DJI Mini 3 Pro Low Light Testing and Sunset.

- Hi and thanks for watching. I've not been out hiking or camping for ages but i did manage to leave the house to go to my local beach and fly my drone. It was almost sunset so the light was fading but it gave me an opportunity to test the drone in low light conditions and also to fly over the local Lighthouse which is traditionally known as La Farola (lamp post).
The first lighthouse was installed in Vilanova in 1834 but it was short and didn't have enough range to provide enough protection. In 1865 a first lighthouse with a continuous light was built, along with a home for the lighthouse keeper. Its continuous light lasted until 1905 when it was demolished and the current lighthouse was built in the same place. La Farola is still working and only stopped providing light to sailors during the Spanish Civil War.
The lighthouse tower is 21 metres in height (68ft) with a spiral staircase of 98 steps, and at its top has a dome where a reflecting floodlight is placed with 3 complex optics which are moved by a rotary clock.
The lighthouse sends out 3 bursts of white light flashes every 8 seconds and has a range of 19 nautical miles (35km/21mi).
I hope to get out wild camping again very soon but until then, enjoy this short video. I was quite pleased with the quality and was nice to see Vilanova from above. Enjoy.

Some great shots there Martin. The drone does a really good job dealing with the contrast and retains a good amount of definition in the shadows. On my Mini SE (the entry level model) it doesn't handle the contrast very well at all. Looking forward to some arial footage from your next Pyrenees trip mate! 👍
Cheers Ben. I started off with a ND 16 filter then swapped over for an ND 4 and eventually no filter as it was pretty dark by the time I'd finished. Still playing about with it to be honest hence why there's often the same shots of the port just to see what each filter was doing. Good fun but hopefully will master it sooner or later. Keeping an eye on the weather for next week, so far so good. Thanks for watching mate 🙂

Hi Martin. Nice to see the difference in footage as the sun goes down. Its nice to have the sea near where you live . That light house looks lovely, blackout blinds would be needed if you lived nearby 😅. Thats a great sunset you captured. Hopefully you will be able to get out for some hiking and camping soon. Hi Andrew. Thanks for watching. I live a couple of streets away from the lighthouse but not affected by it at all. Just playing around with the drone really, using filters, different frame rates etc so when I get back to the mountains hopefully can capture the beauty of the place from above. Thanks again. 🙂
