    Mike, not sure you realize but people pay to learn this stuff but here you are teaching for absolutely free and with very good and clear instructions. I use your tutorials as refreshers, as i have learnt a lot from Digital Tutors over the past few years.
    You sure deserve more viewers/subscribers.
    so thank you for taking out time for these tutorials. Much appreciated.

    A thing worth mentioning is that if you are going to be making a sailing object, you will need to use bifrost guided simulation with the ocean. It will take shape of the ocean and interact with the object.

    HI Mike, just wondering if there is a way for me to model my liquid with the ocean shader and then change my material to a mental ray material (i want a chrome liquid, and bifrost seems to not do the trick for me in terms of the look of my scene). Thanks!

  • @killploki
    @killploki Před 7 lety

    why did you plug the ocean shader into the transparency of the blinn and then replace the blinn with the ocean shader on the geometry? just curious, to me it seems like you are losing the transparency you set

  • @jonasvirsila4179
    @jonasvirsila4179 Před 8 lety

    Hi, what do you mean by middle mousing the ocean color to the blinn? I tryed with the middle mouse button clicking and it didn't dragged it to the bling and I couldn't transfer to it.

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  Před 8 lety

      +Jonas Virsila Try this, make sure the blin object is selected in your scene. Then goto the hypershade, select the ocean shader, right click and select "apply to selected"

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  Před 9 lety

      +Sardonix Hi there, the mesh does not deform at all, it is simply a shader designed to reflect light in a way that it resembles water. If you want to actually animate water check my Ocean tutorial czcams.com/video/TqkJgqawwHk/video.html

  • @drawone
    @drawone Před 8 lety

    So as long as I remember... you create a blinn and assign it to the water, then create ocean shader and connect the transparency to the blinn. But you assign the ocean shader to the water again so you see the results in viewport. At last, did you reassign the blinn to the water? or just rendered with oceanshader? you never showed reassigning the blinn.

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  Před 8 lety

    I Notice when you extrude it creates walls meaning there is a face on both sides. In Maya 2016 I tried the exact same thing but the one face moves out and doesn't have a face.
    Made a little pond, works great, trying to float objects now.
