This was the finale of the Chet Atkins Musicians Day Festival in Nashville. - Hudba
Wow. Never seen this before. It was a heck of a night, the finale of the Chet Atkins Musicians Days Festival in Nashville. I had the honor of being the bandleader for that show. This song was the finale of Duane Eddy's set, called "Hard Times," with Duane, John Fogerty, Peter Frampton, Vince Gill, Doyle Dykes on guitars, Randy Leago and Denis Solee on sax. That's me on bass, Steve Turner on drums, Tony Harrell on keyboards. That pretty Lakland bass burnt in my 2009 house fire. Thanks for posting this, whoever did it. A magical night.
Thanks Dave, You can also have a look at this one : czcams.com/video/4R86bfEMC1Y/video.html

What a fantastic set that must've been. and you on Bass? (and you lost your bass- but you survived so good on that right?)Terrific, long string of great musicians there. Too bad the video isn't the best but, hey better than nothing at all. I'm happy to have "listened in" on what had to have been a great show 17 years ago in Nashville.
Ya done good, Dave
And, Mr. Pomeroy, you rocked it, Sir! Great performance!
Duane Eddy, sixty years in the business and still going strong, there should be an award for longevity.
Simply, WOW, WOW, WOW !!! (I'm 63 & Have Been Playing Guitar Since I was 12 BUT Began Listening EARNESTLY to Rock in 1956 at It's Birth !!! And I HAVEN'T Stopped Checking Out New TRUE Talent Thanks to My 2 Sons Ages 26 & 28 Who Have Kept Me Informed ALL the Time !!! My Youngest IS a Professional Guitarist & My Eldest Rounds it Out by ALL of Us ROCKING !!!)
My most favorite Celtic cousin John Fogerty, we get along just fine, we never disagree, we have both taken each other advice from time to time, I am very happy that JC as I call John continued to go out in his traveling band and play many gigs/concerts, John can mix it with the very best from way down in swampy river banks out in te country up to the steps of the white house.
Eddy and Fogerty always had a lot of blues in their playing. This was quite the showcase for that. Awesome job all around.
Wow! Not only D. Eddy & J. Fogerty but Vince Gill & few more awesome musician's; piano, sax & guitar. One GREAT performance!
OMG!!!! And that ladies and gentlemen is real music played by real musicians enjoying thier craft.
If I was heading west on 66 on my Harley, a fella could get a speeding ticket listening to this. Good for the soul!
Real hard times with the illustrious company... This is a gift you will never get tired of.
GOOOODDD SSSTTTTUUFFFFFF...... JUST LOVE IT....BRINGS BACK LOTS OF EARLY YEARS WHEN WE USED TO ROCK....BUT CAN ONLY LISTEN NOW.....
First record I ever bought was Duane Eddy (Peter Gunn). met him in 1960 at the Glasgow Empire Bar, I was introduced to him by Bobby Darin !
PETER GUNN was top.
Hij is er ook geweest ! Je hebt veel mensen gelukkig gemaakt Eddy met je muziek !
Duane and John,,nothing beats this
What a great performance! Thanks for sharing this. RIP, Duane Eddy.
Wow!! What a stellar concert! Wish I was there. 😊
Thanks Mr Fogerty for havin Duane up there whith you
What a treat to find this! Now this is how blues should be played!
John Fogerty learned a lot of Duane Eddy as a 13 year old guitar player. It was a big deal for them to play together with 3 other top guirarists. Duane Eddy still records new music and it is wonderful and fresh.
Never saw this before but raging sax and fantastic guitar. This music holds up.
I'm a huge John Fogerty fan. He was a huge influence on my own personal style but Damn Vince Gill just shines on whatever stage he is on. and seems so unassuming of his talent. I never look at the guitar as competition so i never get into who is the greatest this or that But Vince's talent does make you take notice.
GOT TO SAY THAT THESE GUYS ARE THE TOPS! LOVE TO SEE DUANE EDDY AND JOHN FOGARTY PLAY TOGETHER. THIS IS JB SILVER AND I DO INDEED HERE THE MUSIC!
HEY JOHN FOGARTY I HERE YOU TALKIN TO SOMEBODY IN YOUR EARLY HITS. AM I THE BAD MOON RISING?????? WILL IT GO ROUND IN CIRCLES?????

Had the chance to back Duane up in 1959 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in '59. Chuck Stevens was the local DJ. Had a great time , our lead guitar player was 16 at the time and so impressed Duane the showed up at a local bar net year to play with us! There were about 5 people in the bar when we were playing, when Duane showed up the word got out and "poof" SRO.
David Patterson What was your guitarists name?
Paul Howard was our guitar player, I played bass.
David Patterson Thanks David. I am from RI and thought maybe I would know your guitar player but I don't recognize the name.
+David Patterson ...Too cool!
Duane let me play his Ramirez classical guitar on a Phil Everly album he produced (Star Spangled Springer). Duane himself is a classic. A true gentleman and a definite rock and Roll pioneer.
Phil passed away just about two months ago.R.I.P bro. Still miss you.
+Sam McCue Correction: two years ago. How time flies.

The MASTER and his Apprentices
Good ol 12 bar blues can take the show. Great tunes.
As usual, Vince Gill blows everyone off the stage. The best of the best, Vince F'n Gill.
Absolutely Agree! People go apeshit about Albert Lee, and, yes Albert is great, but there is something about Vince’s touch, taste, choice of notes, well, you know, otherwise you wouldn’t have have posted your comment!
Unreal!
Pure music Magic!

Hardstikke tof ! Bedankt !
what a line up
cool..............................
GOOD JAM!!!!
Considerato una leggenda del rock and roll, Eddy ha iniziato a suonare la chitarra all'età di cinque anni, per imitazione del suo cow-boy hero Gene Autry.
Always my favorite when I was in High School...great guitarist on a par with Les Paul and Chet Atkins in his day.
Jon Paley never played out of three chords, no Atkins
To date (2020) there's at least 99 jealous people. 😂
This is just plain great.
'Walter White' on the sax was surprise... Breaking Bad must have left him a bit mellow.. :)
what a bass
I agree! WOW!@!!!
