    Cars and music go together like ham and cheese, peanut butter & jelly or lamb & tuna fish. Vintage cars especially almost seem to require a good sound system as there isn’t much better than going for a weekend cruise on a nice day with the windows rolled down and the radio turned up. We’re going to install a bolt in, preassembled Vintage style radio head unit in the dash of our 1971 Super Beetle. Other than cutting the padded dash for the radio face plate, no other cutting, trimming or other modifications are required. Follow along as our tech continues the restoration of our Vintage VW.

    Are there any brackets required for the install of the rear speaker tray? Or does it just sit on the rear seat and rear body mouldings? Just ordered one and can’t wait to install!

      For this style speaker tray, no. It just rests on the body and the rear seat.

    We are currently trying to install a stereo on our little orange 71 super and we were curious about front speakers. Any info on how or where to mount those? Is it necessary?

    Will this be similar to installing a RetroSound radio when it’s been put together?

      Hopefully, the RetroSounds are a bit unorthodox as they arrive in pieces.

    Does JBugs sell the fuse/relay block shown in this video? It appears to be a 10 fuse and 5 relay unit

    • @Sam_Mebane
      @Sam_Mebane Před 2 lety +1

      Kind of, we cover the modern fuse box here: czcams.com/video/nDuOLvUk09Q/video.html
      It doesn't have any relays, just 10 ATC fuses.

      @@Sam_Mebane thank you. I’m looking for vendor and p/n for the fuse box connected next to the battery. It provides the power for the starter and the new amplifiers installed. I believe it has three fuses.

      @@ferdinandbaez2410 it's a 4 fuse Maxi Fused distribution block. Google should pull up a number of options.

    What is the model number of the Subwoofer used in the car?

    • @Sam_Mebane
      @Sam_Mebane Před 3 lety +2

      We used www.kicker.com/12-comprt-subwoofer-box-2-ohm but it’s no longer made. The problem with speaker equipment is like cell phones, they are always releasing new stuff so it’s hard to stay in front of it!
