In this Glowforge tutorial, I'm sharing how to engrave a handwritten recipe onto a wood cutting board with your Glowforge. I'll take you step-by-step as I import the scanned recipe into Silhouette Studio and show you how to convert the image into an SVG file that will be laser ready to use in your Glowforge or another laser.

FREE RISERS:
Use your Glowforge to make these. They are essential for doing any odd shaped or thicker than ½” items when not using the crumb tray.
The file has three different sized risers, with one of them being essentially the same height as the honeycomb tray. I have yet to use this one, or see a need for it, so maybe just cut the two smaller ones for now.

SILHOUETTE STUDIO SOFTWARE INFO:
-You can do all steps to prepare the recipe file mentioned in the video with the Basic (FREE) version of Silhouette Studio.
-Turns out you do need Business Edition in order to be able to save as an SVG.
BUT, here is a tutorial on how to save a Silhouette file as a JPEG, PDF, or PNG with any edition of the software.
