Actually Renee wasn't the *original* Regina George on Broadway, that was Taylor Louderman! Renee took over from Taylor sometime around 2019 and was Regina until Broadway shut down due to COVID. Of course Renee was amazing but I just felt like I had to point that out because most people seem to forget about Taylor.
I had never seen the original movie so i just decided to watch this one first with no bias even tho i did know about the bus scene this one still got me because i was focused on Janis singing not Regina and cady fighting
I don't understand people who hate this movie and TBH, it feel very performative, like people who don't know anything about it just think it's popular thing to do. Even in this comment section there's someone who's judging from his nickname, probably a straigth man, so obviously not the target audience for this movie, and I doubt he even watched it, but he felt the need to seek out videos about it just to trash talk.
The problem with people hating on this movie is they try to shove it down the throats of the people who did like it that they shouldn’t like it either because it’s bad. I’m honestly glad someone finally points out it’s not a horrible movie for ‘xyz same reason over and over’ and actually enjoys it for what it is.
i just watched this last night & genuinely enjoyed it bc i didnt have someone in my ear telling me its trash lol. renée, auli'i, and jaquel carried with their vocals! but I also REALLY loved bebe as gretchen. she's so cute.
First and foremost, I love this adaptation of mean girls! Second, I knew from the beginning that it was going to be an adaptation of both the movie and the Broadway musical because of Renee Rapp being in it as she is Regina George from the Broadway musical. Even though I've never seen the Broadway Show 😢 I was so happy to get to see her in the movie because I wanted to see the Broadway show because of her! I find her to be equally intimidating and scary exactly how you would want the queen bee to be. As soon as tickets went on sale, I made sure to buy the Early access tickets for an early screening and I was so glad I did and happy to see the movie early. It was so great and now I own it. as far as musicals go, I don't love all musicals. It's a case by case basis. Even when it comes to Classics, some I find absolutely amazing and others I find boring. So I'm super excited when I find one that makes me as happy as this one did.
Awww, I love that! It’s always great finding a musical that you really connect with. For me it was and will always be Dreamgirls. That’s the movie that really got me into loving musicals as a kid 🥰
This isn't a remake. Its an adaptation of the Broadway show. What sucks is that there a lot of movies that are adaptations of Broadway musicals like RENT, hairspray, Chicago and moulin Rouge, phantom of the opera and even wicked coming out this year. People are just too ignorant and uncultured to know and realize.
Hairspray was originally a movie that turned into a broadway musical then back into a movie. but we can all agree Hairspray did it better then Mean Girls.
Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory was a musical though! It baffles me that people don't expect that movie to be a musical. Gene wilder gave us pure imagination for crying out loud! 👀
@@arkanamaster4961 there are parts of the movie where people are singing and people aren’t aware though, like the song by Charlie’s mom for instance or Grandpa Joes song… if you google it, it’s classified as a musical.
But they’re adaptations of the stage plays of these movies not remakes of the original that’s what people fail to understand lol 😂 so they’re pissed when they go see it and there’s hella singing. I LOVE ❤️ ME some musicals lol so i do not belong to this group.
7:28 Here's why we weren't allowed to use to bathroom freely: In many schools, students have to ask for permission to use the bathroom during class. This might seem annoying, but there are reasons behind it. One reason is that teachers want to make sure students stay focused on their learning. If students could just leave whenever they wanted, it could lead to constant interruptions and less time for teaching. By asking for permission, teachers can manage bathroom breaks and make sure they're not being misused or used as an excuse to leave the classroom for no good reason. Another reason is that teachers want to keep an eye on student safety. By knowing when and where students go during class, teachers can help ensure they're not wandering around unsupervised in potentially unsafe areas. They also want to be aware of any health issues that students might have, like needing to use the bathroom a lot, which could indicate a medical condition. It's important to remember that not all schools have strict bathroom policies. Some may be more relaxed or allow students to use the restroom without permission. The rules can even vary between different teachers in the same school. The main goal is to find a balance between keeping the learning environment productive and respecting students' needs and well-being. If you're not happy with the bathroom policy at your school, it's a good idea to talk to your teachers or school administrators. They can explain why the rules are in place and maybe even consider other options. In a nutshell, students have to ask for permission to use the bathroom during class to maintain order, minimize disruptions, and ensure student safety. But remember, the specific policies can differ between schools and teachers. If you have any concerns, have a chat with your teachers or school administrators.
loved the movie don't know why so much hate was throw on the movie like it might have been fast-paced pace but that is about it and also i think it's because so many people have watched the origanal movie so much the more iconic lines don't hit the same.
Musicals are not really “dead” in today modern society if it’s not an iconic well-known musicals like the sound of music or wizard of oz or west side story society closet thing to a musical is Disney itself. Ever since the little mermaid and disney using the “Broadway formula” to help their storyline it brings in musical fans that don’t even know their fans yet cause Disney did that. Another example if you ask anyone about the sound of music they’ll automatically think Christmas song or a Disney movie. If Hollywood or Broadway was smart they could’ve created their own network solely for Broadway musicals that focus only on original popular broadway musicals turned into movies the audience would know and can make a choice whether or not they want to see it or not. As for Disney if they were smart they could’ve bought out Broadway and turned their musicals into movies instead of the princess remakes cause since it’s Disney it would’ve brought in the money.
The people who hate this movie just don't understand fun!
YUP‼️‼️
Those ppl dont understand that it doesnt have to be a top tier perfect iconic movie to be enjoyable🙄
EXACTLY 🎉🎉
Same! Don’t have to let people tell to love a movie or show you love ❤️ and love
It's not bad, I just didn't like the way they changed a lot of the original lyrics. But other than that, I liked it.
The movie was so silly lol I love musicals
It was and I’m also a musical lover lol
Auliʻi Cravalho & Reneé Rapp are the best things about this

This! It’s objectively a very fun movie. I like to be objective, but I can’t see all the criticism people are giving it.
I agree and I’m definitely not seeking something out that I don’t like and then leaving comments about it. It’s a waste of time to me 🤷🏾♀️

I wouldn’t really say so. It has song numbers but like everyone knows they are singing. A Musical is main people singing instead talking
