I note that this concert was just a week after the one year anniversary of Roy Hargrove's death. This was probably part of the set as a tribute.

Yohan, such a talent at your age is just unbelievable. I've been following you for 2 or 3 years now and when i see your evolution in jazz in such a short time, for sure only gifted artists like you can do that. Love from Switzerland 😙
He's amazing but Joey Alexander and Jacob Collier are ahead of him in my opinion
@@erasofsound i don't know Jacob Collier. As for Joey Alexander, i used to be extremely impressed by his early talent and i also discovered him before Yohan Kim.
As for Yohan, when i saw him for the first time on CZcams, he used to play mostly pop, pop-rock or blues but when he started to focus on jazz and to develop his genius on that style, i started to find him better than Joey. What i also love about Yohan is, he can play and improvise on any style, he likes to play on keyboards too and he can also play the guitar, he can sing and he composes. For me he's a complete artist.
Dude you should definitely check Jacob Collier. He's music may not be for everyone but he is without a doubt the most talented musician odour century. He's still young and has loads of potential to be one of the greatest

An especially sweet grove and very interesting arrangement. These kids can work! I'm amazed at how subdued the audience is throughout the entire piece; I'm 63 and I can't keep still. Jazz can never die with a generation of younguns like this around. 😎
A more subdued and reflective take on this wonderful piece -- reflected by the audience. Surely they would not keep still if exposed to the incomparable 12 minutes of the Hargrove quintet's 2007 New Morning Club performance.
