre rumor got them so much trouble. It's clearly reasonable Bean and Bark had enough of Fang's antics. Decided to ditch him in the end
Who would have thought, this fang comic connected faster with a game from the main saga than the modern IDW continuity with another game other than forces
This maybe be the Prequel to Sonic Superstars but this the end of The Hooligans 😱🥺🫡
Shaaaammeeee! I’ve always wanted to see more of the hooligans. I get that Fang is kind of a jerk to everyone, but still…
@@bluecoralkraken I Know how are you feeling 👍🏻
I'll be honest, I really loved the miniseries SO MUCH and seeing Fang getting your attention after several years, I was happy when he had his appearance in Superstars, an animation and even his own comic, they They are really trying to bring back the origins heh, I hope they continue like this, about the saga itself it was really fun to follow it from the first one, there were certain things I would like to say, Sonic and tails seems like rushed, only took up a few pages to have something in the final comic, and what about the warp topaz?
And the even saddest part for me, the separation of the hooligan team, was to be expected Since Fang not treating them good, and we now have confirmation that is another Superstars prologue, I'm not going to lie that I expected Fang to treat his only "friends" better Or at least admit that made a mistake
But anyway, I wanted to thank you Mike for bringing all fang editions, Like I said, it's great to see Fang back, and after Superstars, I hope Sega comes back with fang not being the same case of Mighty and Ray (coming back and disappearing) My final considerations, it's a very fun and fantastic mini saga, 10/10 I hope they keep letting ian write these stories, and.. about Fang, keep developing his character after superstars, with him realizing he failed, With his partners, and with himself, returning after, or even talking little about his origins, well.. only the future will anwser that.
Thank you for reading this far! Sorry if this text was too long and I ended up talking too much just about the fang, I'm a fan of the characters, that's all, see you next time and we'll see the return of the principal saga! :)
Perhaps after things go so wrong in Superstars, Fang will start to regret how he treated Bean and Bark. At least it's still head and shoulders above his behavior in the Archie comics.
The Topaz was inside that blasted vehicle this whole time?!
That would certainly explain some... things...
Also, really liking Classic Sonic depiction in the comics here...its like Modern but with the ADHD being overclocked
Sonic’s character here is honestly bordering on flanderization.
@@RealBroccoliHour oh..yeah, I think you're right...
I hope in a future Classic story after Superstars, the next time Bean and Bark show up as allies teaming up with Trip, Knuckles, Mighty, Ray, and classic Chaotix. I imagine they replace Heavy and Bomb because there similar.
Yeah, I'm gonna guess we ain't ever seeing Bark and Bean again outside of small drawings, knowing Sega...
technically this was contiued in fang's big break
I wonder if Fang kept the warp topaz or he sold it off oh and also bark and Bean quit looks like the trio has finally split off
😢
They’ll get back together. This only explains why Bean and Bark are not in Superstars.
@@hydrocityshark That ultimately depends. Yes, it explains why they aren't in Superstars, but it looked like Bean and Bark had enough of Fang. Unless Fang has a change of heart or Bean and Bark go full villain like their Archie Counterparts, Team Hooligan's done.
I hope Classic Sonic Stories after superstars will come in the near future maybe conservations with Trip , Bark and Bean , Trip and Tails you get the idea
Yes!! The Classic stories are so charming!
I know some people are happy about Bean and Bark leaving Fang, but idk, I really liked them as a trio and want to see more of them.
But I want to see more of the heavies personally. (Yeah, you can tell I like villain groups lmao)
11:20 So this takes place before Superstars also it explains why Bean and Bark aren't in the game
I really enjoyed this miniseries. Especially with Warp Topaz being in it.
So the comic was a prequel to Sonic Superstars?!
I guess so.
@@hydrocityshark Guess it explains why Bean and Bark didn't appear in the game. As well as why we haven't seen Trip in the IDW Sonic comics yet. But I still have a lot of unanswered questions. Like...
What happened to the Warp Topaz that caused Starline to get his hands on it?
Who was Fang's source on that eighth Chao Emerald BS?
And what were Bark and Bean doing during the events of Sonic Superstars?
@@charlottea.cavatica1696
1. Definitely agree since it’s been recontextualized as an upgrade. Maybe after Trip’s story, he lost it? Idk
2. Yeah…maybe it could get answered in the Knuckles comic special this year
3. Vacation
@@charlottea.cavatica1696 1. That will be explained in a later date.
2. We don’t need to know, all that is important is that Fang bought into it temporarily.
3. They’ll do their own thing.
@@hydrocityshark the name of the source is important to me. After all, I think whoever it is wanted Fang to find that thing.
Ok so that explains why fang is alone in superstars
9:02 Heavy king looks like a cat
FINALLY! I hope Bean and Bark *stay* separate from Fang, cause as much as I love these three I can't stand Team Hooligan and the villanisation it does to Bean and especially Bark.
Bean was gonna be crazy no matter what he did. Bark though, could probably rein him in better. I just wonder what they’ll do now they’re seperate. Perhaps they become the Hooligans that Sonic mentions come issue 3 of the main book.
I prefer Bean and Bark as Villains.
I like them as gray characters. Like sometimes they help, sometimes they don’t. Depends where them money’s at!
Bark is hitting the Gohan 7:09
6:04 Welp don't mess with Bean
9:24 that's one way to make up to Sonic for missing out an adventure
So the answer to the eight emerald is that it actually doesn’t exist!? That has to be the most anticlimactic and ironic outcome they could’ve gone for.
Basically, the answer is that it was a Warp Topaz, not a Chaos Emerald.
So Fang had the Topaz for a while then Starline got his hands on it.
He said he found it in the cave. We’ll need to learn when it was put back.
5:24
well future you watching sungazer broken you violence
Bigger WHAT?! RUN!
I see that Fang has studied the Joestar Family secret technique... *_NIGERUNDAYOOOO!!!!!_*
Bark was an absolute beast in this issue. Taking down Heavy Rider by himself, and then going toe to toe with Heavy King? That's no small feat. Also, I feel like his pose when it cuts back to the duel later is a reference to something, but can't put a finger on it.
Heavy Magician made clever use of her illusion magic, but I must say it's sad that Heavy Gunner wasn't utilised much compared to the other four. Didn't even get his police drone!
Heavy Shinobi VS Fang was peak. HS making a cheesy haiku about the seasons as he freezes Fang, only for Fang to immediately upon breaking out retort with his own haiku as the Marvelous Queen comes to the rescue was awesome.
Bean taught us an important lesson - when a small bomb won't do the job, use a BIG BOMB!
Sonic craving action reminds me of Sonic the Abridgehog X, and that's all I have to say about that B plot.
With Bean and Bark finally leaving Fang for good (and explaining why the MQ looked smaller and needed upgrades in Superstars), think we might see them team up with Honey in the future?
Unsurprisingly, the ending of the miniseries ties in directly to Fang's role in Superstars... Though strangely, he doesn't lose the Warp Topaz? He definitely doesn't use it at any point after arriving at the Northstar Islands - did he somehow lose it during the flight? Did he somehow just forget about it completely until after Trip kicked his ass? HOW THE HELL DID THIS THING END UP BACK IN THAT CAVE?!
There is one mistake here - Fang took Warp Topaz, not Phantom Ruby.
@@user-qf5fj3mk8e Yeah I was very tired typing this 😅
Alright!
Fang is about to rock and roll!!
Now we just need to know... How did Starline get the Topaz? Did he buy it from Fang? Or did he have to fight him for it?
Neither. We know for a fact that he found it in a cave, likely the same one the HBH found it in. The real question is how it ended up there.
Finally music for the reading
if they made an idw dub for web toon, does anybody want sean schemmel to voice fang and max mittleman as bean???
We final here!
Just curious but how do you upload and edit your comic videos?
It still doesn’t add up on how the warp topaz ended up in dr starline’s hands
All we know is Starline found it in a cave. A lot can happen in a few years
@@xdman0289 Roughly four years, I'd say.
@@videogollumer sorry my bad, I should’ve said how fang got out of jail.

Can you make a compilation of all 4 now that they’re complete? It would make it easier to add to playlists. Not telling you to though, if you don’t that’s fine by me.
I've done a playlist of the four comics of Fang the Hunter on my channel to make It easier to read for everyone. If that's what you meant? Or do you want the issues In one big video? I could do that If you like 👍
@@MikeTheHedgehog I meant one big video so it's slightly less jarring and more straightforward to add to other playlists where the comic isn't the main focus, but I could understand where the confusion came from, thanks

Schade das sich das Team auflösen musste nach all den Jahren
Just recorded my video and edited my video nice showing what happens in the video
Can someone please tell me, what happened with the Warp topaz?
Things aren't completely certain. My personal theory is that Fang lost the Warp Topaz after the events of Superstars, which is how Starline likely found it in a cave (presumably) a long while later.
@@spookyblook yeah maybe
They’ll probably touch on it next time they revisit the classic era. Might even explain why Fang is no longer around in the modern era. Seems obvious at this point the classic era and modern era take place in the same timeline in the IDW comics just during different periods.
