    Thanks very informative video. You were the first that I've seen to describe how to use the motion detect feature in the sensors. I knew that the sensors had double duty as both door sensors and motion detection in one but never seen someone describe how they would work as a hallway motion detection.

    Thanks for the review Eddie! I'm also looking to secure my garage with the sensors, but how do you handle it when you're home and going in/out of the garage, but the main base is in the main house? Do you need to run back in and disarm before the alarm sounds? Or in this case, keep the main base in the garage itself?

    • @enelson83
      @enelson83  Před 3 lety

      Hi David, you can set a delay timer when the sensors are triggered. I have mine set to one minute. For me it’s not a big sea since disarming from the app is really easy.

      @@enelson83 Thanks so much Eddie! I was thinking of putting the base unit in there but I see it's not advised for high temp garages (and mine gets HOT). Thanks for the feedback here!!

    • @enelson83
      @enelson83  Před 4 lety

      Hi Damian, when you are home the Nest Guard is set to home and guarding. This allows you to move around the house without motion detection. Motion detection can be set in the nest app. I show in the video to press the button on the nest sensor on the door to do a quiet open. This will not trigger the alarm. I use this every morning when I leave. Thank you watching.

    Another great review. Didn’t know that Nest had a home alarm. Is it monitored (I know you mentioned monitoring). How does it compare to Simply Safe?
    I’ve been considering one for my home.

      Thank you! I called Nest today with some questions and they actually referred me to your video. The case caught my eye lol. Does the sensor only chime or will it also say “front door open”?

    • @enelson83
      @enelson83  Před 5 lety

      Mary Halter Haha! Well it’s a great case you’ll love it. Thank you for watching and calling nest. That’s great they referred you to my video. Yes it will only “chime” when the nest is not armed. It will only announce the sensor “name” i.e. front door, garage door, sliding door..etc when it’s set to home and guarding or away and guarding. Knowing Nest I’m sure they would add that feature in the future with a firm wear update.

    this seems god, until you find out that nest got hacked.Same thing that happened to ring... random people watching you in your home. Except in the case of nest, the hackers told them that there was a nuclear bomb on the way to the US! Can you imagine how scary that must have been. I had to switch to an alarm.com system. The cheapest price I could find is on securityallstar.com

    • @FluffyKittypire

      Cheap isn't always good, what made you choose to go with them?

    • @enelson83
      @enelson83  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes right after I posted this video I head about Nest being hacked. Considering Nest has been around for almost 10 years and almost 5 of those are with cameras and home security I still feel very safe with them. This is the only time in 10 years "that we know of" of them being hacked. No system is completely secure. Considering that Google owns Nest I know they will step up whatever they can to protect their customers. ADT is going through and $16 million lawsuit regarding them being hacked and security is there specialty. I'm glad you found something that you feel safe with. Do some more research on what companies have been hacked and I have found that all of them have been at some point.... Thank you very much for watching my video! I will have more to come in the future.

      @@enelson83 Ignore this Monet "woman". He/She/They comment on every Nest related video, even before the "Hacking" thing and try to discredit them. Nest wasn't even hacked though, the account of the family was. Their passwords were probably leaked or they probably used a very obvious password. Switching on 2 step verification and using a unique password will prevent hackers from getting access to your home. VERY IMPORTANT!

      NelsonandSons Review the truth is, double layered encryption and unique user login & ID required at the time of setup fixes these problems. The truth is, this family was vulnerable and got hacked. The truth is, Nest discredited themselves. I/he/she/they am just spreading awareness.
