  • Nest Secure is simple to set up and install, but there are a few things to keep in mind. We'll walk you through setting up Nest Guard, Nest Tags, and Nest Detects and give you some tips on the best areas to install Nest Detects.
    The app will guide you through each step. You'll learn how to install and set up the Nest Secure alarm system, including how to:
    - First, set up Nest Guard and connect Nest Guard to the Nest app since it's the hub that controls the system. If you're having trouble connecting to the app, go to nest.com/pair/ for more details
    - Set up Nest Tags
    - Set up and install Nest Detect sensors on doors, walls, and windows in your home
    If you prefer to read the instructions, see: goo.gl/JbcVQz

      @Sparky0566 Same! Late last year I went to visit some friends who were big Google owners- and I mean BIG. They had Nest cameras in every room in their house, a Nest Hello doorbell, Google assistants in every room, two Nest thermostats, etc. I was impressed when I saw how they could just go to an app on their phones and see an entire room, or make their house warmer/cooler from an app on their phones. I went to the Google products webpage and saw this, and I was like “this is perfect! i’ve been looking for an alarm system and this meets all of my needs!” So I try to buy it and it's out of stock. When will this be back??? I want it for my home!!!

    I just finished setting up my Nest Secure and I'm nowhere near thrilled. 1. Ability to add a chime required an update out of the box. 2. Door Chime is limited to the actual Nest Secure so It can only be heard from within the same room (Unless the TV is on or someone is speaking, then it's completely useless). 3. You CANNOT increase the volume of the chime on the Secure. 4 You CANNOT pair the chime with home minis even though they're the same company now.. How does it make sense that I can pair my Nest Doorbell Camera with my Minis/Home/Hubs but not THE ALARM? Damn sure seems like one is more important than the other. It must be amateur hour over in the Google Software Engineer Dept. I went on to the Google Threads to see if I was alone and I see a bazillion people asking for this same integration since 2019. All I see are the same copy/paste responses of "We'll forward this to the appropriate teams" from whoever responds to community posts..... well are you walking the data over to silicon valley yourself? What's taking so long? Needless to say, this is unacceptable for a product that costs $400 + Tax. I'll be returning this and flaming it on every review board that I come across. Thanks for wasting my time.

    Nest secure missing one of the most important features. It does not have push notifications to notify you when it is armed are disarm. It does not tell you which door or window is open. All it does is sound a tone when a door or window is open.

      Actually, this is a terrible product period for $9 I can buy a 933 megahertz key fob, and I can walk right up to your front door and push the button on the key fob, which causes interference between the door sensor and the nest box. I can literally walk right in your house past the sensor like it didn't exist. They aren't saying it, but this is why they are discontinuing it.

    • @RobertLeBlancPhoto
      @RobertLeBlancPhoto Před 6 lety +11

      Nest
      Please do. I think it was a huge oversight to not have additional guard units be available for additional entrances to the house, such as garage and back door. Most homes have more than just one regularly used entrance, and not every house member will have a smartphone.
      Additional slave guards would allow everyone to simply have a fob with them to enter and exit at any entrance.
      It seems that the Nest team that designed this system thinks that everyone lives in an apartment.

    Holy Crap - Why isn't anyone talking about the fact that they just got hacked. This is a good attempt but there is less expensive stuff out there that has decades of history in the marketplace. What the hell???? I got an Interlogix Ultrasync. It has video, and app, automation and LOOOOOOOOOOts of options. Jeesh.
