    It is crazy how expensive our vegetables can be, given that the country is a perfect agriculture producer and we export so much of it. It is often dictated by a hidden duopply between 2 massive supermarket chains that own most of the supermarket brands. The suppliers and supermarkets have less competition than it should be and push pricing up while claiming ignorance. Plus the National government had a great idea about 12 years ago and allowed the best farming region (in the world) south of Auckland to be turned into housing.
    Another example is the top brand of Milk; Anchor, costs less to purchase in a London supermarket than it does in a New Zealand supermarket because of that lack of competition and the deliberate pricing between supplier and supermarket to inflate the prices for their profits when they should not be even close to that.

    Hey! I'm a new subscriber from Scotland and I'm loving your videos so far :) My boyfriend and I are doing our working holiday visa next year and I want to try and document some of our adventures too. Can I ask what camera you are using or if you have a recommendation for one? Can't wait to watch some more of your adventures! :)

      Hello! Sorry for the delayed response, thank you so much for watching!
      Our primary camera is the Sony ZV-1, it's a really handy compact camera perfect for travelling round but getting really cool shots.
      We also have a GoPro Hero 8 as our action camera to film anything underwater or in places where the Sony won't do.
      Finally we sometimes use our phones if we need to film subtly or we don't have the other ones to hand. We have Google Pixels for that. Hope that helps! When are you heading to NZ?

    *Kia ora (hello) You also gotta remember, that whilst you are traveling around NZ, not long after the major Auckland Floods, Cyclone Gabrielle and more storms...and now NZ is heading towards winter time. This does make a huge difference on vege's and food costs, due to lack of produce or it was destroyed during our disasters over our recent weather horrors. Great questions asked and good feedback given to any future travelers of Aotearoa New Zealand.*

    We may speak English but don't forget this is Polynesia, many countries look like NZ, this is not Britain

  • @shoutatthesky
    @shoutatthesky Před rokem +1

    These types of videos are really offensive. New Zealand is a country with its own culture and traditions. We are not weird or strange, we are just not British and so don't do things the way Brits do them. Have some respect please!

    • @NotAnotherAdventure
      @NotAnotherAdventure  Před rokem +1

      Hi Adam, we didn't mean any offense by this video at all and can only apologise if it comes across that way! We really love New Zealand but just wanted to share our experience in response to some questions we had

    • @shoutatthesky
      @shoutatthesky Před rokem

      @@NotAnotherAdventure That's ok. There are just so many videos like this that paint New Zealand as somehow weird because we don't do everything the same way everyone else does. Maybe I'm being precious but I just love this place so much I hate for it to be disrespected. I understand that was not your intention. I hope you had a great time and enjoy the rest of your travels.

    • @Scuzzlebutt142
      @Scuzzlebutt142 Před rokem

      Dude, calm down. By definition to others, we are a bit weird and strange, in the same way we find what others do kinda weird and strange (I mean really, what is with the British obsession with queuing?). It's all perspective.

    • @shoutatthesky
      @shoutatthesky Před rokem

      @@Scuzzlebutt142 My point is that we are neither weird or strange. We are just not them. Btw I am calm.
      There is a plethora of these videos online and it isa just rude. I have travelled to many countries and not once have I thought to lebel anything I've met as objectively weird. People just do things differently in different cultures so stop making value judgements about it. It's called 'othering' and it is not acceptable behaviour. I'm just calling it out (in a calm and polite way).
