I have the same exact boat and year. I am in the process of removing the original Force 150 and replacing with a used etec. I noticed the bolt holes don’t match with the new etec. How did you over come this? Just fill them and drill new? Thanks!

Guys , don’t mount the fuel filter assy over the battery.

Nice job Will. That job is in great shape for a 90. Did you ever think about buying some older boat and fixing it up and selling it yourself. With your experience it wouldn't be a problem and you could turn a nice profit.

      Thanks John,
I've thought of doing that however I don't have the space or funds at the moment.

What the name or manufacturer for the trailer that you had?

Thinking of a repower of my own. Do you think a 115 would push a v20 okay? Just cruising in the bay and doing some scalloping

      DOWNtownDREWbrown i got a 115 on mine, pushes it 30mph maxed out . I cruise at 26mph

I had a 150 Suzuki 2 stroke on my repowered 1975 step-v. 42 mph WOT. Cruise at 30 mph offshore at approximately 2 mpg. Ran it 13 years inside and offshore Louisiana. Best riding 20 feet of boat in open water…always brought us home safely (once in 8-10’ seas 30 miles out)! Only sold to upgrade to a 25 Bertram fly ridge. Now looking to downsize to the 20 step-v or Dusky. Bertram too big for me to trailer and retrieve from Venice…not to mention cost of maintaining 2 225s.
Knowing the hull, I think you could get by with a 115 2stroke (v-4), but a 4 stroke would be extra weight and less torque. Even a 140 4 stroke won’t do the hull justice, since it is essentially the 115 with higher top end. When I bought the ‘75 step-v, it had a 135 Evinrude that the owner said ran 38 mph, but was just worn out after 10 years of hard use.

Not a great idea for your fuel lines and filter to be right next to each other
