This is THE MOST THOROUGH and TO THE POINT video I’ve seen here, regarding what to expect and how to prep to be an ER nurse 👏🏾. I just passed my RN boards and hoping to start in the ER soon😍. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for sharing your knowledge❗️❗️❗️

Hey Hellen congrats. I just recently got hired for the ER as a new grad as well and just wanted to know how your experience has been so far?

Hey Larry, congrats and thank you! Def. overwhelming at times. It’s such a rollercoaster, some days it’s fun and I’m progressing fast and then other days it’s super frustrating because it feels like I don’t know anything and not progressing at all. Very fast paced environment and so many things you have to remember to do in such a short time, but some things do come easier over time. Overall, better than bedside nursing imo, because I love the variety in patients you see. How about yourself, how do you like it so far?

@@mad1981all Hey Jay. Congratulations on your new ER position! I actually enjoyed the actual work, however, I left and started a new position at a hospital’s family health center. I left because it was highly unorganized as far as not having a plan for who will precept me during my shift and having to deal with rude/unhelpful/unhappy staff who had no intention on precepting me, nor did they want to be there. Felt like a fish out of water there. Also, they don’t respect LPNs as they basically all other clinical staff and often heard or was told/questioned things on LPNs, etc (can tell you better than I can write it lol). Also, they were not willing to compromise on my new schedule being that some things came up on my end that required me to work other shifts. The physical job itself was good, but all that other shanannigans and the “public” patient location, was not for me. I am current enjoying my new position 😊. Good luck to you! Hopefully your experience will be a lot better than mine.
