    Yaassssss Jess. I’ve been using the wild growth oil for a while now and I’ve seen sooooooo much growth. My hair has thickened soooo much and I’ve retained a lot of length.

    • @Theredheadguru
      @Theredheadguru Před 4 lety +8

      Oil can’t make your hair grow thicker, thickness has to do with the size of your hair strand, strand size and density are genetic these things can’t be changed

    • @sassys1240
      @sassys1240 Před 4 lety +4

      @@Theredheadguru I don't agree with the density, It's true that density is genetic, but you can get your hair to grow more hair in one follicle and that will make your hair more dense.

    • @boomboom6577
      @boomboom6577 Před 4 lety

      I’m glad to hear it works because my hair stylist made me get some for my hair, but I wasn’t sure it was worth using regularly. My hair is fine. She told me to get it to keep it moisturized, not necessarily to make it thicker, though. She said keeping it moisturized would just make it healthier.

  • @lowkeynonymous570
    @lowkeynonymous570 Před 4 lety +44

    I’m about to break that natural hair rule and go back to using silicones 😭 back then when I used to use it my hair retained SOO much length FAST 🥺🥺 and ever since I started looking at every little product and worrying about every ingredient my hair has gone no where except become REALLY expensive 😭

    • @TaeKat
      @TaeKat Před 4 lety +6

      Silicones are good for you. Well water soluble ones. Because silicones coat the hair so it protects the strands, and the water solubility means at wash day, it’s gone down the drain and you can start all over.

    • @detrafoster3068
      @detrafoster3068 Před 4 lety +2

      Since I went natural my hair seems to have stopped growing. I wonder if that’s why.

    • @boomboom6577
      @boomboom6577 Před 4 lety +1

      YevYev 26 I split the difference: I use a conditioner with aminodimethicone, which is not water soluble, but doesn’t build up on top of itself. And I use a leave in with NO silicones. And when I use the conditioner with silicones, I wash my hair with a mild shampoo within two days to keep it from causing build up. I think it’s worse to use a leave in with silicone. And no, they are actually NOT good for all types of hair. My hair cannot handle silicones regularly. It is too fine. So, they aren’t just bad or good. They are bad or good based on your particular hair type.

    • @boomboom6577
      @boomboom6577 Před 4 lety

      RaeLaRoux: very few products have water soluble silicones, first of all. And more important, even water soluble silicones build up. They latch on to the hair fiber, so you can rinse them off your hair, but you still need a surfactant to remove the silicones that latched on the actual hair fiber. Water-soluble is a misleading term in that regard. They are in reality partially water soluble. But they manage to leave that important bit of information out when they talk about silicones to average consumers.
      Also, some hair types do not do well with silicones. It depends on the hair strand. My hair does not handle silicones well, but that’s because my hair is extremely fine, natural, and easily weighed down. Other people have hair types that do handle silicones much better. When I had a relaxer, silicones were my friend. Now, with natural hair, nope.

My braid outs and 2 strand twists are losing its definition(my ends look like how yours looked before your 2nd big chop), I personally just don't feel comfortable with cutting my ends on my own because I'm fearful of "mis-shaping" my fro so I think I will find a stylist to do it for me... I feel the same way about getting my hair colored again. I'm in the process of trimming it off because I have the worst split ends. I trimmed twice in April. I have about a quarter inch left in some areas which I plan on trimming off around August.

    My hair loves heat but that can also be because I'm low porosity and steam, heat etc works for me. I dont do this often but before a protective style (box braids I do) and same I spray my hair with water then use mint almond oil on my scalp and this is done twice a week (once a week isn't enough, thirst is real) my box braids have lasted alot longer just using these 2 products.
